Hello again from London Allanda ! This video is fascinating to me- thanks for sharing. The idea of you craving jack fruit so strongly just makes me smile! There is an emerging theory in nutritional science about the core source of cravings- and that some cravings come from a nutritional deficiency in our bodies- and our brain translates that deficiency into cravings......Jackfruit in particular is LOADED with potassium, and also helps in regulating blood sugars. If it was me, I would double check my potassium levels and daily intake. Its common for peptide users to be low on potassium, and it is a challenge to get enough in our restricted calorie daily diets. One cup of jackfruit is 730mg of potassium, while a banana is only about 350mg. our bodies need anywhere from 3500 to 4700 mg a day. According to the CDC and USDA, 90% of Americans are potassium deficient. Its worth checking out because those strong strong cravings might be telling you something. Holler if you have any questions! All the best to you and your family!
Hi Allanda. Something I’ve been aware of for myself is that if I am bored, anxious or lonely, my food cravings creep back into my thoughts. I am working on distracting myself when the food cravings start instead of giving in. I don’t want to be on these meds for life, so I know for myself I’ve got to work on the mental side of my cravings. I know I can control myself because I did it before when I lost 100lbs with diet and exercise and no weight loss medication. @@nurselora681 Oh, yes! I have had pica. Specifically, during both my pregnancies. Those could have easily been an episode of My Strange Addictions 😂🤣😂🤣.
Same, not doing 650 - if we can’t switch to his insurance covering us and it, I will be going compound too. 550 for 9 months come January - $5k, that’s my limit. I estimate, at this pace, it’s going to take me another 8 months from now AT LEAST to hit my goal (50 more pounds) then maintenance. I do want to get off eventually but I will stay on for life if that’s what it takes.
@@tiafenn 👍🏾 Funny but not funny! A family member and I were talking about the cost of the medication. She could not believe that I was spending that amount each month. Which is true, I believe that I would say that! Yet, I am working and reworking my budget each month to purchase the medication. I am now creating a new habit! 🤗 However, it’s the new habit that is showing me that $650 is not doable. Compounding will be the only way to afford the medication after December. @@moniqueraper5028 Definitely speak with your prescriber, first. When discussing, think about some key questions. Average and healthy weekly weight loss is between (1-2 pounds per week). 1. Are you losing weight on your current dosage? If you have stalled, how long has the stall been. Most people consider a stall multiple weeks without ANY weight loss. 2. Are you having persistent food noise? 3. How did you handle the side effects of your last increase? In my situation, my last question is could I stay on this dosage and be successful with 4 new pens. Because I get four pens in a box and I am paying out of pocket ($550 per box). I look long term. I hope this is helpful. I will link a previous video where I discussed MY thought process. Why is it taking longer to loss weight? th-cam.com/video/S5JUc38Kux4/w-d-xo.html
Everybody knows how to lose weight. The trick is that everyone wants it easy, including me. When I stopped thinking or wanting it to be easy that is when I lost the weight for good. Until you retrain your brain to disconnect food with pleasure, stress relief our just a coping tool most people (because there are exceptions) will not keep weight off permanently. Time and the every spanning diet industry proves this point over and over again. They know it is a mental thing but they cant keep making money if people lose weight and never gain it again. HERE IT IS: The only way to permanent lose weight is to stop eating so much, stop consume large amounts of sugar and processed foods and eat at the right time. Your body needs a break form disgusting food all day. STOP treating your body like a garbage can. Yes it is hard and for a about 2 weeks you may be hunger but you are not starving. You have too much fat on you to starve.
Congratulations on your weight loss success! I am typically amazed at the dedication and discipline required to lose and maintain weight loss. You are doing it! Keep it up! Personally, I am extremely grateful for the weight loss tools like Zepbound, Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro, Trulicity and Sandexa because they are retraining my mind and body to eat loss and avoid the cravings. There are also a large amount of people whose hormones change and cause them to gain weight or prevents them from losing weight weight. Without the medication normal day-to-day life would derail any progress temporarily made. For me, I know that diet alone would not provide me with success as it hasn't in the past 23 years. I use to joke, “Put me on Survivor!” During that time, I felt that being starved on the show was my only option to lose weight. Now it’s not! 55+ pounds down and going. Using the medication as a tool is training me for my future and longevity. Wishing you continued success!
Me either. I wasn’t stressing out. I went to the website, there were some issues with misinformation being spread by individuals whose pharmacy messed up the memo/glitched but I was never concerned. I didn’t get a text directly though and I am signed up for all the things 😂
Do you normally get their messages/text? My messages started in March after I signed up for the new card. Most text come about once a month. They are typically text, "If you are experiencing limited availability of Zepbound, visit e.lilly/zepsupply for the latest info." Do you get those messages? Their website does offer a sign up for future information.
You may not be signed up to received messages. When getting the new savings card, there may have been an option to receive updates. I am guessing. I am the weirdo that normally selects yes to receive random updates.
I am signed up for text messages. I starting receiving text messages back in March. I believe what happened is Amazon Pharmacy automatically registered me for the new savings card, so I had to call them and have them change my information back to my original savings card. I’m hoping now I will receive the text.
Tia is correct! The ones that I have do not have CBD in them. Karma does offer some that do! These came from Aldi, so no CBD infused. The ones that I got are probiotic waters. I like to drink it with my meal. Plain water can be mundane.
@@walkbyfaith2874 Good morning! Thanks for looking out! 😊 I am anemic (Alpha Thalassemia). @@Allanda180I understand. I have sickle cell alpha thalassemia trait and iron deficiency anemia for years. I use to eat the ice that built up in the old refrigerators when I was in my teens and young adulthood. I also had other weird cravings. It was due to my anemia. Thank God those days are gone.
