That young man is to be respected! He accessed the situation and called the the dispatcher and owner to explain he wasn't doing the job as he didn't want to wreck the truck! So many drivers today have the attitude of its not mine so who cares! I'm going to show new drivers this, because I would rather send a different truck to do the job, instead of hundreds or thousands of dollars in damages to repair as well as the truck unable to work!
YIKES! I wonder who worked on that Bus . The tie rod did not break , it came out of the tie rod adjusting sleeve because the pinch bolts were missing! Maybe in a weird way it was a blessing that she was on that road and not on a highway at 70 mph. Eventually that tie road was going to come loose from the sleeve. Good job getting her out! She did have a good attitude for sure! I think that it is human nature to have read the videos heading and think that she must have had a really bad attitude. Goes to show us not to judge a book by its cover or a video by its caption!
Yeah she really wasn’t thinking, but once on that track she’s committed, she couldn’t turn around, gotta give her some credit for building the bus then getting out and using it, a lot of people her age would be at a cafe sitting on the sidewalk, drinking a twelve dollar cup of coffee complaining about house prices.
At the same time, I have a 1995 chevy g20 and we had a 20ft travel trailer about 6k pounds..no 4wd and with the right driver(myself) we went down some seriously rough roads while we were boondocking. You wouldn't believe what these vans can do off-road as a 2wd even loaded down or as a bus conversion..the lady definitely wasn't in the right skill category.
That was one of the best, off road recoveries I have seen. Straight forward and very careful not to tear up more than what was already damaged. Tough to do on a road like that. And to Pete the Bus, stay off two tracks with rocks and stick to bladed maintained dirt roads only.
Putting a sling on Hellboy is the coolest addition so far. Makes that unit a one man band when you need it to be. I always go with the church bus as my first choice for off-roading over my lifted F 350 every day of the week. Thanks for sharing!
Wow cant believe she went down that road! As soon as you see huge rocks everywhere something in ur head should say hmm I gotta turn around. Yes she did have a good attitude!
Wrecker rick at it again hellboy flexing it's muscle, showing its versitility getting the job done with ease, great job done by all thanks for taking us along.
Kudos to you sir! This is my first year traveling as I converted a box truck to a tiny home. Not only did you have the right equipment, but you were definitely the right operator. People don't understand how nice it is to get someone that knows what they're doing!
Super Job!! You just showed me a gentle side of your abilities. I have worked off road most of my life and love Hell Boy for its ability. I worked in the hills of WV and the terrain was worse in my job but I am impressed coming from a humbled individual.

Hell boy has to be ready to relax after this rescue. That trans clutch has to be saying Thank God this is over. Nice work. And yes I couldn’t believe her positive attitude during the whole situation.

Nice recovery. I have a shuttle bus about that size, 34 ft, RV converted. It's amazing how many places it can get through.but most of us don't consider what will happen if it breaks down. When mine had a "no start" issue camping just off a tight paved mountain road. The 20 ton wrecker needed, itself fairly long and heavy, was just barely able to navigate that narrow windy road to get to it. Add the length of the bus and there was only one way the two of us were going to get it out. He lifted my bus from the back end, with me in the driver's seat steering the front end of the bus to make it round all those curves. Facing backwards, with only my mirrors to see whats happening, no power steering. It was quite the workout, both physically and mentally, but we got it out without damage to either rig (sorry, no video of). And honestly, some of the places I'd taken it before could have become it's final resting place if this had happened there. So lesson learned, respect earned. Now everywhere I consider taking the bus, where and how I park it. I'm looking at all of it with a fresh set of eyes, a recovery point of view. Making choices that will make recovery easier, if ever needed again.
That sounds like it would have made a great video! folks don’t realize these converted units are that heavy, that they need a large medium or heavy wrecker to tow them. Thanks for the recovery story, stay classy !

