Jay I think you truly embody a champion, the mindset, work ethic, all of it,your story of working in trades at young age in the family business and the whole story of your come up and working with aceto etc. You're a class act and your content is 💯
I hear you I owned a gym over here on the east coast,. That was called the "East Coast GYM" that was all i did come closing time was picking up tons every night. it's part of the business but you always had people yelling put that shit back! it wasn't too bad sometimes, but I miss it wish I still had it good time's.

Hey Jay, thanks for sharing your workouts. Have been a big fan since the early days in 2000. I had added the cable bench fly movement to my chest workout as a finisher and beginning to see improvement and gains. Great to see you had mentioned it here. Note that am in my first month of retirement and turn 62 next year. With early retirement I am now more committed to working out, with no excuses, since I have the time. Please continue sharing your workouts, experiences and advice. I always look forward to learning and applying what you share with us. Happy holidays!
Hi Jay. Another benefit of keeping the tension and NOT locking out the range of motion is that there is less chance for injury and stress on the joints. I think that is one of the reasons you stayed so healthy all those years. Also, you are NOT anti-social in wanting to be in an empty gym.....that is paradise! Who the hell wants to be in a crowded gym where you can't super set and there are groups of 3 or 4 people working out together and hogging equipment for an hour!
The cover comes off!! I enjoy watching your older videos along with more recent ones. It’s a great combo of a “here’s my game face training for the Olympia” and here’s more introspection on why I do these movements.
I'm going to be 59 this Christmas. I've been training since I was 15. My biggest body weight of 250 lbs at 5 foot 9 with visible abs was all through my 20s and 30s. At that time I was doing 445 for 2 on bench press with feet on the bench and squatting over 600 lbs. Now I weigh 204 lbs. I'm trying to get up to 212 to 215. I only eat 3 times a day. I train 5 days a week and am on trt at 120mg of cypionate once a week. I've been on trt 15 years. I love these videos. I just need to eat more, I guess, to get to 212 lbs. Thank you, Jay!
Watched this while eating before going into my chest day, implemented many of these tips and felt awesome im finally developing the mind to muscle connection, and gaining size….. thank you Jay! You legend
As always, super good contend of in depth explanations of techniques, training plan, minor tips and tricks as well as updates. I prefer these longer videos. Not everything needs to be short videos even these day in my opionion.
Just seen a member using a Smith Machine with foam padding to do donkey calf raises. Looks as if the stops were set just high enough so you could squeeze underneath the bar
Some of your commercial videos were hilarious and great. I don't see them in your videos any more. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the Cutler household!
You’re a very cool down to earth guy. I been watching you since you started BB, A real inspiration. Thanks for the cool informative videos. Keep up the great work.
Only now starting to develop a connection to my chest and I'm starting to notice some nice growth. It definitely takes time, Jay's right about that. Probably took me longer cuz I'm a doof but really feeling the chest work is paying off for me
Jay, thanks for these informative sessions. Been at this for many years, but you can never stop learning and picking up new tips from one of the best of all time (4x).
I need a membership at a gym like that! Id be more than willing to pay $200 a month to be surrounded by people who actually train, or empty! I would love to have the gym to myself every session. Awesome vid Jay, thank you sir
Your looking great Jay! Your down to earth & give us great inspiration. Your not big headed or the sort to fancy yourself 😂 take care, much love from the UK ❤🇬🇧
Jay Cutler, the former professional bodybuilder, has garnered a significant following on TH-cam for his insights and advice on fitness, bodybuilding, and nutrition. Many fans and viewers appreciate his: 1. **Experience**: As a four-time Mr. Olympia champion, he shares valuable knowledge based on years of competition and training. 2. **Authenticity**: Cutler often comes across as relatable and down-to-earth, which resonates with his audience. 3. **Diverse Content**: He covers a wide range of topics, from workout routines and diet tips to lifestyle vlogs, making his channel appealing to both aspiring bodybuilders and casual fitness enthusiasts. 4. **Engagement**: Cutler interacts with his fans and answers questions, creating a community feel around his channel. Overall, many consider him a great online advisor for those interested in bodybuilding and fitness due to his expertise and approachable style. However, personal opinions may vary based on individual preferences and fitness goals. Thanks 🙏 Jay 👌👏
AAAAAAAAA The bushy socks ;-). That's what I learned from you in an older Battle for the Olympia battle video. You said that you alway wore bushy socks so the calves look bigger. I never leave the house without bushy socks or high basketball shoes. You gotta have calves babyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!
