    Great video. Very informative. Getting back into sculpture after many years of life getting in the way. Your video was great to refresh my memory and also learned a lot more!

    Hello Jon, just found you and so pleased that I have. I am a restorer of pottery, ceramic, procelain, and just about anything that brakes. 30 years of professional service now. I am always interested in learning and am finding your programmes are just that. Your explainations, showing new products, and your own wonderful approaches to your craft are very professional indeed. I am now a real fan and appreciate very much the extra you give to each show to explain and also give out all the supplies needed to do the work. Looking forward to looking back on your previous shows and then seeing and listening to your next show. Thanks Jon, Jan.

    Is there a reason you don't vacuum de-gas the slurry? Does it cause a problem?

    Wonderful video!! I looked through and could not find what type of glue you used to attach her arms?

    • @JonBurnsFineArt

      No glue is going to set immediately which is a setting problem. The arms may move out of alignment before it sets. With that said, pc7 or gorilla epoxy are good candidates. If you want to get very serious drill 5-6 holes with a paneling-nail-sized bit on both mating surfaces. Next take a wad of epoxy "putty", smear generous amounts in all holes and sandwich the wad between the two surfaces for a rock-solid connection when set/cured. Best of luck 🤞

    Did I miss how you reattChed her arms? I saw you glue them..but I didn't see how you managed to keep her arms in place til they were dry...

    Hydrostone is acrilic resin + plaster?

    • @JonBurnsFineArt
      @JonBurnsFineArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. Hydrostone is a type of gypsum cement, a very hard type of plaster. If you're mixing resin, use marble powder for a much more beautiful casting.