Who thought going off road in that bus was a good plan? That wheel must've been well shredded for a while. The woman's attitude was definitely weird, for the love of Pete. Nice job getting it out! 👌👍
Those baileys chains are pretty badass! I like having the strength and you don’t have to worry about smashing metal (as much) and scratching the hell out of stuff.
Hey! I live around the Flagstaff area and have used you guys for tows with our work vehicles, I had no idea you had a TH-cam! Right on! I love your rig with the tracks lol
A little reminiscent of my old church bus. I bought a 1959 Chevy Viking 60 with a 283 and a vacuum shift axle. Had an 8 row Carpenter coach body. I bought it in Nebraska for $400 in 1979. I drove it from Nebraska to New York to California and then to Oregon and New York and back to California and left it in Oregon in 1987. I had it on some fire roads in California and on one road had it stuck 3 times in one day. I self-extracted with a Hi-Lift jack all 3 times. In all that time I only had 2 tires fail and they were on the duallys not the steering axle.
You have to keep the truck driver, he saved you a lot of money and time by not getting himself in a situation when he knew better. And I'm more than impressed with Hell Boy. You made it just right for what you do. I'm Shure Casey would have called you if he saw the job 😂. You treated her like a professional Rick and didn't put a scratch on her bad Larry 😂😂.

I take it that HellBoy is an Auto Matic I prefer a Manual trans with a strong clutch & pressure plate they don't require a hole lot of reving up of the motor to get moving or at least my 2002 Dodge Ram Cummins with the 6 speed doesn't just put it in 1st gear and easy out the clutch and it's rolling pull a 32ft camper that weighs 10,000 lbs and have pulled heavy logs with it ! If needed can use the 4 low gear in certain situations like rough terrain or dirt roads to move whatever I'm pulling ! But I do like the set up you have for recovery those big tires and the suspension gives you the upper hand on where it can go ! Great job bringing that church bus outta there with no further damage ! 👍👍 Gotta give that young man a 👍👍 up also for realizing that heavy wrecker wasn't the right tool for the job !

But nice job and truck you got there, thanks for showing and telling y’all have a great day see ya next time on video see ya bye.
Sure glad she justified it all with what they did was "ok." I mean it wasn't wrong by any means. Why try to justify it at all? It is what happened. No need to feel insecure. Stand up be strong and handle it. We love you.
Great video Wrecker Rick!!! How nice to see hellboy doing the Lord's work🤣🤣. Kudos to Hayden for not taking the wrecker any further down that goat track. Were those folks setting-up "Pete" as a moble meth lab??🤔🤔
To all the folks trashing that gal - she's obviously got a "can do attitude" since she built the bus, and she wanted to use it, but obviously she didn't have the knowledge or people in her circle to help make an informed decision. Not everyone is so lucky as to have all the knowledge and "common sense".. But now that she has made the mistake, I'm willing to bet that she will be more cautious and not do the same thing again. The best way to learn is to make mistakes, right?
From a 73 year old man that has worked with machinery all my life. I am VERY glad I am NOT your transmission. It has to be as hot as fire by the time you got the truck and buss back on the trailer. You NEED lower gears.
I am thinking more along the lines of more torque to the Ground. maybe Torque converter change. That motor has what it needs. The gears should be Good enough.
@@CharlieWhitewolf Why do you think the 18 wheelers have from 13 to 18 gears? If a tractor and trailer are loaded HEAVY they need to start out VERY VERY slowly. If this truck had lower gears it would not be LUGGING as much while trying to pull a heavy load.
Looks like a hell of a nice recovery rig you've built! You need to get yourself some tractor weights to hang on the front bumper for those bigger pulls or steep hills, would help alot to keep all 4 corners planted, anyways just my humble suggestion 🤷

