OMG!!! Never thought I'd hear a proper Oasis song I haven't heard... I mean I've heard the Chemical Brothers one and Noel on the acoustic... But this is a proper Oasis tune! Nice one!
They wouldn't be appreciated in the same way like the Beatles, the Stone Roses, the Sex Pistols etc. These bands left the world demanding more and eventually their fans realised they should just appreciate what they got while it lasted.
Love this. Has early Smashing Pumpkins vibes to it as well. Could have been on the DM album instead of Shakermaker. Fits right in with the shoegaze psychedelic grunge along with Columbia, Supersonic, and Bring it in Down.
It's the same song. Noel openly admits he took the new lock all the doors from the one in 1993. Or whoever it was. The verse is the same. Also look out here for allot of lyrics in later songs that made albums. Listen to my sister lover aswell
Well. The Beatles were not the initial inspiration of this band. That came later with What's the story Morning Glory. It's clear. They were slightly inspired by Stone Roses, but this magic sound belongs to them und unfortunately lasted until the Definitely Maybe era, including wonderful b-sides like "It's good to be free" and "Headshrinker". Apart from the tune "Morning Glory" nothing was the same after that. It's a pity, because this sound is amazing.
Well ,Sex pistols ,many people thinks in the beatles influence but on many songs like this and many more the influence of sex pistols is clear also stone roses but oasis created that biblical sound that didt't appear between sex pistols and the beatles.
Even Noel has regularly admitted that if he'd truly had the bollocks, he'd have chucked it in after "Definitely Maybe". Now, even when the albums overall were mediocre, right up through the last album Oasis always gave me at least a few genuinely great tunes, so that seems extreme...but I know just what he was getting at
Also, that was one thing that was cool about the DM reissue...you kinda figure you have all the early b-sides with "Masterplan", but then there were tons of oddball, fuzzy/trippy little gems from the very early era they stuck on there, that I for one hadn't heard before. Then of course, there's the internet for the stuff they don't give us ; ) I do sometimes wonder if there's anything NOT out there. Like the way it took Radiohead getting outright hacked for us to get some of the best material from the "Ok Computer" sessions, they were just straight up never going to release it. Doesn't seem Noel's style, but I wonder.
I think Liam and Noel's singing voices were quite similar on the early days. Their voices started to split way from Definitely Maybe, and the studio version of Don't Look Back In Anger (on WTSMG) was the last instance that I find Noel's voice has some similarity to Liam's.

Incredible 👍
You'll see
I have one, my voice is so similar
I know the band themselves are not big fans of alot of there early stuff but this is class.
This sounds like a totally different band. Almost like a garage grunge band, and it sounds awesome.
Absurdi TV agreed 👍
Ye wish they made more rockin tunes like this

Noel used it for his song with the chemical brothers

but noel's version has shit vocals. the guitar is good though

Just look for The Chemical Brothers - Setting Sun, it's basically the reincarnation of this one@@mr.sifter4207
This is sad. The 90s were too quick! They should have lasted forever!
yes true
Not at all. Imagine the Crowd taking selfies, Instagram, fb live, god knows what. Best that Oasis lived it up with people who were mad fer it :)

Chemical Brothers... what a joke. How can you coMpare them? CB not even in the same league let alone breathe
No comparison
You wanna here the live acoustic Noel version!!!!!!
Masterpiece!! Guitar solo is genius
guessing this is the basis for the riff to ngs version of lock all the doors. Pretty sure this is more like it than the actual lock all the doors demo
100%
I wish they would play this song Live that would be Awsomeness!!! 😁🤘🎸🥁
First released as demo, then as acoustic version, and finally as a Chemical Brothers original version by Noel Gallagher after all.

Does anyone know how to play the lead guitar part in this song, cause I can't find it anywhere?
RoyalChaff look up lock all the doors tab its pretty close and morning glory outro solo tab
All of noels guitar work is very easy to just play by ear, it’s all just easy pentatonic phrasing
E 10-13-15
B 10-13-15
G 10-12-14
D 10-12
A 8-10-12
E 8-10-13
Pentatonic D major stuff - its so recognisable. Once you learn it you can literally play the solo without a guitar in your hand if you remember the melody. Good luck if your still playing!
Sounds like I will believe
Reminds me of the Stooges Fun House ..
Amen.
