I appreciate all of this the base stood amazingly strong on my day 35 horde. My question though is there anyway way to incorporate the exact same base in a two player build and not sacrifice stability
Firstly, thanks for a great video for someone just beginning the journey into 7dtd! Now, the question. I've built an exact copy of your base, but i seem to be having some issues with zombie pathing. It's 11 blocks tall, with 10 spikes on the center column. I've only upgraded the entrance where i fight them to cement, and all of my lower part of the base is steel. Yet, somehow there seem to only be around a third of them climbing the stairs, while most keep hitting the steelpart on the groundlevel? Most of the ground level is cement as foundation whilst the pillars are all the first 2 levels with steel. Been trying to figure this out, but i can't seem to find a solution :/ You happen to know of one?
@@SicknessWin Sounds like they are going into rage mode. You want to zombies to fall 13 blocks or more otherwise they rage and will attack your base. Keep in mind the zombies pile on one another so if they fall on a heap, you can take a few blocks away as well.
@@tesseract2365 I figured it out, and oh my do i feel sincerely stupid after i did. I had simply forgotten to close the door for some reason, and had just never noticed. Okay first of all, Eko, the algorithm is god-tier for bringing me here because your videos, ESPECIALLY this one, are absolutely top freaking notch. Functional and aesthetically pleasing. Love the base, appreciate the detailed breakdown and will be giving it a go. The little additions of how and why as you went were great.
Thank you for this. I LOVE THE BRICK NAMES listed on the screen when you are using that brick. I am doing this base almost brick for brick. Had to widen the fighting window since I am in a game with 3 others. The base held up well until our first demo zombie (with 30 seconds left of horde night). Will continue upgrading! Really well done!
Just wrapped up my day 21 horde in the winter biome with this. Had 3 demolishers and unfortunately the 3rd one popped right at the choke point. Blew the iron door to smithereens but everything else held up, including the electric fences! I am a handful of books away from powered vault doors so that's my goal by Day 28. I love this design and the time you put into this video to help us build it has not gone unnoticed, huge kudos my man!
The only change I made was to put some bars above where I stand surrounded by ramps giving me a wide-eye view of the sky. I prefer to blast those little bastard vultures out of the sky myself for now :) I should also note that I did not have time to widen the stairs or add the grenade pit, and it still held up under a Day 21 horde night in the winter biome where 3 demos and LOADS of cops came to the party!
I love your build videos! They always give me new ideas. I love that you break down the shapes that you use so it's easy to know how to create the shapes and angles and designs. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to helping us all be better builders!!!!!!! 🎉❤
Some things to improve: 1) make it min 11 block high so they don't go into rage mode when falling (preferrably 13 to be safe when double stacking), 2) use pole then door, so they don't stack side by side at melee point, 3) use spiral stairs to save blocks and space rather than ladders or long stairs. Looks cool though! I'll try a variant some day when V1.0 is officially released.
It is 11 blocks high :) and more after you add the pit. Pole is a single point of failure - the combo cube + 2 narrow tips allows for redundancy. Spiral staircases would absolutely be a viable choice!
I always love your builds and the details you give so people can build it, including amount of mat needed. The work you put into your videos shows how much you enjoy the game.
very detailed guide with good tips! you adress every little detail one needs to know, very beginner friendly, visual representation is also awesome thx
I don't know if it was intentional, but I loved that the first two hits of the club in Horde Base day 7 went with the music drops. That aside, fantastic base. Love to see the evolution, I might be building this one on our server
We built this out of cobblestone for our day 35 hoard and at first it was working really well, they would drop into the pit where we had a bunch of spikes. But then the zombies started attacking the stair supports for some reason, we had only made single pillar stair supports because we didn't think they would bother with that. After the stair collapsed they started attacking the main base supports and we had to abandon the base or it would get destroyed. I'll try with heavier stair support this time. When it works it works really well.
I'm not exactly sure about the specifics, but I'm pretty sure the zombies are being triggered into rage mode when they fall. I think it's 13 blocks to avoid it completely, 11 blocks if they don't hit anything on their way down. But they love to clump up and fall on each other's heads, falling only 9 blocks of height since they landed on a zombie, I imagine spike traps would reduce their fall distance too. So I think it's a good idea to have a 13 block gap just to have some headroom for these situations, if you don't wanna build higher you can dig a pit 2 blocks deep all around the zombie path, make sure they have an easy way back to the path though
I don't think it's possible to improve on these build guides any more than you've done. Absolute masterclass on the subject. Thanks for all of the work you put into helping us stay alive in the apocalypse!
