Thank you for explaining so well. I just had surgery to try and unblock my fallopian tubes but while I was under they found them to be too enlarged and diseased. It hit me pretty hard to be under 30 and have my tubes out but now my next step is IVF and I really appreciate the information.

Thank you so much for sharing your professional expertise with this community. My clinic gave us very minimal info related to IVF and I felt like it was a 1 size fits all approach. We backed out of starting IVF earlier in the year for that reason as well as my husband and I are still wrapping our heads and hearts around it all. Not only from the financial burden perspective but the physical and emotional part that there is not a guarantee at the end of the process for a healthy live birth. I had a miscarriage a year ago and I’m now going through an ectopic with methotrexate treatment. A little off topic here but: Do you happen to have any advice for preparing your body in general during the downtime post methotrexate treatment for trying again unassisted or any data reflecting safety/toxicity with early conception shorter than a 3 month wait? Any info would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks again for all you’re doing to educate this community.
Probably best to wait at least 3 - 6 months is what A OB typically recommends. Check with ya OBGYN; try setting UP an Appt with A Chinese medicine physician or Acupuncturist. Acupuncture has been proven to help balance female reproductive hormones, to prep your body for Pregnancy. You might be given Chinese herbal supplements; & do Acupuncture for several months (at least 2 months); eat healthy (Mediterranean lifestyle); You can consult with a registered dietician to help with what foods to eat. Seek professional counseling/therapy; that’s essential to help you mentally prepare yourself for Another Pregnancy. I know everybody thinks it's inclusive to call pregnant women pregnant people. But I really long for the day's when we acknowledge the pregnancy with something women experienced. I really can't stand this new language. While you're excluding a small number of people, you're also excluding women like me.
Another big question is does the clinic allow embryo donations (if that is something you may want to do with your leftover embryo’s). My cousin unfortunately assumed all clinics allow and participate in embryo donation only to find out when she was done making her family, that they don’t. Now she has 2 embryo’s she had planned on donating that she’s paying for indefinitely. 😔 I am about to begin and that will definitely be something I now know to ask about.
Could you make a video about PGD testing with IVF? I had bilateral retinoblastoma and it is a 50/50 shot for my kids it get it. I just got married and this is the route me and my husband want to take.
I am curious how ongoing ovulation induction can't cure PCOS and why physicians don't put people with PCOS on these medications on an ongoing basis. Wouldn't ongoing ovulation induction get rid of those immature follicles collecting in the ovaries and thus not cause the trickle-down effects of androgen elevations that underly several health and cosmetic complications of the diagnosis?
I know your question is old but I know someone close to me who has PCOS who has been trying to conceive for a decade. At least in her case, the medications they put her on are difficult to endure for long periods. They cause mood swings, bloating, weight gain, etc. It has not been a pleasant experience for her and it also hasn't worked. Now she's on the meds to go through the IUI cycles. Those have been worse for her and IUI has failed so far. Next step for her might be IVF (which is what drew me to this video). In a nutshell, I think they don't do it long term because the side effects can be annoying and sometimes it still doesn't help.

I think a couple things about this though; if someone develops infertility, hirsutism, menstrual irregularities, hormonal imbalance affecting mood, obstructive sleep apnea, cancer from the accumulation of lining not being shed monthly, obesity, insulin-resistance and type II diabetes--all of which are known complications of PCOS, I'd like to have the option to decide between side effects vs. all or even a few of those complications, I'd like to know. I really appreciate your idea there nonetheless; it's more helpful to have guesses commented than nothing at all :)
Do you know if it is common for my menstrual to be late after taking 50 mg of clomid? My cycle is usually 24-26 days every month. Last month was my first cycle of taking the clomid and my menstrual still hasn't came today is cycle day 55! I called my dr so waiting on a call back but I'm extremely confused and scared about why it hasn't come yet? Thank you so much for all of your informative videos!! I’m sorry but why are you prescribed clomid when you are clearly ovulating and getting your period regularly? I’m very confused I thought clomid was for people who don’t ovulate and get periods…

I am 39 years old, and I going through my 3 IVF. A month ago was egg collection. Was collected 16 eggs of which 14 were injected with sperm and finally only 5 embryos (in 3 day frozen). Because I need to go for an operation (laparotomy) my embryos are frozen. Because there is a small embryo number, we are thinking to go for a 2 egg collection (also the doctor's suggestion). Because of age and abnormal eggs. My question is, how big are the chances at my age that one of these embryos is chromosomal normal?
and yes I understand that the real result we can find out only with PGT -a. I am asking for opinions, and experiences according to my age. We live a very healthy lifestyle.

depends on age and circumstance - it is the only thing that improves efficiency of conception - so even with low reserve, it does often make sense as long as counseled correctly and you understands your personal odds of success
Most Docs only DO IVF if you have A problem; because those with infertility problems get Prioritized in most clinics over those with no problems. Highly doubt you’ll find A clinic that will take You. It’s a grueling process & it’s meant for men & women with Diagnosed Infertility; medically diagnosed fertility problems; not healthy individuals who are capable of Procreating naturally.
It’s an analogy - there’s no actual vault there are just dormant eggs. It’s an easier way to grasp the idea of why we only have so many per month and that number decreases as we age
Just adding clarification of how the body selects the eggs to 'activate' to come out of dormancy in addition to what you just said is so much less confusing. I was so confused by the vault analogy in all of your videos and I imagine I'm not alone in this, so I thought I'd share the feedback of a misunderstanding many people will feel too insecure to share is confusing to them. You should look up Ken Berry's videos on PCOS. If you balance your hormones through diet PCOS can be reversed in most people.
