I've only just discovered this channel and have been watching the process of this little beasty. I'm from Australia and own a 1995 BMW730iL 3.0L V8 auto and man it's a ripper of a machine. I love it and it has so much power for an old stock car. The owner before me painted it in a beautiful copper fleck black and looks beautiful when the sun catches the copper flecks in the black. When I first bought it I gave it a cut and polish by hand at home and it came up a treat but seeing yours in these videos getting polished and seeing the result and that colour come out was amazing. I thought I did a good job with my polish but after seeing the result of this one I realised it might come up even better if given the full professional treatment. Sadly, mine needs a new water pump and I think an oil gasket is going on the front end somewhere as it has a major oil leak at the front of the engine so my beast has been garaged for many months waiting to be fixed. It still starts beautifully and runs like a dream but I don't want to drive it regularly until I get it fixed properly and seeing you guys go through the process of your engine rebuild has motivated me to get it back on the road again quickly. I did a complete engine strip down once, many years ago now, on a 78 Ford F100 which had a stock 302 Cleveland in it and I modified it to make it a 351 and I learnt so much during the rebuild. I had to do the same thing and learn everything from scratch, searching the internet, watching videos and looking through manuals, as I hadn't worked on one of those before but it was so much fun to do. Watching you guys and feeling that excitement and nervousness of that first start up brings back memories of that rebuild I did on the Cleveland. Unfortunately, I don't have the motivation or the setup to do another one but I envy you guys with the setup of your workshop. It makes it so much easier having all the right tools and equipment to be able to work on these machines. Who knows, if I end up getting a workshop setup one day I might even rebuild my BMW engine too. Well done on achieving the goal you set out to do and having a positive result. It's easy for us to sit back and see it all progress and unfold on a video but there is so much work and many hours that go into all of this. Great job, fellas. 😁👍🏻

Sick effort guys! Pro tip, take a relay from a known working accessory you don’t need, like the ac or high beams and swap over to the suspected problem relay to eliminate it as a problem. Avoids you having to run to the parts store and you’ve got a few.
And using a multi meter if you can find good signal wires to that relay before the bad section, you can just splice overlay new wires overtop the harness. Don’t rule out the wires to the fuel pump itself after the relay, check its ground being intermittent, a good place to start. Big ups man.