Yes, I typically "fight where I live", but this design could be adopted. Increase the platform level from 7x7 to 11x11, add a second level, one for living, one for fighting.
Your base builds have always been a big help when playing this games, even in overhauls like darkness falls and the age of oblivion. Can’t wait to build this one in the wasteland mod as I wasn’t sure I wanted to do the eko box again in there as I made a much larger version for 4 players to defend in df and found that it was a pain for just me and it was mostly to have a full base for myself.
I used the extra space in the middle of the interior to extend the fighting window to make a steel hatch fighting hallway, probably wont need it but i love my hatch hallways :) Love this build in my current world! Thank You so much for the top notch content!
I've built my base very similar to this. Yours just looks way more pleasing to the eye and I defitnitly took some notes and going to give my base a new facelift :D
That is a pretty cool and good looking base. Having the zombies have to run on switchbacks is a good way to keep them from entering rage mode. It doesn't immediately activate upon a fall. There is a timer. If you can make them run about for a bit, the timer runs out. I made a simple pill box on stilts base that forces the zombies to run at me with a narrow walkway. This causes many of them to fall down from a traffic jam and allows for a nice rifle build to abuse it. The penetrater perk with AP rounds makes it especially deadly. It also allows for one or two teammates to join in on the fun. Later on, with enough points in traps and wiring, I fill the floor with blade traps all around. The traps kill their rage mode as they take new damage and softens them up with extra damage before they can run back up the ramps to the narrow walkway to get to the pill box.
@@WaywardEko hey, I dont know if you will reply but I am building the base in my playthrough and I found out that dogs stack up between underneath the stairs and that little foundation to keep the stairs from collapsing. Is there a building mistake or something else I am missing? Thanks in advance!
@WaywardEko, love the video and the base. It is working well. I was able to keep pace through day 14 and even upgrade everything upgraded to cobblestone on day day 21. I am on day 27 and still do not have near enough forge books to have a mixer. Your videos are awsome! It would be helpful for noobs like me if you explained what skills you were investing in to keep pace with your time line. Keep up the great work.
Lots of tricks if you are struggling w/ workstation books. Put a single point into lockpicking. This will singularly boost your chances for workstation books up to level 15 in workstations. Also keep an eye out for cement mixers - they almost always have forge ahead mags ... to that end you can always follow the trader line through quests as each trader will have a few cement mixers/broken forges. Finally .. watch for the traders to sell the workstation mags.
only started getting into 7 days and must say this is amazing, im here cos of iSyzen and defo will be implementing this base design when i get into the game proper. amazing video
I would add blade traps surrounding the foundation pillars then and a single wiretrap on the pit nearest to base to reduce the digging zombies. Thanks for the vid and the community server, I have so much fun!

Love this base, I used the same with a few minor tweaks. I am going to add a rear part for dew collectors, some farming and a vehicle storing garage down below towards the rear and a Gyro spot on the roof :)
Eko, I love your videos. Loads of design work and effort have gone into them. You take your time and explain them so well. Have you thought about using bottom plates at ground level and top plates at face level for your structural supports? If gives the zoms less to hit and you can walk through the space, as well.
Amazing video. So well done. My only tiny gripe is the unrealistic idea in 1.0 that you can get all these materials by day 28. Steel now takes lvl 60 in workbenches. So unless I am missing something here, good luck getting these crafting stations and resources in time.
You can absolutely get the materials. The crucible is sold very often at the trader for 15k dukes. That said, once you combo up w/ some enforcer glasses, sugar butts, .44 book for 5% barter, awesome sauce ... you can get it down to around 9k dukes. That is the best route.
Just used this for my day 7 horde and plan on upgrading ut to the day 14 one. Worked great but had a couple close calls because zombies decided to crawl on each other and block the door. Also the broke the double pole and valister while i was dealing with a zombie that got in. So if your doing insane 64 count hopefully you get some cement mix or you get lucky with ammo drops pre horde. Otherwise keep that door open?closed? and shoot them with arrows as they fall down.
