Winning culture and winning mentality. The 2023 World Cup win came down simply to the fact that before the final, it was supposed to be a procession for India. Unbeaten and on home soil, it was supposed to be their crowning. In that locker room, that would have been disrespectful and that provided extreme motivation, no doubt about it. Australians embrace it when they are given the underdog tag and thrive when odds are against them unlike many nations.
Since 1999, every Australian CWC squad has had World Cup winning players in it. So in every World Cup since 1999 there has been someone in the dressing room who knows what its like and what it takes to win the tournament, and as such can coach the newer players. This has to be an advantage.

I think if more first world countries Start playing cricket and after cricket is included in Olympics things won't be that much easy for Australia atleast in t20s
True, cricket may become like FIFA where even the world cup winner has to qualify for the next wcup atleast in T20. ICC needs to spread cricket across the world rather being a puppet of bcci. BCCI wud never want to lose its monopoly over cricket as big economic giants like USA China may jump in.
There's plenty of countries that play cricket that don't make it to the ICC World Cups because sadly they didn't qualify. Ireland and Zimbabwe are two top tier international teams that didn't qualify for the World Cup last year. There are actually over 100 countries with international cricket teams, after soccer it's the most played sport in the world. The US has both men's and women's Under 19 international cricket teams, they might become a force in the future as cricket is being promoted heavily there in recent times, and indeed some of the 2024 T20 World Cup games are scheduled to be held in the US. Atm the US teams are largely comprised of folks of Indian heritage but it will reach larger sections of the populace as it gains popularity.
@@MikspaOrdan The ICC would like nothing more than to break into the US market, that's why there's been big promotional programs started there in recent times. Some of the T20 World Cup games are scheduled to take place in the US later this year, and the US already has Under 19 international teams for both men and women so they are upcoming in the sport and may well become a force in the future. I dunno about China. I can't see them ever getting involved, but you never know. One thing's for sure, the BCCI needs its ass kicked. Since they've been pulling the strings India has failed to win any big tournaments so whatever they are doing isn't working.
Unpopular opinion as an Indian, But The Ashes is way better than India vs Pakistan! The heat, the brand of cricket, the intent and above all the rivalry between Australia and England... There's nothing like the Ashes
Yea, I think so too.. IND-PAK is basically a money based thing more than a cricket rivalry but the Ashes... They are the epitome of Test Cricket... Players put out their heart and soul just for one small urn...
I wouldnt call it an "underrated opinion". Because if im being honest i didnt really know that it was a huge rivalry. I just thought they kinda hype it up a bit.
India had a very good team over the years from 2000's to reach this level of success, but their inability to handle pressure situations and lack of confidence didnt make them reach their potential. On the other hand Australia not only had a great team but also has nerves of steel. It was evident from 99 semi final to take away the game fron that situation against that SA team is some level of determination and confidence. Also they never cared about personal records. The 79/80 team , in my opinon was their best cause you had roberts holding garner and croft all at their peak . Garner in particular brutalized g chappel in that series. But you also had rhe worlds best batsmen in richards and great openers Greenwich and haynes , and clive loyd still a top player
Good stuff, especially useful for someone like me, who hails from a non-cricket playing nation. Been curious about the goings on of the game.

It's an interesting sporting culture in Australia. At all boys schools we had to play two sports a year minimum and the competitive environment is intense. Sports means way more than academics. No one in the cities will talk about which school produced the best test results but which school wins Head Of The River, Rugby, Cricket etc makes the news.

That's what we call the CHAMPIONSHIP DNA!
Most feared team for a reason 🙌
Yes, something Indians lack
During toss in the WC finals there was a silent confidence in pat cummins body language like australia already becomes world champions, his team looked in absolute balance and no nerves at all, that is typical aussies mindset in big games, they just comes like robots and do the needful, this is called championship DNA
Most feared team for a reason!
And Rohit was faking that confidence by saying that "we would've batted first on this surface after winning the toss" 😂

Greatest cricket nation to ever exist 🙌💖
Your mob really brought the heat in the late 90's though, revolutionised 1 day cricket. Best team of the tournament does not always win a World Cup, but Sri Lanka thoroughly deserved theirs. No luck in that one, just talent and a great game plan
I'm Australian, grew up in the 90's early 2000's, I loved watching Jayasuriya tear apart out team. I obviously wanted us to win, but I loved watching him bat
@@Bucketcity126I remember Jayasuriya and Kaluwitharina tearing McGrath a new one at the SCG one night, 0-70 off 7 or some such. First time I'd seen him get completely dismantled.

I wasn’t much of a cricket fan in childhood, however we used to play a card game in school which would have cricketers and their records written on it like highest avaerage odi, highest total, highest no of wickets..So u can challenge other player by throwing ur card on any of the above records..And Sachin used to win most like highest odi total, highest total runs and so on..until someone pulled out Sir don bradman..He had the highest records which no one could beat..So,thats how i knew about the legendary player..Even other aussie players like gilchrist, shane warne, macgrath etc had some of those highest records..So,i knew them even though i never really watched cricket..

