Impressive recovery with the bulldozer. I appreciate your knowledge of mechanical leverage instead of brute strength destroying stuff like you can see on other TH-cam channels.
Dude, I love your videos! I'm a huge fan of Matt's Off-road. You are definitely different in your approach, but I understand because the soil/climate/terrain there is so different. Keep posting.
Yes sir, we have done that a few times in the past, we have also used the tracks to help pull before But typically the tracks are under so blade is easier but chains to the tracks work better (if tracks move)
That mechanical advantage on that 5 part winch lead, man i never would have thought that would move that dozer at all, much less sunk and suctioned in the mud
Amazing how many people like to keep it floored and it makes things worse 90% of the time especially in the snow or if you do not have a really aggressive tire that needs to be cleaned out. And then they will spin until it sets on the frame rather than admitting defeat when they are at a point where anything can pull them out
Don't over heat the winch motor. Mine is a 2003 Warn 9.5ti I bought it new. It has a LED light on the controller and flashes when it gets too hot. It also came with 125 feet of line and the winch still works great. I plan on installing it on my gladiator.
Would be great if their was a liquid cooled winch motor housing that could get you much longer load pull times, could use your jeep cooling fan to remove the heat since your engine is running anyway.
Hey Matt !!! Great recovery of the Others & Dozer Thanks to the ""HOLM'S"" Trees & the Dozer Blade !!!! Saw you throw a shirt over the tow line to see if it moved & the Dozer as a smart move there !!! Hope You & Family had ""FUN"" at ""WILDWOOD"" !!!! 🙃😉🙂 👍👍👍👍👍
The purpose of throwing the jacket over the line is to act as a deadener and prevent snapback should the line part. IMO, it would be more efficient placed more towards the mid point of the line. If you ever experienced a nylon towing hawser parting you'll understand. It'll take a leg (or head) off.
If you run a snatch block on your first line, it would double the pull on the rest of your lines effectively making this setup a 10:1. But you would probably start snapping lines.
Lesson of unsticking track vehicle’s . If you stop the track from rotating the track vehicle will walk inside the track and remove itself . The tracks have to be anchored to a very solid object.
Your winch and cable must be pretty heavy duty plus hold all of that cable. Your knowledge is the only reason a jeep could pull 33,000 pounds out when the tracks were out of sight. Makes you wonder how he was able to get that far into that soft ground before getting buried.
Nearly every one of your vids I catch myself screaming at the drivers you are pulling out "STOP SPINNING YOU EFFING MORON"!!!!!!!!!! I cant stand idiots, and I have the shirt that say's that, lol (CSI)
Right set up and got all the Right stuff you can do it wot almost anything. I do kinda same thing and never once had a problem not once and I have a Z71 Tahoe 03. And a 1989 Branco 2 4 banger I pulled dump truck out wit that in shyt back wheels couldn't see up mid way front bumper soft clay mud .

Other youtube channels?? Appart from Heavy D who is destroying stuff? ...Casey? Nope, Ron? Nope. Rory? Nope The other Matt? Nope.

Homie got a bulldozer stuck. He must be related to me. I can get an M1 Abrahams tank stuck on my concrete driveway. lol...
that looks like it was a brutal day slogging out and back over and over. I admire your professional demeanor. Thanks
love all your videos. honestly I don't know how those electric winches keep going. You definitely put them to work!
Mr Matt Nice trick with the blade. I will have to rember that. Awesome recovery. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.

When I worked for the Florida Forest Service we learned real fast how to unstick dozers.
I worked for GFC same thing here in southwest ga
Have to use Mats everywhere now
If the guys with the truck and trailer would have kept his foot off the gas it would have worked better!
Absolutely
Just a couple of clueless boomers
Seems like alot of ur customers need driving lessons, but it's working for u !! Thanks for sharing
Should have never unhooked it to begin with

Interesting to think about how all the pulling stress gets distributed to each winch line attachment point. Very cool!

Great recovery on the dozer. too bad it was dark.
This is experience is needed, to kow what you are capable of and what your not ! - Awesome Recovery
Ive been around pulling a few pieces of heavy equipment out of rivers in SC on santee river , and sunk trackhoes . Thats no joke of a Job!
Would be great if their was a liquid cooled winch motor housing that could get you much longer load pull times, could use your jeep cooling fan to remove the heat since your engine is running anyway.
Sensational effort getting that dozer out
That jeep should be about 8" longer by now

👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you, it’s gonna be good for sure
And then we have a lot more trips plans in the near future but those are on the down low 😉

Was a really good vid, but youtube started throwing too many commercials at me so i ditched it. TH-cam is really going to screw its creators.

I assume your winch cable isnt long enough for this 5 to 1 with 4 turns. Can you show this set up at some point with your cable extensions?
Correct we only have 100 on winch and used a 200 foot extension

Those night recovery seemed to be challenging. 😢
Palatka is my neck of the woods. Looks like the side of 19S just west of Palatka.
Crazy tough accomplishment there!
Wow, amazing.
How may feet of rope are you running? Is it one long length, or are your using extentions?
100’ on winch and a 200’ extension
We carry several extensions at all times and a lot more in the shop ready to go

We carry extensions all that cable isn’t on the drum

No matter how many times I tell them do not spin
They always do
Or drop the trailer they are pulling....
Don't forget turning the steering wheel to the right while being pulled to the left!
I lived in Palatka from 77-83. Far out...
what is the weakest link in this 5 part pull
Second comment to Matt been watching your Videos on TH-cam you sure know what you are doing with all of those different Pulleys
Thanks, glad you are enjoying the vids
The guy in the dodge did he have it in 4 high instead of 4low and low gear ??
Yep
I live in Orlando , I’m come
See ya. Bringing a cold one!
Great job
Amazing smarts. What winch are you using?
Warn Zeon 10-S
@@matt.mckinzie thank you
So what was the dozer guys final bill? And how many hours were you there? Great work man
Just a quick question, did you learn this in the military? Just asking because trial and error seems hard on equipment. Or were you mentored?
Ex rotator operator and crane rigger
Its always in the dark and wet .......
I'm up north so its always dark and snowing........
That’s when they give up typically
Where is Wildwood at?
Near OCALA florida
4222 N US Hwy 301
Wildwood, FL 34785
United States
Is that a recovery ring not a snatch block I see?
Yes, we were testing them back then
You guys ROCK !!!!!
lol I work next door to that place. On wamesly rd
What is your winch lb rating?
12k
When I saw it
I said no way
So what is the Number?
Once again more with less! Brain power rules
What winch are you running?
Warn Zeon 10-S
Wish izuzu had kept making the trooper, they were tough off road vehicles with bigger tires.
Duct tape wont help a pressurized coolant line
Do you ever tell the driver to not spin their wheels or tracks? it’s so counter productive as they are digging a hole while you winch. 👍🏽
Every single job and they rarely listen
That winch is earning its pay……
mmmh... too easy! next time take your SxS for a buldozer :p
That dozer was stuck bad
I’m going to have to look for the trump duck.
Johnnysautotowing gave you the # , and him to call you ,
Yes sir we appreciate the lead
That rigging on the dozer was only 4 to one.
Ok sure
You can not take a car out into SAND
What head unit / GPS are you using on your dash there, beside Donald Trump Duck?
Garmin overland 10”
Thank you@@matt.mckinzie
if the guys would have not gotten involved