Opening the door can be tricky when they stack up but usually you can get an opening. You could technically leave the door open all horde and they will keep trying without going into rage mode. Yeah - I tested on Survivalist ... so on Insane you'll have more stack up dealing with the crazy HP numbers.
This base is awesome, I saw it used in video and had to try it. im new to the game so the building and placement of everything is confusing but fun. I luckily found 100 steel cubes in a airdrop so my supports are set lol. Though I'm setting this up on day 38 so it wont be ready for a while.
Great video; I appreciate how you broke it into stages. This is my first video seen of yours, and you've earned my subscription. Keep up the good work.
I play a lot of sandbox style games, saw a shit ton of tutorials and your tutorial was one of the best I have ever seen ! The comments speak for themselves I think :) so thank you so much !! I have a little question, I also like to work with farm plots, any tips on where to build my farming area that would not derail the zombies ? Would anywhere work or should I pay attention to particular placements? I'm too scared too fuck everything up for 10 farming plots hahaha thanks again ! 🙏
When I did my playthrough series, I just put them a little bit away from the base with a cute little fence. You just don't want them getting hit with random cop spit during horde night.
I recommend building to the side for storage ... you can always build out a connected crafting base. I did something like that in this base configuration: th-cam.com/video/szxHF5YGD44/w-d-xo.html
Built this base and loveing it just finished day 35 hoard and starting expanding the base from both sides did have problems with zombies getting stuck on steps would suggest putting some corner steps in to help with the flow

Been using your base design with a few minor tweaks since 1.0 came to console. Works pretty dang good, but playing with 1 or more friends most of the time and trying to modify it for ranged positions and robotic turret placements.
@@WaywardEko For starters I noticed Robotic Turrets don't fit in 1 full block gaps, so I put a 3/4 block on one side to fit them in, with plates on the outward facing sides to make it look more solid. Not 100% sure on positions yet, might raise the roof a block or two higher to put elevated positions adjacent or above the electric wire traps.
@@WaywardEko latest iteration I have done of it has the following modifications: First blocks on both sides of the fighting position have been replaced with cube 3/4's rotated to where the missing part is facing away from the fighting position block Then I placed plate ramps rotated where the sloped side faces the opening for the fighting position on the inside and outside of the cube 3/4 spots to cover the gaps, and above them to smooth it out. Then placed a column of 3 high scaffolding ladders rotated on their side next to the original fighting position, with plate ramps smoothing it out on the top and bottom. Along with stairs in the inside of the base ascending outwards towards the scaffolding ladders with a 1 block gap, followed by a hatch on top of the gap between the stairs and the scaffolding ladders. From there everything is pretty much the same, that makes 2 spots where robotic turrets can be placed underneath the hatches, and additional players can stand and fire on top of the hatches. For a player to fit in there, either crouch or walk in pretty centered, or perhaps replace the block directly above those positions with a cube 3/4 with the space facing downward, and do more of the plate ramps for smoothing as needed.

After the stair collapsed they started attacking the main base supports and we had to abandon the base or it would get destroyed. I'll try with heavier stair support this time. When it works it works really well.
Yeah - day 35 you need to be up to concrete and have the full base built!
Such a great base design. Super fun to tweak to ones liking as well, while keeping the core design in place.
Tweak away!!
The amount of work you put into this video i have to say thank you. GOD bless you.
You're very welcome!!
Wow, Next level build!! Never seen anyone do the progression and all the pre planning you do. Great work.
Thank you!!
You are AMAZING! You're guide is very through and you put outlines for how long blocks are placed for to make it easy to build.
Glad it was helpful!!
Fantastic tutorial mate - i've just finished building it on my Navezgane playthrough, looks great! Only broke my leg once 😂
If I don't break my leg at least once building a base, I don't feel like I put in the sweat!
I don't think it's possible to improve on these build guides any more than you've done. Absolute masterclass on the subject. Thanks for all of the work you put into helping us stay alive in the apocalypse!
There's always ways to improve!! I look forward to seeing other's takes on this that will move it to the next level!
im not a horde base type of person, but ill say that this video is nothing but quality. nice job!
Enjoy - this is a significantly stronger base than the Ekobox. It scales and has more space for traps.
I used the extra space in the middle of the interior to extend the fighting window to make a steel hatch fighting hallway, probably wont need it but i love my hatch hallways :) Love this build in my current world! Thank You so much for the top notch content!
Glad it's working for ya!
