That’s the whole point, right? You play relatively rare moves, but they are commonly answered by mistakes.
The computer is not impressed with these openings, which is why the moves are kind of rare on higher level, but humans struggle with them because there are only one or two hard to find good moves and many obvious moves that turn out to be blunders.
Finding these line is like digging for gold and it’s really cool that we can use computer databases to analyse human play.

Loved the video! Quick question - at 12:36 , why wouldn’t Qxd5 at the very least save black? White’s queen is forced to either trade or lose all sight on the king, and Re1 is no longer mate

I have a suggestion though, let's just delay moving the kingside knight and always have a white bishop attached to our king. I think that prevents a lot of problem with the spaces at my queenside and prevent that queen mating. Sometimes knight to h6 is the move to trade off white's dark square bishop to prevent such traps, while giving an opportunity to place the rook in front of the castled king.
The mainline 2 knights has even more french players falling for tricks
8:34 Actually Nb4 is not playable for black because after Nc7+ kd7 Nxa8 Nxc2+ qxc2! qxc2? White has beautiful checkmate bb5#! I didn't check it with computer so maybe black can play qxa1+ instead of qxc2 but it still amazing mate net that I thought u would really like.

After Queen captures b2 and knight b6 Queen b4 is a possibly good move, having a fork on the night and king, if bishop d2 or even queen b2, horse c3, black wins over the horse.

this gambit is so incredible that after bishop takes f pawn and queen takes b pawn, the engine says white is winning (depth =29)!

Funny enough, I play French, and the position at 4:16 is one that I exactly encountered. I moved Qb6 fortunately, avoiding the trap. :)

I learned about these trappy lines from GJ_Chess, shoutout to him! They got me so many free wins in the past, though I play a more solid repertoire vs the French now with an e4, e5, Nc3 setup now. I have to say the 2 knights Variation is GREAT to learn though.

@@kaishah2822 It amazed me how many free wins I got from opponents just making losing moves right out of the opening in those lines. If they play accurately it is tough to win with though.
Same but I find after Nc3, if the play Nf6, I play E5, they play Nd7, I play Nf3 and it transposes - probably 50% of the time they play Nf6 on move 3.
But what if black plays d4 after Nc3 on move 3
He sacrificed the two rooks for a very nice attack, COOL!

I assume these traps were exposed with computer analysis, I don't remember seeing them in books.
Funny how computers have exposed weaknesses where none were thought to exist before.
These are important lines French players should know, and those looking for ways to fight the French.... But like any other trap, if the trap isn't sprung there's no assurance the trapper can play the resulting position even to a draw.
@15:47 after ....Qxg5+, Nxg5 Nc6,..... I am basically forcing you to exchange your last bishop for my Knight...which could lead to a pretty good game for black....

15:30 Lc0 finds black plays Qf1. If bishop captures queen then knight captures queen. if not in another line black is better with 2 rooks vs 1 queen. For months i beleived this trick after i watched GJ chess video but what if my opponent finds Qf1+.
Mate in 13 according to Stockfish 11 after Nd1. Nd1 has been played in a game in New Delhi in 2009 and did win.

This illustrates why the real mistake is 1...e6. It doesn't auto-lose, but there are so many lines you can go wrong and just lose. And if you don't go wrong, you might get a strong line and be almost equal.

I actually played 6..Be7?? when I was a 1600 player against a 1000 player. That game ended in a draw.
