    Functional movement screen guru Gray Cook says "breathing connects all parts of the movement matrix, but it remains the most neglected aspect of the western approach to exercise, athletic conditioning and rehabilitation"
    In a chapter titled 'Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization' they say "functionally, posture and respiration are interdependent, forming one functional unit. Dysfunction in one compromises the other and vise versa. The training of the idea posture must be concurrent with the training of the idea breathing pattern"
    In Rehabilitation of the Spine by Craig Liebenson it is said "Nowhere in the body is the axiom of structure governing function more apparent than in its relation to respiration"

    Thank you for such a wonderful tips. There
    Are not many doctors and chiropractors who are as knowledgeable and caring as you. Thank you. Most just rush into adjustments and get the patient out rather than explaining and treating the root cause .. thank you 🙏 once again

    Nice video from a fellow Logan grad. People forget that the diaphragm attaches to the lumbar spine and is usually involved in most LBP cases.

Much appreciated. BTW I am In NYC. Are you near by for training or do you know of anyone in The Manhattan area that could assist with your technique? Many Thx Tommy F.

    Awesome. Crazy as I’m in martial arts / boxing my whole life but never braced/ breathed / acknowledged - the lower abs and expansion of lungs. Do you always breathe in thru your nose and out thru your mouth?? And Is belly pulled in at all times and you never let your belly fall?

    • @imporylem
      @imporylem 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      never pull your belly in. if you succesfully activate your inner core muscles. it just gets toned and tightened just enough. your bracing should come on top of that.

    This really works the back muscles!!?

    • @DrJeffreyOGuinSaintLouis
      @DrJeffreyOGuinSaintLouis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      not necessarily "works them". However, because the diaphragm is a CORE muscle, working it can be beneficial for the CORE as a whole.

    Is it possible that my leg muscles ache because of incorect breath? I went to most doctors and they say I have no problem. Yet after short periods of walking or standing my calves heels and glutes hurt and quads etc

      The in breath is more important for engaging the diaphragm. You can breathe out through nose or mouth.