A nice base for sure. It highlighted several areas for a rugged beatification as well.
Thanks kindly!
I've built my base very similar to this. Yours just looks way more pleasing to the eye and I defitnitly took some notes and going to give my base a new facelift :D
Please beg borrow and steal! We all get better snagging pieces from each other!
one of best guide ever i see in youtube at all
Thanks so much!
No 1 video is perfect. Lets u plan ahead according to your mats at hand and know what items to collect
Glad you enjoyed!! Thank you!
Drop some pics in discord when you get it setup! Love seeing how people riff on other ideas!
This is really cool, I get the vibe of building Lego watching this.
I started getting back into 7 days on console and this tutorial is absolutely perfect. You earned yourself a sub sir!
Glad it helped!
Thanks so much!! Enjoy!
I would add blade traps surrounding the foundation pillars then and a single wiretrap on the pit nearest to base to reduce the digging zombies. Thanks for the vid and the community server, I have so much fun!
All great ideas!
Just done my first horde night after finishing the base. Worked a treat.
Awesome!!!!
Watching this build was great! I loved the details you provided. I actually built this base while you were building it on the streams and really like the upgrades you did with the base and the changes made.
Thanks! Hoping it gives some answers that folks were asking on stream!
@@WaywardEko It has definitely helped me out. I was excited to see how you were going to do the pit and the design for it is really nice. Keep up the great work on both the streams and the building tutorials!
Great video and thanks for being the only one that i seen that showing exactly how you built the horde base.
Glad you enjoyed!!
Ive played since early alpha and this may be the best base builsing vid ive seen
Thank you so much for that!
Very nice base design
And I like how you explained everything
Even after 4000 hours, I learned somethings
Thank you
Appreciate the feedback!
I love this base but any ideas on adding like a garage for vehicles? Maybe extending the back?
You could do something similar to what I did on the Eko Craft ... th-cam.com/video/szxHF5YGD44/w-d-xo.html
@@WaywardEko idk if I can do that with 11 blocks high 🤔 to much of an incline, I was thinking more like a dra bridge but that's a good option
Thank you! As a console player the change to 7dtd have been a lot to relearn 😂
This base design is going to truly help as I tried the old console base for the first horde and only just held on for the night!
So happy to have the console folks on the new version!
Love this base and it's evolution! Thanks for all the work you put into this very clear tutorial!
Thank you and enjoy!!
love how detailed and simple you make the tutorial! definitely want to see more like this
This is the direction I'll be going with the channel - more build focused blended with some mechanics vids.
best tutorial i have watched for a base BY FAR!!!!!! thank you for all of the work you put into this!!!!!!!! bravo good sir!!!!!
Thank you so much!
@@WaywardEko ur very welcome!!!!! 💜
Been waiting for this, I'll be building one out in the wasteland on my solo just for the adventure. Thanks for all the work I know that went into this.
Thanks so much Whistor!
Love how detailed your tutorials are thank you
Thanks so much!
Genuinely spent about 30 mins looking for this vid for like 2 small details and they were worth it love you vids so far. Keep up the great content 💪💪btw gyrocopters are the best but also the worst 😂
I'm so bad at piloting them... also thank you!!
Fantastic base design and great how to as well!
Great looking base and great guide, I'll certainly be trying my hand at building it.
Make sure to drop a picture on my discord when you're done!
Love this base, I used the same with a few minor tweaks. I am going to add a rear part for dew collectors, some farming and a vehicle storing garage down below towards the rear and a Gyro spot on the roof :)
Love seeing people make their own tweaks!! Please drop by my discord and drop a pic when you are done!!
All the additional instructions made this so easy to follow keep it up bro
Thanks so much!
Incredibly well thought out and made video. Simply perfect!
Thanks so much for the support!
Eko, I love your videos. Loads of design work and effort have gone into them. You take your time and explain them so well. Have you thought about using bottom plates at ground level and top plates at face level for your structural supports? If gives the zoms less to hit and you can walk through the space, as well.
thanks so much!!
I generally stray from mechanics like that which appear to defy real world physics - just a personal preference.
@@WaywardEko I used to be that way, but Minecraft broke me. :D
Instant sub for this video. Live the design and so well put together !
Thanks kindly!
Functional and stylish. Your builds and designs are a thing of beauty - excellent job 🙂
Thanks so much Sir!!