MAN! I love the low range on that beast of a truck! Inching along with 2k-3k of rpm is how you get the BIG jobs done.
Kudos!
Awesome video. That Hell boy is cool as all get out.
Hey Rick !! Nice recovery !!! Did you stop to p/u the attachment off the rear bumper as couldn't see it when you loaded the bus on the trailer !! 👍👍👍👍👍
Yeah I sent a 4x4 pick up after it, I actually forgot to grab it when I pasted back by with hellboy
@@MURPHYSDIESEL Well!! At least you got it B/4 someone else did !!
Great job hauling that van man, great job keep up the great work. I wood love to fix my f350 like that you got smaller than your but it wood do some work. Smaller work but it wood work make it a 4x4 and turn in the back like yours and my truck is a 1990 f350 with a 460 motor maybe it would work ok. But nice job and truck you got there, thanks for showing and telling y’all have a great day see ya next time on video see ya bye.
Thanks, you too!
Dang Rick. HELLBOY is amazing 👍🏻👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻🇺🇸
Thank you sir !
"Could be worse" - ABSOLUTELY. The further they drove it in there, the worse it would be.
Sure glad she justified it all with what they did was "ok." I mean it wasn't wrong by any means. Why try to justify it at all? It is what happened. No need to feel insecure. Stand up be strong and handle it. We love you.
Possible video title?: Woman has great attitude for the situation. Good job helping her out
That’s a good one! Thank you sir!
The algorithm needs to get western on these videos!
Stay classy Pete the 🚌
What I don't know about that sliding axle could fill the Grand Canyon, but the use cases for that must be amazing. Just the coolest concept.
Great video Wrecker Rick!!! How nice to see hellboy doing the Lord's work🤣🤣. Kudos to Hayden for not taking the wrecker any further down that goat track.
Were those folks setting-up "Pete" as a moble meth lab??🤔🤔
Thank you! 😂 I don’t think so, just a gal looking for adventure. Not a tweeker.
I was thinking that they stopped in Flagstaff to a recreational Dispensary and got some Holy Weed for the weekend adventure.
😂 there is plenty of that up there
GREAT WORK MANY OFF ROAD HOME MADE WRECKERS DO NOT HAVE PULLING SLING. LOVING YOUR WORK, subscribed.
Thanks 👍
Text book! Couldn’t have asked for a better tool for this job.
Thanks man !
Best way is to learn from other peoples mistakes especially if your a parachutist 😀
"Don't get many tour busses through here. Where you heading?" "Back".
Amazing truck, very well executed rescue
Thanks 👍
From a 73 year old man that has worked with machinery all my life. I am VERY glad I am NOT your transmission. It has to be as hot as fire by the time you got the truck and buss back on the trailer.
You NEED lower gears.
I am thinking more along the lines of more torque to the Ground. maybe Torque converter change. That motor has what it needs. The gears should be Good enough.
Same thing I was thinking, looked kinda smoking hot at the steep part
I agree
@@CharlieWhitewolf Why do you think the 18 wheelers have from 13 to 18 gears? If a tractor and trailer are loaded HEAVY they need to start out VERY VERY slowly. If this truck had lower gears it would not be LUGGING as much while trying to pull a heavy load.
@@davescorneroftheworld1147 I understand what your saying and I do agree. Just seemed like that rev up wasn't getting down to the ground.
Yeah, first time seeing your channel. And that road that freaked you out looked better than roads that I've seen mail delivered on.
Freaked me out?
I'm guessing Jesus didn't take the wheel ☹️
😅
He couldn't hold the wheel because of the plank of wood he was nailed to.
Looks like a hell of a nice recovery rig you've built!
You need to get yourself some tractor weights to hang on the front bumper for those bigger pulls or steep hills, would help alot to keep all 4 corners planted, anyways just my humble suggestion 🤷
REAR STEER RICK IS BACK BABY!
😂
Thanks folks another great video. You have very versatile equipment we don’t see this everyday
She say could be worse and I’m thinking, yeah I guess but I honestly can’t imagine how 😂
😂
could have been worse -- the bus could have been on its side, in the snow, outside of cell reception.
Yeah, she lucked out having cell reception that far out.
I think she meant at least it was still upright! LOL 😂
