I've struggled against the French. Now I have ideas! Thank you!
Thx Master. So clear and complete every time!
Great advice! I'll employ this line
Please Mio stop I only play the french, don't teach this
I stopped playing French cause of exchange varition lol
Very nice lesson
Thanks Mio. I have noticed when I play French as Black on the club level, younger players like to immediately exchange on move 3. They incorrectly assume it will be a boring easy game for White.
Thanks Danny :) That’s a good observation 👍
Big Mio thank you!!!!!!
yeah, thanks to Zelensky for good ideas
Great opening chess lecture ! thanks Mio . I enjoyed this video over dinner with some fresh schnitzel, crushed garlic and just 1 cup of Pinot noir red wine . Perfect !
Haha, good choice 👍 🥗🍷
Nice video, beautiful t-shirt, best coach ever!
Hahah, did you see that 😃
Thanks
For some real fun chess try the Orthoschnapp gambit. e4 e6 c4 d5 cxd5 exd5 Qb3. Difficult for black to castle kingside and develop the dark bishop. Cheers guys.
Yes, this is very nice and attacking line. I remember I saw some Russian GM (some 20 years ago) to exchange pawns on move 3, then play Bf4, Qd2, 0-0-0, f3 and similar plan like you did vs 3...Nf6 🙂 Right now, can't remember his name, but those plans are very nice. Especially because French players would be out of their comfort zone, with position more resembling Sicilian!
👍
Nice lines. When will there be butcher the French 🙌
Wow! This often looks like White's attack vs the Dragon or Pirc/Modern! Good stuff!
True :)
Hello! I was wondering if you could make an english opening video (for white) some time soon. I love your vidoes (especially the nimzo indian and caro kann ones)!
Take care
Great video. Any chance you do a video with the 1.e4 e6 2. b3 d5 3.Bb2 variation?
Great video Mr. Miodrag! I will keep 4. cxd4 as my main move vs. 3... Nf6, but against 3... Bb4, I like Nge2 better, the Alekhine-Maróczy Gambit.
Agreed!
Thanks master. Now I can’t play the French anymore 😢 your videos are amazing 😊
Thank you too Paul!
Thanks a lot, I won so many games against IMs and GMs using this system! Another question, how to kill Rubinshtein system(3…dxe4?)
Attack attack and only attack! 😃💪💪
As a french defense player I should watch this
Mio, that's s decent video but one I really want to see and I'm sure lots of viewers would like to see is the Nimzovich French 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.e5 c5 4.Nf3. Can we please please 🙏 get a video of this soon.....
This is essentially required reading for any e4 player around 2000
I get every French player out of theory on move 2 with Qe2 followed by a Kings Indian structure. I found this via the lichess player database as a very practical approach. To my surprise, it is the best-scoring move even in the master's database despite c5 being considered a refutation. This can lead to dynamic positions even with double fianchetto which is usually the opposite of what a French player wants.
I tend concentrate more on the first 6 moves or so in these setups because the positions can become so random quickly. At my beginning level players tend to be more attack than position or defense early, myself included because beginners blunder under pressure. For instance, on move 4 or so in the first game what if black plays Ne4 instead of castling, before white can play f3? An exchange is forced due to the attack on the queen and what is white best move after? Or is this just a losing line for black?
Sir, I win against my friend on Blitz. His elo is 2100.
Thanks for the lesson
While I am only 1400 on Blitz but 1900 on Rapid
All the best champ! 💪
Wait what do you do for dxe4 the Rubinstein variation?
I don't know the play against the French so I play 2. Qe2 because they think I'm not serious. And then sometimes I win. This looks better.
Great video with some nice ideas to take the French Defence players out of their normal solid comfort zone. Please consider making a Butcher the French Chessable Course.
In a max two months, Butcher the Skandinavian is coming out! Get ready for it! 😊
@@MiodragPerunovicOfficial will there be a short and sweet version?
@@tobymurphy6744 Of course! But it is going to be done in details, so tbh, the whole course would be highly preferable, if one wants to learn how to kill famous annoying Skandinavian 😉
@@MiodragPerunovicOfficial Hi Mio im excited to watch your video against scandinavian defense!

❤❤❤❤
1:48 What about the Rubenstein or the fort Knox?
10:12 my ear like it in airpods, I feel a push))))
🤣
Better sequence is first to chage on d5 and then to play Nc3
Mio, do you think you could show some french gameplay from blacks point of view? Possibly the classical or winer? I'm in need of some good ideas of how to play those. Everyone shows whites point of view..but never ideas for black. And you're always so thorough. Sincerely a big fan :)
I will make it at one point, why not 😉
And the Rubinstein ?
Go and find on the channel
NOOOOOOOOOO 😱
😆
