I also thought about using the devotion Mana rock from Theros beyond death, but like Chromatic Orrery I have yet to play with it. I'm sure it's powerful in commander.
I think Commander Void mentioned its utility (along with Thran Dynamo) with untapping shenanigans. That's the most common use these days. If I have an artifact heavy deck that contains Manifold Key, Voltaic Key and Clock of Omens... I will surely include either Gilded Lotus or Thran Dynamo.
With Mana Crypt I will happily pay the 2 life with a smile on my face. :) Btw with the hype of Jorn, God of Winter aka Winter Soldier would you consider doing a top 10 snow permanents?
You cannot produce mana of colors that are not your commander identity. So felwar stone cannot produce red in an oloro deck even if an opponent has a mountain
I have 1 deck that doesn't use sol ring. Prismatic bridge. I only care about colors. Is optimized to consistently have bridge out in turn 4, possible even in turn 3.
Instead of top 10 mana rocks, why not just say top mana rocks? I understand grouping all 10 talisman into one slot, but you put Basalt Monolith and Grim Monolith at a near-tie at number 5 and they're different cards. That means the 5th and 6th slot are taken by the Monoliths, right? But then you have Fellwar Stone and Arcane Signet at 6. This list is just numbered in a mess. Counting it down from the top spot looks like this: 1 Sol Ring 2 Mana Crypt 3 Mana Vault 4 and 5 (tied) Chrome Mox and Mox Diamond 6 and 7 (tied) Basalt Monolith and Grim Monolith 8 and 9 (tied) Fellwar Stone and Arcane Signet 10 and 11 (ted) All the 2-color talismans and signets If you wanna talk about more than 10 mana rocks, go for it. It's your video. Just title the video differently and number the list better, please. Thank you for the content.
Basalt and Grim monolith are nearly the same card, with minor benefits and drawbacks to playing both which is why I had them share. The thing about mana rocks is that they're very ambiguous in design, which makes it harder to justify separate ranks.
Last time I was this early the best mana rock in magic just got turned into a 3/3 elk.
You get bonus points for making it an on-theme joke
Oko is Broko. Def ain’t no Joko
jeweled lotus is already being used in legacy with doubling cube
I wasn’t expecting number one to be sol ring. I assume it’s an auto include so I don’t even think about it 😂
1. Sol Ring
2. Mana Crypt
3. Mana Vault
4. Basalt monolith
5. Lotus Petal
6. Chrome Mox
7. Mox Opal
8. Mox Diamond
9. LED
10. Jeweled Lotus
Sleeping on Chromatic Orrery

@@CommanderVoid Ah man, Chromatic Orrery is great in artifact decks or WUBRG decks. Taps of 5 of any color combination or draws cards
Just saying, if mana crypt said you take 3 damage period you would still play it
Getting Grim monolith, mana vault and unwinding clock turn one, good luck
Even before I clicked on the video I knew that sol ring was at the very least top 3.
No love for Lotus Petal?
my Ezuri Renegade Leader has 0 mana rocks and it kicks ass
just to send a message haha XD
but yea it's mono green elf but still amuses people at times
dont think gilded lotus is good, its too slow, but everything else on the list I basically agree with.
It's definitely slow, but has seen play throughout the least competitive years of Commander

aka Winter Soldier

I already did a top ten for Snow cards if that helps
Can you tap for colors outside your color identity? I'm not sure felwar stone works like that.
Of course. Same of exotic orchid
Yeah it does
Uhhh, Lotus Petal?
Do colorless mana dorks next! I would have said colored mana dorks but that would just be a list of 1 mana green creatures 😂
And 1 Edgewalker xD
No medallions?
👍🏼👍🏼
No no… it’s mana vault mana crypt mox opal mox amber chrome mox jeweled lotus sol ring and lotus petal
Amber is pretty bad in most decks. I had it in most decks for a long time and its so overrated.
Mox Diamond is better than Chrome Mox and it’s not that close
I disagree with some of these... but we all have our own tastes
Chromatic lantern is 10/10 on the list of worst mana rocks. If you're a 5 color deck it's slightly playable
You cannot produce mana of colors that are not your commander identity. So felwar stone cannot produce red in an oloro deck even if an opponent has a mountain
That’s not true. Your commander’s color identity is only important when it comes to the symbols included on cards and abilities included in your 99.
Was changed a long time ago.
sol ring should be banned. any card that is a MUST include in LITERALLY every deck should be banned.
I have 1 deck that doesn't use sol ring. Prismatic bridge. I only care about colors. Is optimized to consistently have bridge out in turn 4, possible even in turn 3.
Btw mitch from CQ has a video on the subject and I agree it should not be banned.

Nitpicky much?
