At the age of 51 I have the reputation as the best ball striker in my club and it's due completely to Jim. Trust in what he has to teach and pure ball striking is possible for everyone.

I have been watching all of Jim’s videos and doing my best to replicate his swing. I am new to golf, only been playing for 5-6 months but I am progressing incredibly fast. I can strike my 5 iron further than most people drivers and not because I’m swinging hard, but because I do exactly what Jim says and make pure contact. I’m even working on fades and draws now. I used to think Golf was a old man’s thing but I caught the itch so bad that now it’s all I ever want to do. Stay sober, clear headed, don’t stand over the ball long and think too much and follow Jim’s technique. You’ll do well.
Been a member at Jim's site for 3 months. His method works. He makes other instructors look like con men. He makes a good point, if traditional teaching worked, why are there still so many bad golfers!
Well..why are all the best golfers in the world of the traditional method and not Jim’s. 30 years of teaching and not one single golfer on any tour plays with this method. Hmmm. Why is that?
@@jgrudenicstrumpet4369 lol! Not consistent? These guys are shooting subpar for 10+ rounds and more in a row. Your explanation is awful. Any pro could run circles around Jim or any of his students …but they’re more consistent? Do you hear yourself? I’ve done Jim’s school. His snarky comments and non-scientific approach is fun, but he’s disingenuous in not providing ANY facts to his sales pitch. Many people enjoy this method as I do. But his claims of pros being inconsistent and flawed is asinine at best. The pros are inconsistent? LOL!!!!!!!

I don’t like intellectual dishonesty and anecdotes being used as instructional content. ‘The players who ( he guesses) playing with closed shoulders at impact are winning the tournaments.’ What kind of a nonsense statement is that? And of course he has data/statistics to back up this claim? Of course not. Like I’ve said, if someone enjoys this method, as I have, that’s great. But Jim’s constant bashing of traditional golf mechanics being flawed and that tour pros are inconsistent is incredibly ridiculous. Why do you think Jim won’t get on a GEARS system and gather data to show the superiority of his method over traditional styles? Again, claims of it being a way to play golf ‘easier’ is fine. But his non-scientific, unmeasured, anecdotal statements are all just dishonest. Showcase the best students. Film them. Show them winning tournaments. Show us the TrackMan data. BACK UP YOUR CLAIMS. Otherwise the snarky ‘ you could be trying my style instead of asking me for data’ nonsense grows old real quick. It’s a nice method to hit some nice shots. He needs to stop with the technical aspects that he refuses to correlate with real research. It’s all anecdotal with him. A +7hcp student? Yeah sure. Enjoy this method. Just stay wary of his snake oil. Cheers.
The interviewer asks great questions and is an excellent active listener.
Jim Venetos--he is the Yoda of the golf swing. Zen AF, and a magnificent communicator.
I have been struggling with my game this season, mostly off the tee and then the irons have been both good and bad. I watched some of Jim’s videos about two weeks ago but did not try any of this methods. Friday i had a terrible round, just awful…toe shots, grounders. And a few good ones sprinkled in…this morning I re-watched a few videos, went to the range to work it in. Normally i just get a small bucket, but today i got a large and went with Jim’s set up, closed shoulders, weight on left side …. 150 balls, i never hit the ball so well. I didn’t have many draws but they were straight as an arrow. I had two driver runs one 10 balls, one 15…every one drilled straight, one or two were line drives but almost all high straight and long. It was amazing. I will join the academy. He is a genius.
I started golf at 63 when I retired. After floundering for 12-18 months using instruction from You Tubers ( no local coach) I saw Jim's swing being tested on the Golf Test Dummy channel. I watched a few of Jim's You Tube clips and tried it. It was better for me reducing my fade shot shape. I joined Jim's Academy and it turns out I didn't quite have the concept dialed in. Once I did get it right, my handicap started to fall ( 24 to 12 now). Using equipment that suits my ability/ flexibility or lack thereof, also helps me. I use SL irons 7-GW, SL hybrids 3-6, 4 wood and 12 degree Driver. I can fade the ball with this swing too if I want to. I broke 80 last month and I hit the ball as far as my peers, if not further.

Christopher did you follow the program from the ground up? Starting with small chipping and such? I’m also a member of the Academy but I’m in Connecticut so I can’t even go to a driving range (winter). I am doing indoor golf at a simulator once a week and have tried to work on the swing a bit but I have not been able to really take the time to build it from the beginning of his program on. Just curious if that’s how you did it?
@@justinv4638 yes I did from the beginning just like Jim recommended. I did cheat a little but not much. I’m not a huge fan of chipping with his technique , my shoulders are much more open. But otherwise the method is foolproof. He’s a genius

Is there a link to find out more about the school or academy. I have watched many TH-cam videos, and haven’t ever seen one. Most instructors put a link that one can click on to find out this information. I would like to know more about your school…ie… Cost, what it involves, and so forth… I enjoyed the core discussion. As I mentioned before, I use a lot of your teachings. I have watched the Graves guy from Oklahoma, teaching the Moe Norman swing. The stack and tilt method. As I’m a senior golfer that hits ball twice a week, and plays once a week. I have some medical issues with arthritis, especially in my fingers on my right hand. I use and have for a long time the Jumbomax grips. They’re the only one that I can play with. Because my fingers can’t bend enough to grip any others. I appreciate what people like you do for golf. What you’re saying does work for me. I just wanted to see what a deeper dive into your program is, other than just watching the TH-cam videos that pop up for us subscribers…

Been using Jim's swing since Aug 2020 . By Nov 2020 my handicap went from 14 to 9. In the offseason now in Colorado, but the trajectory of scores continued to decrease. It's an amazing feeling to be completely confident behind the full swing. One thing he didn't mention here is when you have a miss in this swing (contact and/or direction) you immediately can diagnose what you did incorrectly (didn't stay still or opened closed position before contact). I struggled for years trying to implement hundreds of traditional gold swings, thoughts, and techniques - it was just time wasted. If you are serious about improving your scores, this is a must. It's so straightforward it's sounds too good to be true, but it's 100% real.
If you are continually dealing with slicing the ball, highly encourage you to check out Jim's method. Having a natural draw is very nice.

Jim does an excellent job of describing what he teaches. But gotta say, it was painful to listen to the questions coming from someone with zero enthusiasm. I think Jim’s method has a lot of merit, and would be quick to adopt it, but at 87 years old I’m just trying to stay ahead of my physical limitations. Yes, the game can be played for a lifetime if you adjust your expectations.

The Venetos swing works okay with the short clubs but is no good with the longer clubs. Watch him demonstrate & you'll notice he's only using short clubs. You need a swing for the driver & fairway clubs also. Why would you want to have to develop two different swings?
It works with longer clubs, but in my experience, it is harder to trust the set up with longer clubs. When I do, it works great. When I start thinking-it sucks.

Try putting the ball bacj in your stance same position for every shot imho
A very interesting interview, almost. What a shame the interviewer was so monotone and lacking in personality with his questions and therefore boring. The only thing that made this interesting was Jim's answers and personality.
