  • Hidden away in basements, garages and spare bedrooms all across the nation are amazing layouts built by very talented master craftsmen that hardly no one gets to see. Here is one that was brought to my attention while at the train show in Timonium last month. A long time subscriber invited me to see his basement layout that he has been working on for over 25 years.
I am currently helping Al Pugliese with his TH-cam Channel where he will showcase his and others layouts, and share his talents with you all!

my layout, which started in 81 took 30+ years and is still underconstruction; its called The Icarus Lines R.R. and it's also inspired by George Selios, the late John Allen and Rod Stewart, yup, THE Rod Stewart

Awesome find Tom. What a spectacular layout, can’t wait for him to do a channel. Is there any chance that while you’re teaching him how to do a TH-cam channel that you could make a video teaching us how to make a TH-cam channel?

Good video of a creative layout built in the old school methods. Also helped me relax by viewing his view of a layout after a stressful work day.

Great video. I love the intro”in many basements in many homes there exist model railroads.” That was of course, a great model railroad with incredible detail and multiple dimensions of lines in the low country and the mountains. I find HO modeling rather rewarding because in my opinion, you can get away with mistakes. The way weather and soot acts on ground and building results in mistakes. Also, the great part of this hobby is if your designs ,backgrounds, and buildings get you pretty close to the image of the real thing, you can have a lot of fun.
