More playing vids please
Will do!
For those who can’t afford your school these type videos are so helpful, to see the consistency of movement while disregarding the movements of the hands and arms, great to see it on course
This isn't just a swing demonstration.. it shows how you can casually enjoy the game, walking on a cold hazy day.
I am very excited for this series! Watching you play and problem solve on the course is fantastic.
This is great stuff! Very convincing about your swing method. Would love to see more of it. It would be epic if you used a tracer cam to show everyone those sweet draws!
This footage of you is so helpful in seeing how you think your way around the course, how you swing And what it’s like to play around, utilizing your techniques. As other people have commented, keep this type of live footage coming along with a Shot Tracer and Front on view. Thank you again.
Jim, videos like this demonstrate that course strategy and commitment to the shot are just as important as one's golf swing. Thank you for sharing.
Very well said.
I started playing during covid. I watched these videos and then bought some used irons. I learned how to make consistent contact with this simple swing and eventually learned to hit driver last summer with a different swing. This led to watching other swing videos and I changed my swing. I'm a pretty athletic 52 year old but I cannot do what I can't do. As most experienced players know those swings will fatigue the body and you'll need a few days to recover. I need to go back to this swing...especially with driver.
Really enjoyed the video would be great to see more of these.
Stay tuned!
I’m looking forward to see more videos like this coach and one more thing thanks for choosing a course that is not super strict that you can wear any thing specific
I never thought to repair 2 divots, but now I will! Also, sand an extra fairway divot.
Bien hecho! Happy to come along-Thank you for the invitation.
👊
So cool, Jim 🤙🏼
Thank you 🙏🏼
What a beautiful video. Thanks for the effort and sharing that with us. Nice persistence and determination to get into the red numbers! 👊
Appreciate that. Persistence pays!
Very enjoyable thank you Jim.
Jim. I appreciate what you bring to the game. I'm gonna try out your school. Keep these playing vids coming. I could watch these all day. Relaxing like Bob Ross.
Thank you, the snow capped mountains and golfing in a tee is cool
Sure is pretty
Great video. The audio was good. The camera was good, Hey could you do a video on ball compression. I think other than slices being maybe the biggest talked about issue, the second biggest issue is ball compression. Most people cant even hit the ball with consistency but when they do hit it they scoop it and if they do compress it they really have no idea how or why it happened. Most people think they should hit the ball where they set up at address. Anyways Ive been using your swing for a couple years and its improved my game by 15 strokes. Was shooting in the 90s on a good day now Ive shot 75 twice so drastically better just wish I'd know about it before I was 49 so thanks for all the help.
Thanks Jim, great great demonstration of how golf can be played.
🙏
Outstanding!
So awesome!
Thanks Jim. It was enjoyable to watch.
🙏
Thank you so much for this video now we see how u play and how you method work great
Wow. Even par in Chuck Taylor All-Stars. No spikes. Impressive. Best display of your method ever. Got a lot out of this to tweak my JV swing.
1 under 👊
This video was enjoyable to watch. I’ve recently found your channel and watched much of the content. I’m a believer in the things you are teaching about the golf swing. I’m in Utah and this mild winter has also given me a couple of 9 hole rounds so far this year. I’m looking forward to learning from you and hopefully making improvements in my game. Thank you Jim
👊
Awesome -more of these!
Roger that
It is so helpful to watch you play on the course. Beautiful.
You’re too kind! Will be posting more playing videos this summer. Hope you are well sir!
Looks like a fun 9. Reminds me of my local muni in NY.🙂
👊
I loved this Jim.
I like these on-course video's Jim. I don't know if you have the technology to show shot tracer, but it would add something to the video's if we could see the flight and shape of the shots.
Kept waiting for you to say what course you were on!! Living in Utah seemed it was familiar to me…🫡
Oops…just read my answer…got it! I use your technique & love it but of course it’s only what I’ve taken away from watching you…even though a liot have questioned me…🤣
Nice...! Good finish
🙏
Iv been following you for yrs now Jim, love the course vlogs. Iv never heard of you referring to size 6 or 7 before? Also love the golf bag
That’s something I teach in my school. I scale all of my iron swings from 1-10
@@jimvenetosgolf oh, I understand, as in swing speed. That makes sense. Thank you
@@BenSmith-lm9yb negative. Not swing speed. Length of swing.
i watched your Vid of putting like the Golden bear. I was happy to see that as I have been doing it the same for a little while, stumbling along, trying all sorts , but found this style the easiest to repeat.
thanks for taking it on the course, I'm a visual guy, i hate hitting into a screen.
