I like Japan as a place for holiday. They are so well mannered but I have worked with Japanese colleagues and they always tell dark stories about work life in Japan. When they were working in Malaysia, they were so happy they get to go back early. We work till 6pm and by 7pm, office will be empty. Even if the manager is there, we would just go back. If I have a project going on and then I’d stay back but if I have to go back, I’ll just go back. My Japanese colleagues looked genuinely happy they get to leave at 7pm and go have dinner with their partners or hang out drinking and actually go back home.
Bro how does that deserve respect when you are putting capitalism and greed in front of your own personal health and well-being? Yes it’s good to work hard but it’s better to know your boundaries.
In my country, most of the time the boss will put all the work in other employees. They would be home with their family or having fun somewhere else. And in that time, the underpaying employees have to work their ass off. So for this man case, his boss took it into his personal matter. Yes, it's unhealthy, but still, he choose it instead of putting it for someone else's shit. Somebody has to get the job done and he took the responsibility, whether because of money or his position. You talk about capitalism, did you ever live in a communist country. They are full of shit. So if I give a little respect for him, so what, I don't give a fuck. Life is short, I do wish he will have his freedom someday, as for now, a little bit of appreciation wouldn't hurt that poor man

I'm from the Philippines, tho we're a developing country, i think we don't stress that much. We can find happiness with little things and be contented. Tho it has disadvantages, I know, but we rest when it's time to rest. Discrimination, bullying, social pressures is not that prominent here. We smile even there are storms like literal storms, floods, or whatever, we can find ways and reason to smile and be happy.
Yes, exactly bruh. Our VietNam is the same. Not necessarily a modern and high-income place is a place of enjoyment and comfort. I have lived in Japan for 10 years feeling only the pressure, boredom, no friends and discrimination of some Japanese people.
He has his own vlog. He interviews people on the streets as well. Takashi from Japan I think is his channel. Anyway, there's always a dark side on everything but I think Japanese people's concept of hard work is literal.
The problem with the Japanese is also that they work so inefficiently, while in Europe, for example, only two-thirds of the time would be needed, or even less. And the mere fact that Japan statistically ranks low in most first-world countries rankings says a lot.
In my country, usually all offices close before 8pm and not many people work over time. But being a banker, I have to work even after my usual off time. It's around 10-11 pm I leave the bank along with some of my colleagues. Not to mention, I work on shift off days as well. This job is so stressful. I am a Japanese living in a rural area of Japan, not even the main land where Tokyo is located in the Kanto area, and I did not agree with what is often said about Japan: "overworked," "peer pressure," and "high suicide rate". However, when I visited Tokyo, I understood somewhat. For residents of prefectures far away from Tokyo, I feel that Tokyo is a place to work, not a place to live.
@@thedarkurgedurge I guess it's like, "If you don't pick a job, there's a job for you." I think many people who stay in their hometowns stay because of family and friends. Others may have no reason to leave their hometowns or stay for financial reasons. If they want to do creative work or seek stimulation, they may prefer to go to Tokyo.
I hate people always generalize Japan based on Tokyo. Japan has 47 prefectures, each with its own characteristics. It's like looking only at New York and generalizing the US.
Working in Japan is crazy. Everyone works such long hours but gets barely anything done. Its mostly piles of paperwork and tons of meetings just for the sake of doing it. Sometimes I miss the American attitude of going in, doing the work, and going home. I feel so bad for salarymen in Japan.
for a country the size of japan it's still the richest country in the world behind china and usa thanks to this working culture and discipline , and this hard work is also coupled with perfectionism, that's why the output is always quality
I would guess that this is a problem specific of big cities. Small cities and the countryside are most likely much less stressful. To be honest, I would love to go to Japan on vacation, but I have zero interest in visiting big cities. I want to see the countryside.
I was a street performer in Tokyo Japan for 6 years. I came in contact with all different types of people. I love Japan and all that it offers. Japanese people are awesome.
Hope they get rid of this mindset and view! His TH-cam channel is wonderful. I found Japanese people to be courteous and respectful and absolutely love and admire their culture. They love to learn and they use all technologies, old and new. They don’t throw away the old. Working is not always easy in any country - in America I had to work two full-time jobs, but that wasn't all there was in my life. I love visiting and wish I could live there.
I'm Japanese living in Tokyo. I don't think my opion is all correct but The most of older people won't let us to do that. Because they lived the sameway as we did. But the problem is the salary. The income is getting lower and lower. Our salary average is like 10〜15k dollars for a month. thats why Japan has very high suicide rate. They choose to die cuz living is harder. We have to change something but people in here don't have enough energy or don't even look at that problem. So oneday I wish every young people stands up and fight for themselfs and for the future of this beautiful country.
No no. I live in Tokyo. I make way above most here and I work 9-6, 5 Days a week. Most people are not forced to overwork, they choose to overwork, for nothing. I don’t understand when I came here but now I understand. They rather stay in office than going home feeling lonely and isolated. They feel at least needed in office but once they leave office, they feel trash. No social life, no circles, no girls, no nothing. They rather stay in office
I have so much respect for Tokyo and the people in it. The anime the style the people the peace. Quite possibly the most common type of crime you may encounter in Tokyo is theft of bicycles and umbrellas. Almost as common as people turning in lost items to the nearest police box, people “borrowing” unsecured bicycles at train stations and umbrellas left at doorways are an everyday occurrence.
