Thanks Dave! I recently purchased Photo AI for the sharpening, denoise, and face recovery only after a lengthy trial period. I have quite a few old photos I’ve been scanning and restoring, and the software is amazing for this! I was very disappointed in the basic (putting it nicely) controls for color and lighting, but knew what I was purchasing. I’m always looking for ways to improve my workflow, but I just don’t see this being a part of it at all given the other tools we have in COP, Lightroom, camera raw and photoshop. I’ve been using TK Actions since TK4, so call me a control freak! For me, photo AI will simply be a specialized plugin when needed.
Hello Dave. Very nice video! I have Topaz Photo AI and use it frequently. I love the technique you applied today and just the process makes editing fun. I will experiment with it, especially with the TK9 plugin. Thanks again!
Thanks Dave, great video. BTW. I only get to shoot in afternoons, super bright light! So, I use a variable ND filter to cut the light, as needed. Sometimes, I do get a blue colour cast on my images. I have noticed that "Adjust Light" + "Balance Colour" can get rid of that colour cast. 😃. Thank you for all your videos. Have a great holiday break with your family and friends. Cheers, Peter🎉🎉🎉
Hi Dave. A few years ago, before I purchased TK9, I used another plugin that allowed me to add a dodge/burn layer with one click, in order to then paint on a section or selection to lighten and at the same time add colour by choosing a foreground colour with the mode set to overlay. I guess in your example here at the 6'20" mark you could do the same to add desired colour to those trees?
In my opinion Topaz PhotoAI is a great tool for denoising and sharpening, but not for the lightning adjustment and balancing color. This I do futher in Lightroom and/or Photoshop. Here I have the tools to do the changes individually only on a part of the pictures. In Topaz it's only global. Ok, I can use masks in PhotoAI, but it isn't the same as masks in LR or luminositiy masks in Photoshop.

Thanks Dave! Topaz is a great asset

Yes, you can dodge or burn with color instead of just white or black.
Thanks Dave!
I wonder how this compares to the adaptive profiles (currently in beta). Them to do essentially the same thing.
Not quite sure. I need to make some comparison tests.

To me, it might be a starting point. I do agree with you about masking in Photoshop and LR.
