Thanks for this inspiration! I`m a 2200 and this variation was always a nightmare to me! My best setup was h6 and Qf6, but I was never too happy with it. Playing this against let`s say an 1800 is always tough, you need so much patience and the right mindset.
Excellent video, thanks Mio ! Black has the advantage in information in the French Exchange 😉 I heartily agree with you, Nimzo often doesn't get his fair due.
After your French mainlines and sidelines videos, after this third video - you finally convinced me to play the French. It's certainly a way to play for a win, and not at all boring. This exchange variation video is immensely helpful, as the exchange always felt annoyingly slightly better for White most of the time, but this system helps Black fight back. Thanks Mio!
That's true (although I don't play them often 😄) Having to face Tarrasch or Nc3 mainlines with 20 moves of theory would be tough, against a really strong opponent.
Hey there big mio, excellent and exquisite content per usual. This was sorely needed for my french defense repertoire. I'm pretty strong in most variations except this one. So thank you for this. I was also curious if you could do a complete guide on the queens indian defense? Almost no one has ANY content on it all. Like they give you the set up but no ideas or plans. Being a nimzo player I often have to play this and struggle because there's absolutely NO CONTENT on it. And I wouldn't trust anyone more to teach me than you. You've been my french and nimzo teacher and I thank you for all you've taught me. I've gotten strong enough to beat 1800-2000 rated bots thanks to you!
Thanks for the video, Mio!! I don´t play the french but I was looking for a agressive defence in the Budapest Gambit where white plays the sideline 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e5!? 3.e3?! exd4 4.exd4 d5 transposing to the exchange french
Thank you so much for this video Mio ! I have a tournament in one month and these lines are exactly what i needed ! My coach showed me the global idea with O-O-O Nc6 Bd6 Ne7 but i felt totally lost against pawn advance on the queenside. This will be very different now :-) !! I have a question : in the 4.Nf3 line with h3 (at 11:45) why can't we long castle ? Something like Be6 Qd7 O-O-O ?
When you have to choose between …a6 or cxb6 followed by a6, do you have some general rules to help us or is it only about calculation ? Sorry for my poor english and thank you a lot for the content.
It is indeed a boring opening for white. But it was one of the most played positions in the Candidates, so I guess it's also a attempt to win. The better player tends to thrive symmetrical positions.
Excellent video. 💯
Dziękujemy.
Thanks 🙏
Very useful analyses, as always. Thank you very much !

Always my buddy! I used to play French when I was younger and its way better for weaker guys, not vs IMs and GMs

@@MiodragPerunovicOfficial The French was played several times in the recent Candidates tournament. You can't get stronger opposition than that !

Hello from Argentina!! in the Petroff, you also find similar ideas.
French Exchange is an improved Petroff for Black !
thank you!!
Welcome 🙏
Big Mio would you prefer to play with the Amazon queen or a queen and a knight?
Whats the Amazon Queen?
@@MiodragPerunovicOfficial she moves like the queen and jumps when moving like a knight
Dobro veće! Pozdrav iz Trstenika. Interesuje me da li su ikada zvaničnu turnirsku partiju odigrali Fišer i Karpov?
Verujem da nisu.
Hvala na odgovoru! Ako ikada nadjete neku partiju, objavite.
I’m still waiting for your answer Miodrag perunovic

Usually ...cxb6 followed by ...a6 is right.
Mogu li malo lakse ti potezi , previse brzo ?
Ne mogu, postoji pause/stop 😊

I disagree. Drawish positions favours the draw, hence the weaker player.
