Love the way The Smiths always treated Ireland as a major "territory" - full Irish tours including Cork, Limerick, Galway etc, TV appearances, mentioning Ireland in their songs - and all this when most international bands gave Ireland a wide berth during the so called political issues and of course these other "stars" only ended up playing Dublin when they were persona non grata - Duran Duran, Iron Maiden being a case example - flat out ignored Dublin and Belfast until their careers were in the dumper, meanwhile The Smiths treated the Irish as an "A" market. Class.
Read in Morrissey's they played Waterford too, must have been amazing to see them in the flesh. Caused Beatles delirium apparently and you'd believe it
Some additional bands who played Ireland in the 1970s & 1980s when others were too afraid: Depeche, Echo, New Order, Lloyd Cole, Genesis, Quo, acdc, Sime Minds, Big Country
Jesus. RTE has fallen a long way! If you told someone back then Ireland would be 20 times as rich but whatever TV shows we had left would be populated by non entity RTE ‘stars’ and socialites they’d have a hard time believing you.
Yeah, alright, love, grind that axe. I’m not entirely sure how Morrissey has been cancelled given that his music seems to be played on BBC 6 Music every five minutes, his last album was reviewed everywhere on its merits, the video for his last single was on on heavy rotation anywhere that still played videos, and he remains, as ever, like catnip to the music press. If I was as cancelled as Morrissey supposedly is right now I’d probably be dying from over-exposure.

We're all part Irish in Manchester, Maher, Joyce, Rourke, you know, these are Catholic boys.
Sure they’re all practically Irish. Morrissey began his world tour this year in .... Kerry!!
i think most if not all of the members parents came from ireland!

@@markofsaltburn do you miss the point of all jokes or just this one?
The irony of you calling others neckbeard
@@stupidhandles is this your second account, sweetheart?
Hey Morrissey, I hear you're a right-wing reactionary now!
YOU are a left-wing reactionary. Moz is just himself
Yes and?
A right wing Morrissey is still better than a spoon fed propaganda inhaler like yourself.
Rubbish !!!
