This is BRILLIANT! I remember long ago, ten plus years, I told my sisters oboe professor, wouldn't it be neat to hear an oboe play jazz, and he paused for a minute, I don't think he was so sure of my idea, but look at this video! I love it, and now I want to compose a piece or two of an oboe/English horn jazz!

Can anyone tell me what the second smaller variation of oboe used by Fillon is called?
to me it looks to just be a regular sized oboe (in C), although made of clear plastic. The larger one is called an English horn (in F). The first piece also has the in-between size called oboe d'amore (in A).

Guys you do know he was mostly playing the English horn......
About half the time he was playing the English Horn. It is also considered as an oboe given it's part of the oboe family. The other half he was playing a crystal oboe, which gives a nice jazzy sound. Perfect for this kind of music.
Oh I didn't know there was a crystal oboe, THAT'S REALLY COOL SINCE I'M A MUSIC GEEK!... Well the more you know! :)
