    This problem just happened to my 2013 f150. After searching online, found your video. Not only do you show me how to fix it, you sell me the part to replace it with. I just ordered the part. Thank you for this video and replacement part.

      @@1AAuto this was an easy fix. After replacing the failed part, my fan is now working properly. It still had the original part as well. The most time consuming thing was loosing the bolts to the part. The confined space under the dash made it more difficult removing the bolts. Your video and suppling and supplying the part made everything easy. Thank you.

    1) Lowest blower fan setting, which I use 90 percent of the time, not working on my 2009 F150.
    2) Watched the accurate, easy-to-follow video from 1A Auto.
    3) Cost of part from 1A Auto -- under $30.
    4) Installed part easily in about 20 minutes.
    5) Saving around $50 to $70 repair shop labor, plus the satisfaction of "doing it myself" --- PRICELESS!
    6) A BIG thanks to 1A Auto!

    BEST VIDEO WITH PERFECT INSTRUCTIONS!!! In this Houston Heat, you need the AC working almost all year long. Just not blowing on high all of the time. Sue did an AMAZING job with this video. I must admit that I did not have time to wait to order my part from 1A Auto, but will consider doing so in the future. I watched this video once, went to buy the resistor, and changed it out in about 10 minutes. That back screw took a few minutes to get out, but super easy to get in. I'm just an IT Guy and was able to do this. July 2, 2023

    I have a 2014 F-150 and noticed my fan stopped blowing except for when it was on the max fan speed setting 4. Thanks to some Googling, and in particular, this video, I was able to diagnose, order the part, and perform the repair myself. It was only 3 7mm screws for the glovebox and 2 additional 8mm screws to remove where the Blower Motor Resistor is mounted. I did not even have any felt to deal with in my case. It was also easy to unclip the old part and replace it. Access to the 8mm screws is a little bit of a tight space and tricky, but still not too bad with a ratcheting style wrench. Actually all in all a very easy DJI repair for a novice to do start to finish in under an hour while taking your time, and quite an inexpensive part as well. Thanks so much for making this video!

    Hello, I'm not sure how long it will take to get any responses from you guys or anyone commenting. My dad owns a tire and auto care center and diagnosed this with my 2010 f150 over the phone. Hi Sue, great video. I have a 2014 lariat. I have humming sound in the blower area whenever I put the fan speed on high and only high. I removed the blower and it was clean. I put a small mirror under to look up to see if there was anything up there. There is a mesh screen that has pine needles and debris. I can reach up and touch the screen but the needles are on the opposite side. I’m not sure if some got through or even how to clean it. Or if that is making the noise. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Sue

    Would a bad resistor cause a very bad burning smell in the cabin when the heater is on? It only happens when I stop at a red light or parked, but when I’m driving the smell goes away.

    • @trevlouie

      Resistor also check your fuse or relay if they good then check your other settings on your controls, if they work then check your resistor if it good then check your wires but if it's bad then change them

  • @redskies12incs

    I have a huge problem. I have a 2010 ford f150 platinum. Heater ac stop working last year. Realized it was this connecter. But I didn't realize I could replace it. I ve dealt with this problem before. I loaned truck to my brother so he could drive to work which was literally less then 2 miles from work. Was only supposed to be work back as I wanted to see if I could fix my issue which is what's in this video. Mind you this is happening in December 2022. He made my truck a daily driver and now the wires and connecter that connect to this are melted and burnt. Are those words easily replaceable? Or am I looking to outside work to replace them

  • @kennethrutt7986
    @kennethrutt7986 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Mine was going back for a long time, by the time I replaced it, the connectors had started to melt. I got a new resistor unit, it is the right one, but now nothing works. Any chance of the truck just needing to calibrate to the new unit...like it would for vent actuators?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kenneth Rutt Thanks for checking us out! It may be possible the blower itself has gone out as well. Typically you won't need to re-calibrate this when a new resistor is put in.

They told me the issue was that the resistor and the connector are not "clicking" together. They wanted $350 to replace the connections. Has anyone else had this issue? I want to be sure this is the issue before I go through that cost.