The way he set the flag down and repaired two divots had me questioning my life 😂
lol
@ 6:05 ... did you ever talk to that guy behind you? it looks like he got stung by a bee hahaha
Hi Jim, what a great video. Can you elaborate how we can develop a size 6 of size 7 or maybe easier how we can train maybe as an indoor session what is a 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full swing thanks in advance Léon
In my school I explain how you can develop the different length swings. Check it out!
Great video and great content. I’ve been trying your swing and while I definitely make better and more consistent contact with the ball, the ball travels inline with my feet and shoulder plane, meaning 45 degrees left (I’m left handed) of target. I can close my club face a lot at address to compensate, but I don’t see you doing that in your videos. What am I doing wrong?
Could be a few different things you’re doing wrong. Best to sign up for my school so I can see what you’re doing, you can learn the system properly and get my feedback.
Compete against a traditional TH-cam instructor, I would pay to see that! Money on you, you comfy player!
Jim I know you won’t care but it’s called
- Plug mark on the green
-Divot on the fairway
Not in my world. 👊
What course was that?
A little city track called Nibley park. It’s fun for a low budget, quick 9.
@@jimvenetosgolf I thought it looked familiar! I’ve played it a few times. There’s another course close by called Forest Dale, 9-holes, a bit nice. Also in SLC is Bonneville, 18-holes, really nice course.
[Edit] Just looked it up, and sure enough, it’s closed for the season. :-(
@@carlbaumeister3439 copy that thank you. I’ll be playing a couple more local tracks.
Love this Jim ❤
@@jimvenetosgolf If you’re willing to drive about an hour or so south, you’ll find the nicest little mountain-nestled course called Hobble Creek. That said, it might be closed for the winter.
Watching you is low stress brother.
Ball marks
you need a shot tracer
Your driver setup definitely looks more neutral than closed - is this intentional or just the camera angle maybe?
And I'm slightly confused by comments about "disregard arms" when thats pretty much the only thing moving in your swing. Not a critique at all, just an observation.
Copy that. The set up of my body is the same; hips and chest both closed at about 45deg, the difference is the ball position. With the ball in the front of the stance I appear less closed but I’m still just as closed 👊
Don't see jim setting on his right side like the videos.
@@lloyd8709 I set into my left side and I’m just as closed to my target as any video you’ve seen. The target is always to my back in the set up. 👊
No spiks ?
You don't look as though you are using the stance that you teach in your lesson videos. What you look like in this video is your using a slightly closed stance-very slight and then just using a normal swing. In your lesson videos because you never hit to a flagstick we have no idea where the ball is going. Why don't you walk out in that rocky desrt where you hit your shots and put a flagstick up directly down the site line so we can see where you are trying to hit it. I've never seen a ball land in any of your videos. Why not just put some white alignment lines on your green mat and that way we can see how you want us to align in regards to where we want to hit the ball. It just looks as though you hit it out into the wild blue yonder but we don't see any direction that it went. Paint some white lines on the mat and hit the ball straight at a flagstick. We can't tell where your shot went after you hit it.
I've tried what you have preached and basically it doesn't work-especially as regards alignment. Always looks to me like I am aiming too far to the right and trying to hit a big sweeping right to left shot. It never comes out to being a tight baby draw. Makes me feel like I have to come over the top in order to strike the ball-especially with the irons.
Why don’t you sign up for my school so you can learn the techniques properly and quit your rant about what’s wrong with my free golf instruction or pay attention better to my free alignment videos. You guys are ridiculous sometimes. Maybe I’ll just take all my free videos down and enjoy hitting sweet shots into the blue yonder. 🤔
Sir, I am not sure golf is the game for you. Jim is beyond generous with his time and free information. Have you started with the bump and run before you advanced to hitting shots? It seems like you want a magic pill.
Jim teaches foundational skills that build into the full swing. No amount of Shot Tracer, alignment, sticks, or whatever technology you are suggesting is going to supplant your hard work.
@@petecross22 very well said
More of these, loved it.