Most of these guys only do three exercises but that’s all just maintenance. Us regular people that aren’t on the juice have to put in that extra work, especially if you’re naturally skinny and trying to build up. Took me almost an entire year to go from 170 to 202. I have to eat everything just to gain weight.
Reminds me about the part of the DVD when Jay was training and took his shirt off while wearing a stringer looking to himself in the mirror and thinking like ''Holy shit!'' . I think it was 2004 or 2005. *Edit:* it was 2004 the DVD ''Ripped to Shreds''. AMAZING!
@@JayCutlerTVjay you are the best. Please make a video talking about serge nubret’s workouts and what you think of them. I notice you do high volume workouts like him
41/m hereI dont really flat bench as i have diastasis recti and when i get up from a bench i get that ridge in my stomach that im trying to find ways to repair without surgery so i use a lot of sitting machines for workouts. Even doing dumbells ill put the bench back 1 notch so its a bit angled and then do dumbells above my head. i gotta work on fat weight now as im getting stronger just diet is hard for me as a dick about what i eat and i dont make the best choice's. thanks for the video though as it helps to try and put some of these idea's into play.
At the age of 64 I have always done some quick stretches and hit some poses with the muscles when I’m training each body part during my workout it helps with mind muscles connection.
15:40 what an awesome machine. A big lower chest looks good imo. I like Simeon Panda’s highly developed lower chest I also noticed better chest gains as soon as I started cable flat flies. Great exercise
I've always had good calfs, ill do calfs on chest day aswell definitely a genetics thing lol been at the gym for a year this month lost 4 stone lol now got abs ect 😂 jay your a massive inspiration love it 💪 also found out we share the same birthday lol love from 🏴
Love the videos! Also, love your supplements. Quick question, can I take too many of the supplements in one day, if I’m stacking each day? (Daily vitamin, pre-workout, L carnitine, etc.)
I recently saw a clip of John Meadows talking about chest pressing, and he said exactly the same thing about not using full range of motion. I'm very new to lifting and I've found my arms to be a limiter on my chest pressing, so I might try using a reduced ROM whilst keeping the bottom stretch to see if that helps me.
I’ve recently been dealing with my triceps failing before my chest gets a burn and been trying to find ways to remove them from the exercises as a point of failure and this might be it. Will try in two days when I train chest again.
Wish Jay would, when saying the differences in diet, volume, etc between his prime and now, that he would mention less gear or now being on TRT or what have you. Shed a little light on what was then and now.
I do seated cable press & it gives me an insane pump with a great mind muscle connection, at times i feel its even better than the normal dumbbell press, what are your views @jaycutler?
Jay, your right shoulder has less mobility than the left. I can notice how the left shoulder is able to extend farther than the right when doing iso chest presses
I like doing flat bench followed by incline bench straight after. Obviously slightly lighter weights on the incline as the muscles are already fatigued. Any thoughts on this Jay? Good idea or not?
Hey jaycutler video editor, try to remove this much cuts in the video... When he speaks and there is some gap let it be like that, its just a human thing you know,... It doesn't look normal...
218 would be an athletic look for Jay. 228 looks juiced. In my opinion. It’s difficult for a bodybuilder to choose looking smaller, even though 218 might appear bigger.
"My face always looks like I'm struggling but I'm never struggling" I am stealing that phrase
😂
I love how self aware he is. The fact that a legend can make fun of himself makes him so much more relatable. Makes for more motivation.
What perfect post bodybuilding retirement body you have man , you look amazing .

I always have the urge to pace in circles or just ... randomly in between sets, and that becomes really awkward when the gym is packed 😅
chest video up few minutes before my chest day work!!! let’s go!!

Same here. I looked that gym up and it says they only have 1,000 members and you have to get on a waitlist to get a membership.
$300 month

Great content! I'm a beginner at the age of 32 and this has been a great help!
Keeping constant tension on the muscle makes it harder. The muscle gets no rest.

Valuable information. For all chest exercises, would you recommend to not go full extension to keep constant tension?
My gym is always too busy for the cable flat fly since it’s 2 pulleys. Will try it next time if possible.

I rarely ever use a barbell it’s mostly dumbbells or machines. The only time I use a barbell would be for incline also.
Hey Jay, could you give us some information about the supplements you recommend for us older guys.
but jay, isnt that sourheads' iconic sour guy cartoon on the labels??

Definitely not planet fitness😂😂😂 luckily my new gym kicks ass
@jaycutlertv, when doing cable flies, where do your shoulders align while laying on the bench? Parallel?
Nice content but slow down on the qty of adds hitting us .
Do you still recommend flat barbell bench press ?
Jay you look fantastic, excellent size and conditioning..
Wtf, I used to go to the crunch in mission viejo too
