    That is a great minute of deer budget rifle all day long. Winchester really did a good job with an affordable deer rifle like this. And with that Federal ammo it's better than minute of deer. Thanks for the showcase!

    Hootie! You had my heart skipping a beat when you tried to put that 3rd shot in the same bullet hole! In 40 years of shooting, I seen only my oldest target shooting brother do that: the first 3 shots out of my HK 93! You're a good shooter now for sure.

    I put about 200 rounds through it. I waited about 3 to 5 minutes in between each shot. I'm getting awful groups. I've upgraded to a Picatinny Rail Vortex Strike Eagle and Warne Precision mounts. I've gotten the occasional rounds touching, however I've also gotten a 4-in spread. When the barrel is warm. Groups are all over the place. Cold barrel. It's about 1 and 1/2-in group.

    • @mfuchs2004
      @mfuchs2004 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd say you're doing very well. You're getting sub-MOA with a budget rifle. This is a lightweight thin barrel model. It was not intended for firing hot, nor was it intended to remain cool like heavy barrels. You'll always hunt with a stone cold barrel, and you've proven it's sub-MOA under those conditions.

    I've always been curious about the XPR. It appears to me that it's a little more budget friendly version of the Browning AB3. The one experience I have with a friend's 30-06 AB3 hunter has not been the greatest. His Browning would, at best, shoot 1.5" groups with factory ammo. Even after working up a few dozen different handload recipes, 1.15" is the best we can get........ so far. We even tried 3 different mount/ring set ups, and four different scopes. We also made sure everything was torqued to spec. You can never rule out the human factor, but neither of us are casual shooters and between us there's about 50(ish) years of reloading experience. Hard to say at this point if we just haven't found a load the rifle likes or if he got a lemon, but it makes he hesitant to pull the trigger on an XPR. The two XPRs I've seen on this channel appear to be shooters though, so I'll leave the XPR on the "if the price is right" list. Another good video. Keep em coming.

      Mark…I’ve owned several XPR’s and they were all shooters. My father wanted the AB3 so he got one in 243 (recoil sensitive from heart surgeries). I’ve shot his AB3 and with the right ammo it’s a sub MOA gun. Last ammo that worked really well out of it was the Sig Sauer Elite Hunter Tipped.

I’ve got a browning hells canyon in 7mm Rem Mag, model 700 in 30-06 and after thinking about and researching, I’m interested in the classic 270 Winchester. I think that’s what I’ll get mine chambered in. Just curious, between the ruger American and XPR, which one you prefer? I know you love the Americans and I have one in 22-250 but the xpr seems like a tad bit better build quality imo.

    XPR vs Ruger American vs CVA. What would be your ultimate pick of the crop? Also followed your sight in process but not had the same results. Sighted in below at 10yd like you mentioned, but at 100yd, more than a foot above - which isn’t a huge issue because I can dial it in easily and be within 2” sight in with 3 shots. Is there anything you could think of I’m doing wrong? This has happened with my 300RUM, .308, .243, and 6.5CM - all using a lead sled.

      How high are your scope mounts? The shorter as possible, less off cast on height at 100 yards. Large scope objectives today do demand higher mounts. Interesting they all come off high when using a Lead Sled? Good luck!

      @@justincoffey7429 No offense meant with my comment. Historically, the Germans used high mounts on their sniper rifles, and they found that the 'mid range' trajectory on the cast of their bullets to their zeroed range was higher than when using lower mounts; they missed some midrange percison shots till they sussed this out. Keep laying in there, and have fun.

    Man your doing a good job with the rifle review !!
    I'm getting back to hunting after almost 21 years.... ( Long break ) not by choice.
    Did most of my hunting in central Europe my go to gun's was 16 gage side by side , 223 Remington and Remington 700 chamberd in 30-06.
    I would like to do something new , I was thinking maybe 270 not to small or to big now I see 6.8 Western 🤔.
    Damn to many options I live in the upstate NY so no Elk or Moose maybe 🐻 lol.

    I have been looking to get another 6.5 creedmoor. It has been a toss up between Ruger American, Winchester XPR, and Bergara. Which one would you suggest? I ask because usually when I watch WTW videos, you are shooting the American. And BTW, I already have a Remington 700 Varmint that is set up in 6.5 with an MDT stock for long range/bench shooting; the 6.5cm I am talking about is for hunting application. Walking and carrying it in mountains of Idaho.
