Revolutionizing Indian Education System | Ground Report by Dhruv Rathee

- Creativity, Confidence, Critical Thinking are not something that you would expect to learn in an Indian government school. But this is changing! In this ground report, I visit two government schools in Delhi to see the implementation of a revolutionary scheme - The Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum that is being implemented in all government schools of Delhi for classes 9,10,11,12. It was introduced by Kejriwal govt in beginning of year 2019. This curriculum, revolutionises the Indian Educational System by focusing on teaching life skills, abilities and qualities that a student needs in his career and normal life. There are no books to learn from, everything is taught by practical lessons. I go inside the classroom to find out what they are actually teaching here! I also interview five different people responsible for the designing and implementation of this curriculum to understand if it can be successful in change our Indian education system’s rote learning and excessive studying for good.

This is fantastic to see, Dhruv. We don't even have such a curriculum in New Zealand. They just teach us to get a job. It took me over a decade to reprogramme myself away from that mindset and rebuild my creativity and confidence... And move to the country of my dreams. Thanks Dhruv.

I am a professional primary teacher ...and I quit my job bcz my Headmistress was so dominating that she never allow me to teach in my own style... She wants me to just complete the syllabus and that's it. ...no activities ..no demonstration ..nothing ..... But now i m teaching students on my own ..at my home. (And there is so much to say about it)

No bro... creativity is intrinsic it can't be created in humans so all can't be creative in doing things so in schools it doesn't work properly if conducted among all students equally then some may feel low...just it needs to be explored...and thus "literacy is compulsory but not creativity"
@@vikash314 Bro, I'm just talking about the importance of them, Not about the compulsion of them and if you do not give children the opportunity to showcase their creativity then their creativity will be buried within them forever. And this creativity comes out from them when you include such kind of activities and subjects in their curriculum through which the children will come to know, discover and nurture the innate abilities present in them.

This initiative of Entrepreneur Mindset Curriculum by Delhi Government and Delhi Schools is really very fantastic.
It results in creating entrepreneurial mindset and hopefully more entrepreneurs in our country to ride the economy higher and higher levels.
I really feel jealous that I didn't get to learn all these things in school in maharashtra.
Hat's off to Delhi Government for such value addition to our country.

Delhi has fortunately one school namely- Muni Internationl school, t Mohan Garden Uttam Nagar which has experimented with school education system and has achieved remarkable results. Students of this school speak fluent English although there is no period, course book or teacher of English language in any of 1 to 10th class. All the students are from very humble background like surrounding unauthorized colonies . The school founder Mr. Ashok Thakur has inculcated nearly 41 new innovations in teaching methods which has made all the learning experience a fun for students. Its a budged school, brings laurels almost every year from world renowned agency- Education World , premier agency , which surveys all the schools of India on different parameters. Here student clears his 10th class syllabus in 6th standard only effortlessly. Japan govt has collaborated with this school and whosoever dignitaries visit Delhi , Muni School is a never miss to visit all the time. Although not so many people aware of this unique school yet UNESCO studies its model . Isn't this surprising. its the best model for developing countries like India to give its children the education of advanced country like Finland standard.

Oh yeah. For facing failures.... The schools say that if you fail, you will become poor. Infact they tell us that you will be economically backward and you do not deserve to live. They think that the students who are facing failures are demons and evil for the society. That is the INDIAN SCHOOL MINDSET.
Bad education system in India...Rata maar wala system...it's need to be change
School taught us how to express and how to complain... you mentioned it well. School make you able to do what you want, only difference is how one understand it..... I understand things should Chang with time.. but is it possible to implement changes in one night... If I take an example of implementing English medium of instruction in all the schools, is it possible to implement in one night or one year..... It will not be possible.. School makes our foundation strong to face challenges....if one expect school to do everything for students, then how can one think that students will do anything new or different in future with confidence.

And if students were Independent enough to manage everything, then why should we attend schools? It would be better to self study and take classes and courses online. I know that things cannot change in one night but it could have changed in 70 years. It has been around 70 years of Independence and very little change has come in the methodology of teaching. What are the schools teaching? To retreat immediately when you fail?? Is that what you learn?? The teachers in schools do that. They say if you get less marks, then what will you do? And same goes with our parents. Here, the schools should test the students by their practical knowledge. The students do not have enough time to practically learn anything. So we need a fast change. (Just look at Japan, it started to recover from the WW2 when our country got independence. But now look at the difference. And you should guess the reason)