In Japan people feel overworked and somewhat oppressed. Hikkikomori or shut in culture is also on the rise. A lot of people walking around that need hugs, attention, affection 😢 from others but cultural boundaries makes it impossible. 😢

I wish at leat once a month every single person in the world has to go home and relax or spend time with family for the entire day. Just one monthly day of peace and self care.
That would be fucking fabulous, for real. I'm waiting for more millennials and soon more Gen Z to start taking over so we can start implementing 4 day work weeks. I'd love a a day off to run errands, a day to hang with friends and family or go to an event, and a third day to just do nothing but be alive or pursue a hobby! Then head back to work on Monday.
Isn't that what weekends are supposed to be for?
@@Actar_Raikit yea... No, i work weekends
@@aclosh2983 That's why I said, "supposed to be". It's crazy how demanding jobs can get.
@@Actar_Raikitsir. I work from 6-am to 10-pm. Saturday to Friday. With sometimes Sunday off.
This guy is so kind and insightful he should be a TH-camr
I once worked at exploitative company. I was devastated. I work everyday without a rest and sometimes i got sick due to unhealthy eating style. Sometimes i even slept in my office. Now i am currently working at a better office. Still working on fixing my eating style and having the rest that my body needs
Glad to hear that brother been there the same night shift it’s so stressful never worth mental health now I’m looking for something better Put God first
I can correlate to it.
Glad you guys are taking better care for yourselves.🙏🙏🙏
we are all gonna make it bruh :D@@motorcycle-man
Sounds like zom100 to me
Omg Takashi is the interviewee this time! びっくりしましたよ‼️
Who
I like Japan as a place for holiday.
This was the collab I have been waiting for
Respect to his friend's boss. The man doesn't want to give up
Respect? what r u somking?
He's literally making a point about their work culture being unsustainable and unhealthy bro
Bro how does that deserve respect when you are putting capitalism and greed in front of your own personal health and well-being? Yes it’s good to work hard but it’s better to know your boundaries.
Respect 🫡 either youre a boss or you work for the dreams of another person
In my country, most of the time the boss will put all the work in other employees. They would be home with their family or having fun somewhere else. And in that time, the underpaying employees have to work their ass off. So for this man case, his boss took it into his personal matter. Yes, it's unhealthy, but still, he choose it instead of putting it for someone else's shit. Somebody has to get the job done and he took the responsibility, whether because of money or his position. You talk about capitalism, did you ever live in a communist country. They are full of shit. So if I give a little respect for him, so what, I don't give a fuck. Life is short, I do wish he will have his freedom someday, as for now, a little bit of appreciation wouldn't hurt that poor man
realest guy in Tokyo 💯 not everything is what it seems, it’s like that everywhere, just enjoy the small things, count your blessings, be grateful, thank God for things you have cus what you have is the life others beg for 🙏💯 Stay Safe Y’all God Bless
facts brother.
Takashi always ask but no one ask Takashi, but now finally he is being interviewed!
Damn❤️🫡
The collab I didn’t know I needed or thought would be possible. Loved every second of it. Thank u to both!!
Love your shows both on TH-cam! Keep on going.
So I know what it feels likes when you work your ass off. Just so stressful. I hope everyone who works so hard will get peaceful moments for themselves ❤
Why would you work so long in a bank? A bank doesn't do anything with a deadline. Just do it tomorrow.
@@i.c.wiener2750judging by the commentor's name im assuming she is from India. Its pretty much a norm here to work 12-14 hours a day no matter how big or small the establishment is. Unless youre in HR. My own sister works in one if the big 4s and the work hours are crazy especially when the quarters are ending. Auditing jobs are nostly like that.
@@crowbar3 India is a 3rd world country where people eat the dirtiest food I've ever seen and they literally shit in the middle of the streets. I don't think they need banks there.
@@i.c.wiener2750 It's not possible to do it tomorrow. We are informed by our head quarters that we should finish our daily work within the day. I work in a super branch of a private bank. Here in my country, there are super branches and sub branches. Just that super branches have too much customers. That's why we have too much workload.
Edit : I'm not sure about your country. But here, in my country, (especially in my bank) we have daily tasks for each person. We have to finish those tasks within the day no matter what. And that's why we work overtime. Sometimes we get lucky to leave early though. And moreover, since I work in a super branch, I have to work on Saturdays and bank holidays as well. Super branches don't have that bank holidays in my country 🥴💔
@@crowbar3 I'm actually from Sri Lanka. Here almost everyone banker work over time. Some finish early but some finish later (depending on their daily tasks)
i watch both of you, and happy you two meet each other.
I appreciate and respect the honesty and vulnerability.
I'm curious, are there a lot of job opportunities in rural areas in Japan?
