    Word of the Day: Alacrity - Excited and ecstatic enthusiasm or readiness.
    Health Cookie #4: Exercise is a crucial part of living a better life. If you were to perform any type of physical training, devotedly, and train really hard for just two years, then the benefits of those two years would span across the entirety of your next two decades. You could take two runs per week, or lift weights twice per week, or take a martial arts class twice per week, and after a couple years of that, you will have become an entirely different person for the rest of your life - a more competent, capable and dependable person. Exercise produces a surge of BDNF for your brain as well, which we covered previously in Health Cookie #2, with the intensity of the exercise determining the amount of BDNF granted to you. This means that there is refined scientific data to support the fact that exercise can help combat mental health ailments and gradually cure mental disorders like depression and anxiety, just like a cold shower can. We will cover HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) in Health Cookie #5.
    After years of training, it not only becomes very hard to lose the strength you've gained, but it also becomes significantly easier to maintain and grow it; In my personal case, I don't need to do a complex weight-training regimen to target different muscle groups, because I took three different martial arts simultaneously over a few years, and the variety of techniques I learned during that time have become a means for me to give my body an accurate tune-up whenever I need to, without any exercise equipment. I can perform upper blocks to target my bicepts, triceps and even the laterals in my back. I can shadowbox to rapidly accelerate my heart rate and tire my whole body out while engaging in HIIT. Push ups and sit-ups are ol' reliable, of course. But I prefer half sit ups, because they don't irritate my back on the hard floor. I can perform something ridiculous like 30 different karate stretches, to serve as a buffer against potential injury and improve flexibility/relieve joint irritation throughout my body. Regular housework and heavy lifting is never an issue for me, because I became so primed against injury as a result of my mere few years spent training as a teenager. The gains I made years ago in terms of focus and mental framework as well as dexterity and strength all still remain with me today, despite the fact that I took those three martial arts a decade and a half ago, and despite the fact that it was only for a few years.
    If you want to truly change your entire life, then even just ten minutes of intense training twice a week can accomplish that, even sprinting to the nearest Stop Sign and back is a tremendous boon to your health and longevity; But as with many things, the effort you sow determines the benefits you reap. If you train even harder, take cold showers even more, fast even longer, eliminate even more processed foods from your diet, etc, then you will accelerate the rate at which you become increasingly powerful. Our bodies are genuinely designed to adapt positively after every incurrence of a stressful occurrence. If you fight really hard this year to improve your health and make all the right choices, then just think of how that decision could positively influence and transform your next ten, twenty, or even thirty years of life. Speaking from personal experience, I can promise you this: It only takes six months of making just some of the right choices, to nearly undo all the damages you've incurred after six years of making all the wrong choices.

    This is a very effective Horde Base. I watched your livestreams...you did very well. This type of horde base excels with a perception build...spears can melee through the scaffolding ladders easily and give plenty of safety due to their attack range. Then with Deadeye and the Penetrator perk... you just own horde night. Electric fences are so important in later game stages and are key to stun locking them, which are very effectively used here.
    I usually prefer 2 types of Horde base designs in my late game (when not running around in the street :))... explosive pit at bedrock and corridor stun lock similar to yours. In my pit style base there is still the occasional rag-doll glitch when blowing up zombies so I keep a trap filled void between the kill pit and adjacent terrain. Since I use electric fence post in the pit design, I've found the "railing" block to be ideal for protecting my fence posts from physical damage from zombies, while still allowing complete access to the fence post for hook up, repair and even replacement or removal...all allowed through the railing block.
    Also finally wanted to mention that watching you complete those T6 infested poi's was crazy intense and good entertainment! :D

      Thank you :) To be honest, the Tier 6 POI's were the scariest part of the whole run LOL. Some of those moments got way too intense

    I’d love to see you do the wasteland only challenge everyone is doing

      @DisciplineBeforeDishonor  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nobody's gonna win that challenge lol, the Dire Wolves have an "Attack everything" mode that subverts base design now. If you had a horde every 7 days, then maybe, but certainly not horde every night

    Devs see this and they might nerf you somehow. they take vehicles from you on HN.
    They, at one point took vehicular damage away, (couldn't harm zed) and quite a few other manipulative tweaks which reveals where their heads are at.

    Build tutorial?

    • @DisciplineBeforeDishonor
      @DisciplineBeforeDishonor  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't think I'll make a build tutorial for this base, but in my Insane Nightmare Horde Every Night series I built it quite a few times, and those livestreams are available for viewing. It's really just a 2x2 hallway, 15 blocks above ground-level, with scaffolding ladders serving as the fighting position, and a double door on the other side of the scaffolding ladders for making zombies fall down and path back up.

      @@DisciplineBeforeDishonor thank you. Is there any benefit to having this built on top of a POI? I’m new to the 1.0 update. Haven’t played since original release on console.

    • @DisciplineBeforeDishonor
      @DisciplineBeforeDishonor  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@andyman697 That depends. If you build it on top of a POI, then it'll take less time and resources to build, so it'd be easier to construct it during a horde every night series, or during any series where Blood Moons happen more frequently than every 7 days. But in a vanilla playthrough with a horde every 7 days, you'd get a lot more experience gain for your character if you constructed the whole thing yourself, due to all the block upgrades :D
      Either way, just make sure that the electric fence posts, when you finally buy them from a trader or learn to craft them, aren't on the walls of the hallway itself, but are instead built two blocks out. Otherwise, Cop explosions will destroy them. You'll notice on my hallway that I have little "wings" attached to the hallway to protect the fence posts, you'll want something like that!

      @@DisciplineBeforeDishonor thank you so much for the info. I had saw someone say in the previous Alpha versions that building on POI’s upped the game stage and therefore you got better loot. I was planning on building on one of the skyscrapers anyways but I was curious. Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the replies.

    Where can I build some of these bases

    • @DisciplineBeforeDishonor
      @DisciplineBeforeDishonor  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I built one on top of Dick's Diner, another one on top of the 3 story Pass N Gas, you just have to make sure the zombies can fall over 12 blocks when you open the door beneath their feet. In order to make Dick's Diner work, I had to build a little ramp for the zombies to get out, because they weren't falling far enough. You can build this on any POI with a roof that's over 12 blocks high
