  • #MAVERICKWATCHREVIEWS First I want to thank Casio North America for sending me these watches, I really appreciate it. This Pro Trek review will be the first of the three watches Casio sent me. This is a great watch with only two minor flaws in my opinion. It is top heavy and lacks solar power but other than that a fantastic watch. And that bracelet system is incredible and I hope they use that in many more of their watches.

    I have the Black Titanium version.
    I have Rolex, Omega, Tudor and Seiko watches. I can honestly say this is my favourite watch.
    1. Exact time set 4 times daily via Bluetooth
    2. Easy to read huge white hands on black watch.
    3. Titanium is so light on the wrist 97g.
    4. The strap is the most comfortable I’ve worn.
    5. Useful Temp thermometer 🌡
    6. Awesome night light
    7. Hourly chime I use
    8. Cheap at A$380.
    8a. Auto light.
    9. Stealth blacked out version
    10. Ease of adjusting the strap
    Highly recommended I don’t find the watch top heavy as fits like a glove.

      Do you think the watch is built good? do you think it will last 15 years? I might get it

    I like that one, the larger numbers are easy for my old eyes to see

    I just got mine, and the bezel is moveable. I agree, I wish it was solar too. But, I am enjoying the bluetooth connection to my phone. It makes the initial set and further adjustments easy to do on the Casio Connect app.

    Nice review. I have the old Protrek PAG-240 since it's got solar and costs about $100 or so and pretty much same features minus the analog time and titanium build.

    I'm looking forward to other two reviews. I'm hoping to find something new to add to the collection and would gladly buy from your Amazon store to help you out . It's says there are only 5 left . If you sell out does it get restocked quickly and at the same price ?

    So I think this so good , I wanted to replace my Apple Watch with something that could potentially be more practical, especially when you need to go out to National parks or hiking, I was impressed by your video I ordered one thru Amazon , but in the orange variant.

    Cool module, think I’d stick with the all resin though. Then the Gravitymaster GR-B200 can be picked up for less than £200...Well done on the collab BTW

    I bought the solid black version of this (also titanium band) for a great deal around Christmas from Walmart online. Wasn't sure if I'd like it, but I really do. It's pretty beefy, but the weight is very reasonable. Even though I like the positive display on the one in the vid, the black and white is the better look for me. Casio used 23mm lugs which annoys me. Odd number lugs are always bad. I've actually worn it on some NATO's and stretch NATO's a couple of times.

    I know that this is a bit older video. I just had to comment that I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that does not like breaking the seal on waterproof watches.

  • @loganholmberg2295
    @loganholmberg2295 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I want one of these but this dosen't have solar. I love the Bluetooth functions on my edifice and it has solar. I wonder if the combination of Bluetooth and the triple sensor is to much for Casio's solar tech.

  • @susrev88
    @susrev88 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Even with solar watches, you need to check waterproofness every few years. The o-ring can dry out which can compromise the seal. Solar seems give ppl a false sense of security.
    As for lack of solar in this model, imho the module is power hungry and there isnt space for big enough solar panels.

    These days, I'll only consider getting a watch with solar and some type of automatic time acquisition, even if its just bluetooth but preferably wave 6 or GPS

  • @GabrielGGabGattringer
    @GabrielGGabGattringer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Interesting model! For me, if the watch has this much features, the dial should be fully digital. Also I prefer solar power on such a model. At least for $300 I expect a solar panel.

    What size is the band?

  • @blo0m1985
    @blo0m1985 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    have it for 1 year +. we need 1)buttons to be programmable what app to start.2) timer should be for 24h, not 1, and more easily adjustable, 3) it should be multimer-multistopwatch. and so on.. feels like tech from 1985 now. (I had samsung gear s3 before, now use protrek in bundle with fitbit inspire2)

    Does the watch itself have any mettle/titanium on it or is it just resin

    • @maverickwatchreviews
      @maverickwatchreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, the watch case itself is a very hard resin painted to match the color of the bracelet.

      I got 15 years on my 1st protrek. Solar powered? I will comment on that next 10 years. The old protrek lcd a bit burned off due to baterry charging damage cause of solar. Bought this for my 2nd protrek. Changing the battery is very easy, and just change it every 2 years. Hope no problem like the lcd burned out just like the 1st one.

    Resin case, but titanium bracelet ? We see tons of watches sub two hundred dollars with a titanium case. Really wish they would have upgraded to titanium case for the money. Please remember most of these watches are cased in China. They can afford to give us a titanium case via this fact alone.

    I quit buying Chinese made watches over human rights abuses going on in China. Casio is the only large Japanese watch manufacturer to remain in China. I own lots of Casios and loved the brand. It's a shame 😔

    • @MarkM58

    • @maverickwatchreviews
      @maverickwatchreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I'm assuming you've also ONLY bought other items NOT made in China correct? And all of the other Japanese brands either still make watches in China and/or use parts sourced from China. Many of the Swiss manufacturers still do as well. Your goal is admirable but not feasible.

    I cant seem to tolerate those metal link watch bands, they always and forever seem to grab the hairs on my wrist, delivering an all day Chinese water torture like effect.
