What you said first about some doctors only being in it for the money is 100% a description of the RE I saw back in 2013. His attitude and manner made a heart breaking season in my life so much worse. I’ve never met such a heartless, abrupt physician in my life. I wish I would’ve seen a compassionate, thoughtful RE like you. 💕 But thankfully his “you have less than a 1% chance of ever having a baby” diagnosis wasn’t the end of our story. We have three kiddos now and #4 is on the way. All spontaneous pregnancies too. #miracleshappen #hangontohope
This is a massive problem in the field I practice, child psychiatry. I spend almost half my time managing misdiagnoses and inappropriate medication regimens from non physician providers or telehealth companies not staffed by psychiatrists. It is so frustrating when profits are prioritized over patients. Training and expertise is so important, thanks for sharing this!
Agreed! I'm a psychiatry resident and I see it a lot as well, even in my few years of training. It's most rampant with uninsured patients, who have a hard time getting physician-led care!
When you said infertility is not fair I teared up. I felt that so hard! Thank you for clarifying where the line is drawn for obgyn’s starting fertility care and where rei’s should take over. I am just about to have my obyn look into my struggle with conceiving and this video was very helpful.
This information was beyond helpful. The Dr we had associated experience with REI but wasnt certified. I'm now looking an actual board certified REI doctor for our next steps. Thank you!!!
This is my third time watching because this is so helpful. After my second cycle, I need someone that isn’t after the dollar sign but has integrity and care. Thank you for the additional knowledge.
I did love your rant! Lol I’m glad my local OB’s don’t step out side their boundaries. Even living in a very rual area with only 1 board certified RE with in two hours my OB will stick to their wheelhouse. I’m very excited for my first appointment with my RE next week 🤞🏻
This was super informative! I work in the field of architecture and it’s illegal to call yourself an “Architect” if you have not completed the accredited education requirements and passed the boards and they are BRUTAL! And a lot of industry folks find that ridiculous but it’s always the ones that aren’t qualified. So I can empathize with your frustration! Super frustrating that you really have to read the fine print to know who you’re getting.
I am very happy that my obgyn suffered infertility herself and sent me over to the fertility clinic as soon as protocol allowed. She also ordered blood tests right away to get that going in the meantime. Sure enough we found issues the very first blood draw.
I froze 42 eggs at the age of 37, but i am still afraid that my dream for a baby will never come true....😞My obgyn believes egg freezing gives false hope...The fertility doctor disagrees with him.
Thank you so much Dr. Crawford. I wish you were in the PA area. Any recommendations? I feel like I’m driving my own care in this particular situation. Can’t find obgyn who cares like you are describing.
I’m in PA. I liked RMA Philadelphia, specifically Dr Gutmann. She was so compassionate and took time with me. We ended up conceiving naturally so I can’t speak to treatment with them personally but my friend had twins with Gutmann. I’d personally avoid Dr Glassner at Main Line Fertility. In my opinion, he’s just in it for the money and results. He doesn’t care about overstimulating ovaries for IUI or transferring multiple embryos in IVF and then forcing parents to do selective reduction (this happened to friends). I left his practice after he gave me a damming diagnosis with zero compassion. If you do go to MLF, see Orris or Brasile. Best wishes on your journey to growing a family. Hold on to hope. 💕
Do you know of any resources or sites where people can go to find a list of board certified REIs in their area? I see people here asking “who can I see in x state?” And I was going to comment the same for my state, lol. But I wonder if there’s a good place to go for a good referral list by location? Rather than just googling and sifting through hundreds of names…
I wonder if a doctor can get u more successful chance versus doctor who does what they want knowing it’s going fail . Or if we have unlimited money versus a woman who’s saved for 5 years

Wow, that’s beyond poor bed side manner. So many doctors say you can’t have babies as if they have the last say.

Totally agree,, very important for pt to notice. Thank you dearest doctor.
❤ Love watching your informative videos!

At my clinic, they use NP’s to review protocols that the doctor ordered & to witness you sign ivf paperwork but that’s about it.
Thank you for calling out NPs! Terrifying, terrifying stuff
I really appreciate your perspective and expertise! Thank you!
of course! thank you for the kind words!

@@carolines3953 thank you Carole. I appreciate your help
Any recommendations for REI in Dallas please?

What do RE's learn about immunology?

Great info! Thank you! I went international for fertility treatments because of the lack of care in California.
