IBM 5150 Restoration Part 1

FINALLY! Getting around to restoring the iconic IBM PC 5150! Been a LONG time coming and super excited to get into this piece of history.
Unfortunately I decided to start this whole project when i was just starting to get sick....plus severe weather plus other schedule stuff.....made recording this a bit of a pain. But in the end I got part one here done.
Just tearing down, cleaning, and doing some research on the all the parts, being much more in depth than the 5170 video.

Weird. I've had the same symptoms over the last 10-15 days. I really dig old vintage computer videos, these IBMs were my introduction to computers when I was a kid. Looking forward to Part 2.

Yea it was weird. Ever since covid any sinus thing I lose taste and smell briefly. Sucks but I always been testing negative
And yea!! Need to buy another desolder iron and stuff to get things going with pt2

Now that is a floppy connector. That is a old one. Then I saw the tape interface on the board.

Can't beat the oldies!
And yea most of the ones I see are grey...the blues kinda cool !! Too bad the tape interface is near useless...nearly no software for it.