That's a great base. I'm definitely going to try it out. Thanks for the video.
Enjoy and thanks!!!
This base is awesome, I saw it used in video and had to try it. im new to the game so the building and placement of everything is confusing but fun. I luckily found 100 steel cubes in a airdrop so my supports are set lol. Though I'm setting this up on day 38 so it wont be ready for a while.
Welcome to 7DTD! Hope it treats you well!
One of the best instruction videos I have seen.
Thank you kindly!
Incredibly detailed breakdown. Super helpful video. Subbed!
You have an absolute gift, sir. Can't wait to celebrate 20k with you!
Thanks as always for the support brother!
This is awesome! I can't wait to build it tonight! I've been looking for a good early base idea I can bring into late game
Enjoy!!
im just finding your channel today......man.....dig your effort
sub earned
Thanks kindly!
Great video; I appreciate how you broke it into stages. This is my first video seen of yours, and you've earned my subscription. Keep up the good work.
Thanks kindly for that!
Thank you soo much for this idea, i just maked that base
Been looking for something like this, nit walk-throughs. Got a sub and like from me for just how well explained and step by step this video is.
Your kind words mean a lot to me. I appreciate the support!
Always amazing build tutorials Eko! Thanks for all the time you spent creating a great guide and for making it easy to follow!
Thanks so much Rook!!
The detail alone is worth a sub
Thanks so much!
Great base design. I'll use it in my next play thru...
Enjoy!
I'm not very good at building in this game, so this helps a lot, thank you
Glad to help!
Insane Work man! Insane!
New player and love the build trying it out now! i assume if i want to expand on the base i can always build up ? for more storage etc.
I recommend building to the side for storage ... you can always build out a connected crafting base. I did something like that in this base configuration: th-cam.com/video/szxHF5YGD44/w-d-xo.html
*Cries in steelless*
This is so helpful though! What an amazing and tough base! I'm on my way to day 21 now! LFG!! 😂
Get it!
You are a genius!
I love your base and video!! I'm gonna try it my next 7D2D game😆
Thanks kindly!
Built this base and loveing it just finished day 35 hoard and starting expanding the base from both sides did have problems with zombies getting stuck on steps would suggest putting some corner steps in to help with the flow
That makes sense!
What a fantastic tutorial. Really good. Thanks!
Thanks kindly!
Would love to see more build guides with this setup!
More build guides incoming ... likely different bases and formats!
@@WaywardEko that’s what I meant. Can’t wait

Really appreciate that!!!
I'm here from isyzens video and this base I'm gonna build, it's amazing I tried my own design but failed so I'm resorting to this epicness

I'm working on making this beast on xbox, I appreciate the video and can't wait to see how it turns out in the end. I'm already on day 60 so trying to super build it fast 😅

Thank you!
had first horde night in this last night. Went well very little repairs after.
Amazing job man, many thank for your effort, its a huge work! Base looks beautiful! Subscribed
Thanks kindly!
Great breakdown and build as always Eko
Thank so much!!
Gonna try this in my new game I just started and looking forward to it. Something to consider for the next version are dart traps.
You could put some in the pit, but you wouldn't be able to reload during horde. Dart traps are hard because they only fire in a direct path.
@@WaywardEko Haven't look closely yet but maybe the top fence post could be replaced with two dart traps, one on each side (in the 7 day+ version).
love this tutorial, complete description and easy to follow instructions, i sub'd and gave it thumbs up, how could i not ... thank you and hang in there, your channel will grow, it just takes patience, other than that, as far as i see you got what it takes to be successful; cheers!
Thanks kindly for the support!
Been using your base design with a few minor tweaks since 1.0 came to console. Works pretty dang good, but playing with 1 or more friends most of the time and trying to modify it for ranged positions and robotic turret placements.
Glad it's working for ya! Would love to hear about your modifications!
@@WaywardEko latest iteration I have done of it has the following modifications:
First blocks on both sides of the fighting position have been replaced with cube 3/4's rotated to where the missing part is facing away from the fighting position block
Then I placed plate ramps rotated where the sloped side faces the opening for the fighting position on the inside and outside of the cube 3/4 spots to cover the gaps, and above them to smooth it out.
In case it hasn't been mentioned on xbox controller you use X instead of R to select block settings.
Thanks for that! I'll start including some console shortcuts at the beginning of my tutorials for folks.