I think they were called trump cards. I did not have cricket cards but aircraft carriers, cars, and ship trump cards. Fun times playing it.
There are many teams of champions, the English, the Indians, but no team whose team tactics of hunting as a pack and playing for each other. As the saying goes, a champion team will pretty much always beat a team of champions.

Yet people say India is the best 😂
Indians have got a massive ego
They are the paper champions!
They could be. If their government and team put the same effort into fostering their massive base into similar systems we have they could be unstoppable juggernauts they just have such a love of the sport and a pride we as a nation have lost since I was a kid in the 80s and 90s. Australia I believe is in danger if the sport continues to lose itself to paid presentations on foxtel or other services.

India sucks in semis, finals.
You didn't included world test championship and t20 worldcup
As an aussie, I'm still not convinced with this current Australian side.
They've never won the Ashes in England and have had their asses handed to them by India in the last 5 test series.
Until they win series in England and India, they can't be labelled as feared.
Oh come on
Does it really matter winning a series against India
As an Indian supporter myself
The series wins are pointless because we lose the world test championship finals anyways
You guys keep winning when it matters the most and the only ashes series where England are competitive is when they play in England
Ashes series in Australia is just 5-0 4-0
England just cannot even compete
As long as they keep winning the main events 🙌
@@doughlausprashaal7151 Sorry dude but beating India in india is the aim. It’s like when the Indians came over to Australia 2020or2021 and won the test series. Beating Aus or India IN TEST at home proves your team is the best. Obviously we can’t really beat ourselves. But if we can destroy a team in their own backyard, their climates that, they are suppose to be used to, but we aren’t used too, makes the win harder but better.
@@deakinpack9920beating India in India u just forget that, it will never happen....BCCI, pitches, media, 1 billion fans, accusations and cheating allegations on Aus by Indian media and other nation medias during test series in India will always occur, in such an environment where everything is against u, pitch not even 1% friendly to Aus under such conditions u dream of winning lol

The most feared team was the West Indies. From 1977 till 1994 they never lost a test series and won in India and Pakistan where no visitors won. They were scary. Aust couldn’t get near them for 15 years and were made to look timid.

7:46 No mate you are Factually Wrong, Australia Didn't beat South Africa in the Semi Final, The Semi Final Match between Australia and South Africa at Edgbaston 1999 CWC was a tied match with both team scores leveled at 213/10, but Australia did beat South Africa in Super Eight earlier in the tournament so the reason how the Aussies proceeded to the finals with the match being tied at the Semi Final.
So Technically South Africa haven't lost the Semi Final but the rules of that world cup cost them a place for the final Just like New Zealand had faced the humiliation at Lords which was also very insane in 2019 CWC Final
You are right!

Hi I think you got one fact wrong here. Aus didn’t qualify for Semis in 1992 CWC. Please rectify that error. It was Pak vs NZ in 1992 semi final.

To be clear the Shield was not create to produce Test cricketers to beat England. It was just an organically grown series where the States tried to beat each other. Given that many summers didn't have Tests the Shield was the main game in Aus. At least until the last 15-20 years

'Australia' is a matter of fact a continent; Earth's Southernmost continent 🇦🇶 which is a very cold region and has a lot penguins.
On the other hand, 'New Holland' is the mainland of Oceania that has a lot of kangaroos and numerous marsupials. Moreover, New Holland is the mainland of the Greater Brütish Realm (GBR) 🇬🇧 which is commonly known as the U.K.. The southern lands that make up the GBR are the Falkland Islands 🇫🇰 and Tasmania 🇦🇺, and its northern lands are England 🏴 and Scotland 🏴, just to name a few.
Cold region? Mate, it was 41C in Perth yesterday. Australia is Independent of the UK. Tasmania belongs to Australia not the UK. New Holland was the name the Dutch gave to Australia before the British arrived and named it Australia.
Well, actually Antarctica is the southern-most continent.

What was really shocking about their WC victory? They were 5 time champions already and had a dominating team of champions.
Man, I got goosebumps watching maxwell in last worldcup on how he played even with an injury
I think if more first world countries Start playing cricket and after cricket is included in Olympics things won't be that much easy for Australia atleast in t20s
Valid point!
You think it's been EASY??
Unpopular opinion as an Indian,
But The Ashes is way better than India vs Pakistan!
@@Ap0orvaExactly, Ind vs Pak is kinda overrated... It's a hyped up rivalry bcoz the countries are rivals
I wouldnt call it an "underrated opinion". Because if im being honest i didnt really know that it was a huge rivalry. I just thought they kinda hype it up a bit.
@@Lucas_CactusDude I said unpopular not underrated

India had a very good team over the years from 2000's to reach this level of success, but their inability to handle pressure situations and lack of confidence didnt make them reach their potential. On the other hand Australia not only had a great team but also has nerves of steel. It was evident from 99 semi final to take away the game fron that situation against that SA team is some level of determination and confidence. Also they never cared about personal records. They always were a compact unit in WC which other teams were not completely.
