Great tutorial. It really helped a lot. At one point, I could not see what you were doing as the TH-cam options covered up your pointer. Aside from that little technical glitch, this is the most comprehensive video I found on the background topic. Thanks!
Thanks Dave for this info. I reinstalled the beta and its now with a german interface - this is new for me to see the beta versions in my language. I am a Midjourney creator too and Adobe is on the right way with this background creator. Fast and simple.
Hey Dave, glad to see they finally added this. I was a part of usability study for this feature and thought it was really cool! I couldn't wait to see it released to the world! Regarding the usage limits thing you were wondering about, they explained in the study that depending on how much the feature is used, they might need to limit generation of images to only so many per hour or something like that so the servers and network don't get bogged down too badly...but I got the feeling they weren't set on that and they're probably still trying to iron out the specifics. My guess is that there aren't a LOT of people using this feature yet, so there's no need to throttle it right now. I told them that if I was on a tight deadline and needed the feature, it would be super frustrating to have to delay delivering my images while I wait for the timer to let me do more work. They asked if buying tokens to reset the timer sooner would be reasonable and I said sure, because that cost could get past down to the client. Anyway, that's some of the background surrounding that feature. There's other things having to do with this feature that it doesn't look like they've released yet, so I would expect more great things to come soon! (...unless they decided not to do them!)
I like the technique of using AVERAGE as a means of color-matching different components of an image. Don't know that I've seen that before. I've always used some sort of solid color adjustment layer(s) with the COLOR blend mode to do that
This is going to fun!!! Love how you tied the foreground and background together using the blur/average color and a blend mode! I was working on this very thing today and didn’t even think to change the blend modes. Thanks Dave ~ Have a great weekend.
hey man yu scared the chit out of me LMAO.... pull back from the screen I though you was jumping through the screen onto me desk... pullback pull back bro....LMAO
I have watched three tutorials and I GET photoshop. None the less, none of the tutorials work as shown, and all of them tell you to do it drastically different. After 3 hours of trying I give up. I have watched this frame by frame and followed to a T. When I create the backdrop, my subject appears and the backdrop is there.... but it is not shown. It is the original backdrop in every case. It shows the output, it looks great, you hit ok and it goes back to the old version. Photoshop could make a sane person drink.
Hi Dave, What was Topaz Labs response as a result of your contacting them with regards to Studio 2 not being comfortable with Photoshop 2023? I contacted Adobe and they sent me a download link for Photoshop 2022. Now, at least, I can access it from Photoshop.
HELP! I downloaded PS-beta and now it has become the default going from LR. I don’t want the Photoshop Beta to be default. How do I change and where do I go to change it!
I don't know if you can. I have the same issue. This is what I did. Go to Preferences>External Editing : You can choose Photoshop 2023 as the External Editor. Give it all of the same settings as Photoshop beta. You can then close the Lightroom Preferences. You will need to Right Click on the image you will be editing in Photoshop and choose Edit In and click on the External Editor (it should show Photoshop 2023 app)It will be second in the list of applications...
I tried it....and, I thought it was terrible and fairly obvious when using keywords that Firefly is the engine which is still very bad. I really liked the concept but, there are plenty of other AI plugins that do a much better job.

Thanks for the very helpful info Daniel.
Thanks!
Laura thank you so much for the Super Thanks!
Wow. Your final step of bring the colors together is perfect!
This is an exciting new feature. Thanks for the demonstration!
Never knew about the backdrop creator, many thanks from Nova Scotia.

Nice Dave. Do you think the colour harmonisation neural feature would help to get a good match between the background and foreground?
I do. I want to make a video on that also.
hey man yu scared the chit out of me LMAO.... pull back from the screen I though you was jumping through the screen onto me desk... pullback pull back bro....LMAO
Excellent. I’ve not seen the average tip before.
Thank you, Dave. You are amazing. Although English is not my language I always understand your tutorials. You really know how to explain. 🌷❤️🌹
Wow, thank you!
I really like this, it was good one 😊
Thank you very much!💞👍
That was a great video, I was about to purchase TK8 until I seen the bit about I had to have active cloud account. 🤫

The better blend mode for the average layer would be 'color' not soft light.

I contacted Adobe and they sent me a download link for Photoshop 2022. Now, at least, I can access it from Photoshop.
Studio 2 works on my Intel based Mac but not on my M1 laptop using Photoshop 2023 and it also works in Photoshop beta.
update of this feature to non beta version?
Was able to follow you up to opening the Neural Filters. They won't open layer is unlocked and the filter isn't greyed out.
Remember that it's in the cloud, so it might take some time
mine is doing the same - it doesn't want to open
Thanks Dave…👍

This feature is pretty buggy in the Windows version. Thanks for the video - looks pretty useful
It really is!
It’s funny when I listen to other tutorials their voice is not nearly as nice as yours.
Thanks Angela.