@@thedarkurgedurge I guess it's like, "If you don't pick a job, there's a job for you." I think many people who stay in their hometowns stay because of family and friends. Others may have no reason to leave their hometowns or stay for financial reasons. If they want to do creative work or seek stimulation, they may prefer to go to Tokyo.
@@thedarkurgedurge sort of i guess, most likely with their agriculture field
I hate people always generalize Japan based on Tokyo. Japan has 47 prefectures, each with its own characteristics. It's like looking only at New York and generalizing the US.
At least the boss sacrifices their time, and their employees recognize and appreciate it.
Watching these two individuals collaborating made my day.
Yo finally someone speaking some truth in Japan and not trying to cover it up
Still appreciating Japan's high quality and friendliness to foreigners, as a place for short-term travel, Japan is really the best.
We just came back from Japan, and that exactly what we had in mind. It’s a top destination to visit… but living there would be so stressful.
Thank you for sharing this video. It is good to know what other countries go through.
Every country seems like a beautiful perfect country from everywhere else to someone.
Every country has their ups and downs
Working in Japan is crazy. Everyone works such long hours but gets barely anything done. Its mostly piles of paperwork and tons of meetings just for the sake of doing it. Sometimes I miss the American attitude of going in, doing the work, and going home. I feel so bad for salarymen in Japan.
for a country the size of japan it's still the richest country in the world behind china and usa thanks to this working culture and discipline , and this hard work is also coupled with perfectionism, that's why the output is always quality
Bro finally gets a day off from interviewing and winds up being interviewed 😂
Love the interview; very honest and to the point. More, please!
I would guess that this is a problem specific of big cities. Small cities and the countryside are most likely much less stressful. To be honest, I would love to go to Japan on vacation, but I have zero interest in visiting big cities. I want to see the countryside.
I love when Takashii is the one being interviewed for a change. I love that guy.
Finally our Japanese bro got interviewed😂
I was a street performer in Tokyo Japan for 6 years. I came in contact with all different types of people. I love Japan and all that it offers. Japanese people are awesome.
That guy is takashi isn't it?😂😂 i was like damn finally someone got to interview him❤
The guy being interviewed has his own channel where he interviews people on the street
What's his channel name?
@@himeshpal2784Takashi From Japan.
Hope they get rid of this mindset and view! Japanese is one of the modt unique, different, amazing cultures we still have left on earth and I hope it can be saved and prolonged for many centuries to come! 🙏❤️ mental health needs to be seriously considered as the most important part of life in Japan along with physical health.
What he said is scarily genuine and authentic.
This is an over-generalization. The working hours depend on the occupation.
True. When they make videos like these, they fail to inform that. Feels intentional to create polarizing views.
Japan is heaven 🤍
I wish Japanese ppls all are stay happy they are so kind ppls 😇
Japan has to "turn off the lights" at night more often and relax a bit.
agree🥺
turn off the lights and blaze em blunts
I'm Japanese living in Tokyo.
I don't think my opion is all correct but
The most of older people won't let us to do that.
When girls are more stressful to be with than slave work
Thats so sad. 😢
Humble person.. The takeaway is your views reflect your inner goodness.. #Respect..
I have so much respect for Tokyo and the people in it. The anime the style the people the peace. I just love it, I want to visit so badly knowing that the unit alone is over populated frustrates me, I pray for everyone that works day and night for those who live there and visits. Bless all of your souls ❤
Amazingly well said
I love this guy. He is respectful and aware of Japanese society. 😊
I’ve been to Seoul/ Korea in May during COEX media exhibition in Gangam district. Never, have i ever seen such nice friendly (minding their own business) kinda people. They don’t look at you, or intimidate you. Men are really friendly but i didn’t want to talk to the girls, cause they’re shy Iced been told. Hopefully next may I’ll be back.
The interviewer is now the interviewee! Hi Takashi!! 👋
Lovely young man speaking the truth
I think it’s the first person I see that appreciates his boss for working even harder. Respect!
BS, it's managerial positions who even create the workload. Unionize!
Lol the working of boss is completely different he does 50% work for double salary and a better life at work
I know it's good for holidays and people in Japan are nice too, but many said they felt so stressful on working in Japan
I love that part who he said, that Tokyo is "clean".
I entered the video happy and stoked to see Takashi being interviewed!... then finished it sad. ):
I was thinking I have seen him before and the comment box helped me realise where.
In Japan people feel overworked and somewhat oppressed. Hikkikomori or shut in culture is also on the rise. A lot of people walking around that need hugs, attention, affection 😢 from others but cultural boundaries makes it impossible. 😢
We have this in the west now too
it may have declined in Japan but through anime they have infected the whole world too. Post apocalyptic animes and dark dark themes written by severely depressed people.@Chris Heart
Boss makes a nickel, I make a dime, that's why I sleep on company time..
nice line 👌
Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, that’s why I poop on company time
Stress anxiety depression does not comes from outer non-satisfaction, ofcourse it's one of the factor but it actually comes from non satisfaction from inside.
I want interactions like this in my rpg games
Man he's quite handsome
