6 years until he's a free agent but 3 years before arbitration, arbitration is the more awkward one since its the teams job to undercut and the player will think he's worth more so free agency is where the real money comes in

This has been rumor for a while now but somebody make it make sense why the hell would Sasaki or his club do this?? Okay I guess for Sasaki he is young and doesn’t want to waste years in Japan. He gives up money now, markets himself, and bets on himself. He’ll be 300 plus million dollars in his prime. But his club loses tens of millions why would they do this??? What am I missing here? You are ansolutely right. It makes no sense for Lotte, they lose about 50MIL plus Sasaki for nothing if they do this now. If Lotte agrees to grant Sasaki`s wish now, that could be if they had some previous agreement, just like Ohtani and Nippon Ham, although I doubt it.

I think you fail to understand that even if your favorite shitty ass team threw the same amount if not more money at these NPB stars than the dodgers are offering they still wouldn’t go. Dodgers starting rotation: sasaki, Yamamoto, ohtani, Glashow, Buehler, Stone, Flaherty
Sign him! Then let's go back to back!
Dodgers having War tactics
Sure I'm a long time Dodgers fan and I won't mind at all if the team signs him Juan Soto Corbin Burnes or Max Fried to continue to build the team into a dynasty dream team. A rotation of Shohei Yamamoto Glasnow Buheler Sasaki and Burnes or Fried would be great.
Great? If they stay healthy it would be lethal. That’s 6 man rotation with long rest between starts and each pitcher is top of order level pitcher. Fried and Burnes are perennial top 5 Cy Young candidates. The Japanese guys all have deadly stuff. The “weak” link would be Glasnow and Bueler with durability concerns but if they stay healthy are actually aces. This can’t be true. If it is Dodgers would be getting an ace level pitcher and still have money to sign another ace in Burnes or Fried and still have money left over to sign Adames after resigning Teo …. Insane.
@dfchang813 they do thanks to the deferred money in the contracts of Ohtani Betts Freeman and Smith the combined deferred money from their contracts is almost a billion dollars
Fvck no we don't need Soto man
@siphosethumbaba7559 that's fine but reports of the team moving Mookie Betts back to the infield which leaves a open spot in right field a position Soto does play is interesting
He will most likely win Roki of the year
The 29 teams outside the Dodgers have no shot
Dodgers made smart moves. Any ownership could have done the same.
This is why Japan are the World Champions. They have some of the best players if not the best ever
If he signed a deal this offseason how long would he be under a low salary before he gets paid? Surprised he wouldn't just wait till he is 25.
Arbitration starts after 3 years
6 years until he's a free agent but 3 years before arbitration, arbitration is the more awkward one since its the teams job to undercut and the player will think he's worth more so free agency is where the real money comes in
@@BourneIdentity45 if you’re a superstar you get paid pretty well Soto made 31 mill this past season 17 million in 22 and 23 million in 23
@ he won the World Series when he was 20 and because of his hype and agent he was able to garner that price tag I’m not saying Sasaki isn’t able to reach that level I’m just saying things have to line up right for people to get paid a lot before their free agency years Shohei only got paid that 30 in his last year as an angel whereas the other 2 it was basically 4 million a year
Lets go Dodgers, welcome Roki!
These kids grew up watching Nomo pitching for the Dodgers. Of course he’s gonna be a Dodger
Nomo pitched with well with the Dodgers until 2003. Yamamoto was only 4 years old, Sasaki was 2. They did not grwo up watching Nomo I believe.
He’s a once in a generation talent. Better than Yamamoto and Ohtani as a pitcher 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yu Darvish was the highest paid "first dibs" to the tune of 51.7 million dollars for any MLB "prospect".
I don’t see any leverage for Sasaki.
Basically it's up to Roki what team he wants. The posting fee is only 790k
Dodgers building a Samurai army 💪🏻

Major League Baseball will be renamed Dodger League Baseball soon
Could destroy baseball? Bro the viewership would be insane and baseball would grow so much I love this for baseball the amount of potential legends we are seeing is so enticing
Bro just mean destroy other baseball team. But the viewership gonna go up. Audience like dynasty, i.e Yankees, Patriots, Lakers, GSW
Imagine murakami also joins the dodgers after sasaki
Then the Dodgers will be too OP 😂
Don't his been injured every season. He never completed a season without injury for past three years.
Homie Is gonna be a Dodger I guarantee it😊
Dodger getting him! Giants fans 😢.
With the ball size difference in America that's very fast pitch he might not have full grip of, but you still want pitcher to have change up because HUMAN ump can not really follow close pitches those speeds or breaks.
sasaki is gonna be really popular couse he is handsome.
Dodgers are going to play in Japan more and have a stadium for the Dodgers.
Yea he did throw that hard but last season his velocity was down to 97 average
As a dodgers fan, I hope so 🤟🏿
Ohtani like check this out lil bro we need to talk lol he coming to the dodgers LETSSS GOOO!!!
The guy knew exactly what he was doing when he chose to defer most of his contract money, now watch the Dodgers sign every great Japanese player to build a powerful team around Ohtani.
We need a salary cap in the league and deferrals should not be over powered. The league has to step it up in the next CBA
I think you fail to understand that even if your favorite shitty ass team threw the same amount if not more money at these NPB stars than the dodgers are offering they still wouldn’t go. These players want to be part of a potential dynasty in the making. They’re not going to go to the blue jays, giants, or whatever backwater team you can think of
Well, there's no doubt that Sasaki is an outstanding pitcher, but his body isn't durable. Thers is another excellent pitcher, Hiroto Takahashi. He's playing for a team where Ima naga used to play. He went thought the rotation throughout the year without any problem and he's got some really good stuffs. I heard that MLB scouting teams had been following him for a while, so it's just a matter of time till we'll be hearing his name from the medias.
25歳まであと何年かかるのか、もったいないなあ
Smh Dodgers really want to make a three headed dragon
Roki to the mariners plz. Lower stress for the guy, just as close to home as LA. Good pitching club for him to develop at.
Boring.
No playoffs and World Series appearances sounds so appealing 😂😂😂
Put yourself in Roki’s shoes. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense for him to want to go to LA.
Being pushed to give up 0 runs for wins just for a chance to miss the playoffs by one game is not a low stress environment lol
Oh and also no winning a world series title ever with The Mariners😂😂😂
Dodgers have the inside track on ALL Japanese talent thanks to Ohtani. Ohtani is the gift that keeps on giving
Yamamoto is 4th in endorsement money his rookie year. It’s only going up from there. Sasaki would lose money going anywhere else. I’m also sure Tanaka running away from mlb because of all the racists in New York isn’t gonna help yanks/mets any.
They can’t keep getting away with this😫😫😫😫
And this is definitely without talking about Glasnow and Walker Buehler rounding out the rotation. Oh yeah, and guess who will be pitching in 2025...yep, Shohei. Lordy!!!
Nobody in the MLB has an answer to this mans Ligma pitch.
He’s a once in a generation talent. Better than Yamamoto and Ohtani as a pitcher 🔥
@ my brother, you have not seen Ohtani’s “Sugma” pitch and Yamato’s “Bofa” pitch yet.
Tokyo Dodgers so Brooklyn rightfully takes back it's roots :D
The Los Angeles Dodgers of Japan lol 😂
Thank you so much Clayton but we gotta make room. Enjoy your HOF retirement.😢
We need all the best Japanese players here in the US
Dodgers is collecting Japanese infinity stones.
Pearl Harbor #2 😭😭
Crazy 😂
Goatsaki in the making❤💪🔥
