How To Breathe Properly | Posture Therapist Explains Why Belly breathing Is NOT The Best Technique

  • Most people don't know how to breathe properly.
    Often, they read that belly breathing belly is the best way to relax.
    As a posture therapist, I will use a biomechanical analysis to show you that this isn't correct when you stand or sit, and why.
    Actually, there are 3 ways to breathe: neck breathing, belly breathing, thoracic breathing.
    Clearly, neck breathing high will overuse the neck muscles (esp. scalene muscles). So the debate is on belly breath vs thoracic breath.
    This is especially important for people with asthma, COPD, pneumonia and other respiratory conditions.
