Fantastic recipe, thanks Nikki. I found that if you slice the tops (on one side) of the calamari, the marinade seeps in and grills even the middle portion. Slice, add capers to your lemon dressing and it was absolutely amazing!
@@NikkisModernMediterranean We actually loved it. I had frozen calamari, and followed your recipe as is and cook them in a vegetable basket for BBQ. I did them on charcoal, they came out delicious - really an easy recipe. I also did large raw shrimps using the same concept, they also were as delicious.
What A great recipe. I tried it today and it's so simple. The grilled calamari is delicious. I have always ordered this when I go to Greek restaurant and now I can make it at home. Thanks for sharing.
For me, the taste of Greece was always grilled Kalamari with olive oil and peta or a grilled lamb with peta, tzatziki, olives and red onions. Is amazing, just like Greek women and Greek beaches.
Looks fantastic. The only thing missing is adding finely cut garlic in the last sauce you added, like a gremolata sauce. Can't eat calamari without it.
Squid should either be cooked in a minute or so or an hour. I think when she says, leave it on for 3 to 5 minutes on each side, you’re gonna be eating rubber.
I like the look of the recipe but I don’t understand the cooking time. She says “3 to 5 mins each side”. That means the total cook time is 6-10 mins which is the ‘rubber zone’. Everyone else recommends cooking it faster or else much longer. So how come this works? Anyone actually tried it?
Cooked far too long. 3minutes each side as she says and you end up with tough, chewy squid. Cook squid v quickly or long and slow (umido de calamaria). Thought she said she was an expert
You inconsistently use your accent while saying Calamari. Just say it the way you want to and stop trying so hard, it’s a little cringe. Other than that, everything else including the editing was awesome!
wonderfel beky im gona do it for dinner myself, thanks for yhe recepi
Wow ... looks yummy!
Thank you 😋
Your calamari looks simply delicious. Simple, easy to prepare. An excellent presentation. Thanks for sharing.

The tentacles are indeed the best part!
Greek food is one of the best in the world, from the land to the sea, it's all so good!!!!!
Just made it with defrosted squid and it turned out wonderful. Thank you for the recipe!
My pleasure 😊
Such a better idea than just sprinkling sea salt when they're on the grill. Can't wait to try this recipe!

I love how she used bigger calamari. So much texture and it doesn’t shrivel up compared to the smaller ones. Can’t wait to try this!

Nice ❤❤❤
i put garlic in my version, is that odd?
Not at all
what can i use if i don't have a grill?
You can use a frie pan with a touch of olive oil
Ive been to beaches all over the world, and the best are the Greek Islands, Paros especially on East coast.
I also love to make octopus that way.
Looks fantastic. The only thing missing is adding finely cut garlic in the last sauce you added, like a gremolata sauce. Can't eat calamari without it.
Thanks for the tip!
yeah i finely grate one clove and also add celery seed along with the oregano but try to keep it simple
Yum 🤤
So good 👌👌👌
Gotta clean those rings after this prep 😂😂😂!!!
😮😮😮❤
Its cold by the time it reaches the table with this method
Then your supposed to order dinner ?
I love you Nikki 💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
The hardest part for me during cleaning calamari is getting the “pin” out. It’s like a cartilage spine that runs the length of the body.
The way we grilled our squid. Recommend >>>

I find the calamari is a little tough when it's grilled..
A simple and a good recipe! But please do learn how to hold a knife properly.
😂
Excellent but please drop the attempt at an accent on the word 'calamari'
My grandfather said you are gorgeous!
Should I be offended that you say we do it like that in Greece?
Why are you adding a d to the name?
Char broiled is so much better than fried. Your missing out if you love squid.
Agreed 👍 👍
I am so shocked. No garlic????
Why does she change her accent when she says Calamari?
No garlic ? No go
Maybe you should clean them first, lol
Shouldn't you be advising us to use actual measuring spoons vs. a coffee spoon?
I award you the best charismatic stylish gorgeous sexy super chef 2021
Nope, it’s all about the taste. Pretty things might taste bad, lol.
Ελληνικότατο
That looks tough. Cooked too long.
My kind of babe
Hurry up
thats not a marinade
no jewelry while cooking

Thought she said she was an expert
Talks totally normal until saying the word calamari. Weird
You inconsistently use your accent while saying Calamari. Just say it the way you want to and stop trying so hard, it’s a little cringe.

is this a boy or a girl
She didn’t eat any of it, don’t trust the recipe.
Lemon/garlik olive oil-even better. Thank you.
This is the greasy way...
Bruh idk who told you paprika has a flavor