Allanda, Give up the sugar! Sugar makes you crave. Increasing the drug makes no sense. Keto quiets the noise. I have been keto for 4 years. I have been flat, plateau for 2 years. I recently implemented caloric restriction, and with recommendations by my NP for low dose semaglutide and increased weight training. Crazy, I was near my goal by 4 pounds. This did it. Leave those processed foods on the shelf.
Good morning! Congratulation on your weight loss journey. It is so exciting to reach one's goals! I am curious, will you stay on keto moving forward? Thank you for sharing your concerns and thoughts. Enjoy the holiday weekend!
@@Allanda180 working with my NP there was no need for 3500-4000 calories/day. I am good for now. The 0.24mg of semaglutide has been good for nearly 6 weeks with a calorie intake of 1500-2000 per day. I will continue Keto. High carbs just kept me hungry all the time and I had a tremendous bulging gut. Increasing drug dosages sound pretty much identical to the opioid crisis. I am a nurse, I saw the opioid damage. Without behavioral changes, these medications will leave you worse off, mentally messed up and financially bankrupt.Someone needs to sound the alarms, folks are winding up messed up gastric systems and feeding tubes.

@@shirleyarnold1953 Ah!!! Thank you! 😊 I love that you enjoy them. Who knew that sharing could be such fun. I personally look forward to Friday’s and sharing the week. This journey is helping me in so many ways. Ways that I wish I could have explored earlier in life. However, better late than never. Plus, life happens on its own terms! 😉 Be blessed and thank you, again! 🫶🏾
I know what you mean, I try to tell myself ( Just because you think it doesn't mean you have to eat it ) 😁
I began the compound august 5th. Starter dose. 21 days and 18 # down. Staying at 12.5 units which is lasting so far six weeks. Still have enough for week seven. $105.00 a vial.
Time will tell.
@@MCP920 Welcome to the journey and may your success continue!
@@Allanda180 thank you.
I take B12 liquid drops it's made a big difference. When I was on the. Compound I had B12 prefilled injections also . You got this sweetie its definitely a health challenge journey for all of us . . 🥰
Allanda, could you possibly have PICA with some of your odd cravings due to anemia or vitamin/mineral deficiency? This happened to me when I was severely anemic.
She brought up a conversation that we had years ago about trying to saving money. She recalled me saying that saving my money has never been a habit that I developed. Which is true, I believe that I would say that! Yet, I am working and reworking my budget each month to purchase the medication. I am now creating a new habit! 🤗 However, it’s the new habit that is showing me that $650 is not doable. Compounding will be the only way to afford the medication after December. The insurance is still sing a Destiny’s Child’s song to me, “No no no!”
@@Allanda180 😂 No, no, no, no, no! 🤣
Karma is in my town who makes them. I can never find my favorite which is the elderberry starfruit in the stores anymore.
@@mamicara I will keep my eyes open, so I can try it! Thanks for the suggestion! 🫶🏾
You always get the same stuff I love. LOL - Karma water I will pick up occasionally - they have it at Target (where I work once a week) and a few weeks ago, I was in King Sooper (basically Kroger - we don’t have Aldi here) and I had a CRAVING, saw it on the shelf and grabbed it. LOL - I don’t get it a lot but definitely yummy!
@@tiafenner 🥰 Oh yeah! Great minds think alike! 😅 I hope that you are enjoying the long weekend!
I’ve been dealing with this but still losing eating crap. So I will eat what I crave. When I was on 10mg I still wanted stuff. The 12.5mg is much better so far with me not wanting so much.
Really! Thank you for the heads up! I will definitely keep you updated!
Did you find the fatigue more severe with 7.5 as opposed to 5mg? I’m on week 2 and that second day I aam aaa zombie!
@@sarawolf9840 YES! 2.5 and 5 gave me energy. Man! 7.5 would wipe me out! I am just grateful that it only lasted a day. The day after my shot, I would sleep nearly 12-14 hours. This is not including the Friday 10:00pm be time. I would wake up in Saturday, eat and sleep the day away. I completely understand being a zombie! 🧟♀️
How do you know if you need to go up a dose I'm currently on 5.2 I'm thinking I need to go up to 7.5 in October
I never received the text. I wonder if everyone got the text.
Me either. I wasn’t stressing out. I went to the website, there were some issues with misinformation being spread by individuals whose pharmacy messed up the memo/glitched but I was never concerned. I didn’t get a text directly though and I am signed up for all the things 😂
I take it back, I did get the text yesterday at 12:33pm MT. It might be in your spam folder
Does Karma have CBD in it?
Not the ones she was showing but they do make CBD water. I went to the website when I first discovered it.
Tia is correct! The ones that I have do not have CBD in them. Karma does offer some that do! These came from Aldi, so no CBD infused. The ones that I got are probiotic waters. I like to drink it with my meal. Plain water can be mundane.
You may have a vitamin or mineral deficiency.
@@walkbyfaith2874 Good morning! Thanks for looking out! 😊 I am anemic (Alpha Thalassemia). Based on my history and the longevity of this behavior, we don’t think it’s a vitamin or mineral deficiency; however, I plan to rerun a complete blood count this week. It can be so many things 🤦🏾♀️ I again, thank you and hope that you are having a blessed weekend! 🙏🏾
@@walkbyfaith2874 Completely understandable! 👍🏾
Allanda,
Give up the sugar!
