Hey mate try marinating the squid tubes in milk for 24hrs before cooking. Makes them so tender! This is what I do with all the fresh and frozen squid I cook :)
I tried this recipe tonight. My big mistake was not to pat dry the squids so as I was cooking I had a lot of liquid seep out. I was able to redeem myself a bit by removing the squid mid cook and then drying it. I'm going to give it another go but overall it was nice thank you.
Great recipe. Would be even better with freshly caught squid, if you're lucky! Just a quick question, I'm so happy with my Weber,(I have the medium size), but I am so disappointed in the grates. I've had it since 2015 and had one set replaced under warranty, and now that set is falling apart. The ceramic coating is flaking off, which I think is a health hazard. I was told because we live near the coast, the chances of degradation is higher, even though it is always covered. I see you have links to the cast iron plates on Amazon, do you have those, and what are your thoughts on them? I would be interested, but the postage is through the roof!! Thanks, Kerry.
The grates in the link are just as good as the Weber ones , with the grates are you just cleaning with the brush or dipping it in water to steam off debri. As this is what Weber used to recommend then stopped recommending using water as if you put to much on when hot it can crack enamel causing it to peel and rust . When I buy things from links it try to order more items that way it makes the postage cheaper spread across various items.
@@WeberEnthusiast Just had a further question. Is the grate you purchased full cast iron? I'm not happy at all with the coated grates. Mine are only lasting just out of the warranty period. I only use the Weber wire brush on mine. I wish they were full cast iron. Weber hasn't been very helpful, yes replaced them once when the bbq was under warranty within the 5 year period, but told me subsequent grates only have a 2 year warranty. I'm annoyed I have to spend $100 every few years because the coating comes off. It is a health hazard, it stuck to steak once, because it is flaking and rusting so much. The Weber is kept fully covered and out of the weather, too. Kerry
Hi Kerry the grates are just as good as the Weber ones , when I ordered mine I ordered more bbq stuff which spread the postage across so made it a lot cheaper . If you are amazon prime member aswell I’m pretty sure postage is cheaper aswel.
Thank you for the info, but I am wondering if those Amazon plates you purchased have the coating, or are they straight cast iron? I am looking at purchasing cast iron, and wanted to know what they are like. Thanks.
@@kerryb1653 they are Matt cast iron and work just as-well as Weber ones , they recommend you season with oil by brushing cooking oil on before using them .

Oh no , tastes better when you pat dry the squid . Good luck with the next squid . Thanks for comment and continued support .👍
I like this receipe, definitely gave me some ideas but I prefer putting squid on the grills as it drains the excess water/liquid.
Wow this looks absolutely delicious 😍
Thsnkyou , tastes amazing . My partner wouldn’t eat squid so had to eat them all myself.
Well worth the wait though 👌👌
Probably the dullest knife on youtube :D But great dish though! Love Squid, love it grilled!
Chopped the of my finger off with that knife while chopping onion,
So I’m very cautious now 😂
