Fantastic video, thanks! Using this to prep a match against player > 400 points higher and I won largely down to the prep. Plays so easily in the 3. Bxf6 line.

As a trompowsky player this video title surely is scary! I think it's still a very good opening, easily beat 2300-2400 guys with it. Curious to see what you think is the best line against it.

it's a great opening, especially because Ne4 is so complicated and you'll have more experience navigating it than the people you're playing against. What's your least favorite line to play against?

Hello Maya, what generosity and empathy towards us, thank you very much for your good mood. I have just finished a tournament and on the alapine you showed us with Black 2... g6 my opponent exchanges in the center and I therefore play against the isolated pawn. I made a promising draw. Continue to delight us, it makes us very happy. Good for you Maya.

The e6 lines often give improved versions of these immediate d5 (and also improved Advance/McCutcheon French, usually) lines but you have to know many different plans/structures, even more than d5. I think it's not SO much more complicated than d5 or Raptor, and there are no pawn-sac lines you have to go into. So maybe people who are uncomfortable with pawn sacs and who play the McCutcheon will prefer e6, do you know of any problems for it?

I love the move order with 1.c3 as black. It's the same thing as D5 but it certainly makes players more enticed to take on f6 of their own accord (from my experience). Opponent thinks you are trying to go Qa5+ and win the bishop so they just take.
