Hi Ramanan. I am using an oil based clay. Some call it plastilina, plasticine or modeling clay. I can't recall this specific brand because I bought a lot of it eons ago. However, CHAVANT manufactures a high quality clay and they're very reputable. Check out the description below for a link to their Medium grade 2lbs block. It's also sulfur free which is imperative if you're molding with silicone. I should mention, you'll be redirected to Amazon.com through this link. I'm an affiliate marketer with them. Chavant NSP Medium - Sulfur FREE, 2lb Professional Clay (Green) amzn.to/2HqEQKQ I'm glad my videos are useful to you. They're packed full of my experience as a sculptor. Best of luck.
@@JonBurnsFineArt Thanks alot! I've been sculpting with polymer clay for the past 2 years. I guess polymer clay wouldn't react with silicone. But to make bigger sculptures I was finding it hard to choose between water based clay and oil based clay.
@@RamanansArtchannel If you are going to use oil based clay and it's not a truncated form, build a solid armature that can easily release the supporting pipe. Water based clay is good for molding if you build solid and quickly. Don't let it dry out. If you have any questions along the way, just holler.
Great stuff, thanks for the video. Super insightful.
Very informative. thank you very much.
