Covering a band (who within two albums) solidified legendary status. Peppers accomplished so much, but seeing them “jam out” to such an iconic band really reveales the difference in depth, dynamics and magic Joy Division had in its short life. Truly groundbreaking.
Holy fucking shit. I’m 29 and I’ve been a fan since I was a toddler when my young and loud Italian mother, a HUGE Joy Division fan, would blast the Chili Peppers in the car and I would air drum while feeling the bass in my veins and guitar shooting across my spine and the words cradling my thoughts. I am a musician because of them. And them with Frusciante!? That’s my musical inspiration and I can’t WAIT to see them here in Miami with my mom and fiancé with baby Jack in the belly 🙏🏼 FUCK YES!
This is so awesome. I am a singer and my 18-year-old son would sing full lungs a song by a Brz band called Skank. when he was 8 sat in the child seat in the car. He also changed the lyrics and the song became even coller. God bless our musical famílies and ancestors🎵🤘✨
There was a video on TH-cam with a complete cover concert of Joy Division, with Flea on the bass, John on guitar and voices and, I think (not 100% sure), Josh on drums.

If I'm not mistaken, he also did a bit of (I feel love by Donna Summer) at the end of Snow. I think he was really having fun🤪, very rare of him, but totally adorable😎 Someone was certainly listening to radio in the house where he grew up😄
I just bought my first telecaster on this same day, and i haven’t bought a guitar in like 30 years so i think it’s awesome John played a tele on this day!
One of such moments... Still remember Sixteen Horsepower playing Heart & Soul Pinkpop 1998. Turned out they warm up with JD before rehearsing their own stuff.
Me neither! My friends and I had spent the day before in the streets of Manchester, recreating some photographs of Joy Division. When the cover started, we were surprised.
This is why they brought John back.. Edit: although I do think it’s really immature & selfish of John not ignore most of the songs that he wasn’t a part of writing. (Dave Navarro era and even though I’m not to familiar with Josh’ era.. I still understand lots of people love those songs that Josh plays on..
Epic! We were not far from where you filmed this Federico! What's been your best concert so far? Just wish they could do Glasgow 🏴 but time is running out before 🇺🇸 tour!
Props to the guy screaming “shadowplay” recognizing it immediately! 🌶️❤️
Yeah, that's me! I went back to Manchester this year to visit Ian Curtis' grave and even made a video there for this channel.
Italian guy
After the girl says "Cosa cazzo sto sentendo?" my heart was there with you
Amo tutti i musicisti che coverizzano i pezzi anni 70 we 80 punk and dark wave. Hack gran n'amico. Grazie x il vd
Yeah then they went and fucked it

The look of happiness on John's face when they carried it off so we'll and the crowd appreciation has made my day.
Oh hell yeah.
I agree. This is a good performance, but something clearly is "missing."
@@rogermoore9795 👌👌
Totally ruined a classic . Bernard Sumner was and NEVER will be a fret-wanker .
Shadowplay + Cosmic Slop, these guys are insane
Actually "Hardcore Jollies" instead of "Cosmic Slop"
This cover is slop
No words. Just the peppers in their best formation
They were great with every guitarist but John is special . I was fortunate to see them with josh though and it was a great show
No that was uplift mofo
Yes, no words
Just realized you meant no words, literally
Playing Joy Division! Can you believe it?
Mate, the way he electrifies into that higher pitched riff after the first one!!!!!!!!!!!! Wowwwwwweeeeeee
Makes me emotional, honestly. Joy Divison songs on their own tend to do that anyways. Then you have JF going all god mode on the riff. Damn.
Man, this is insane
John is as good as ever, incredible!
Was there!! Best intro of tour by far
V jel. I am seeing them in Dublin next week. Hopefully we get something similar!
@@robevans1672 I'm waiting they play in Argentina, would be sick 🤯🇦🇷
Someone asked Flea to play it on insta apparently and he tweeted before they decided to play it literally 2 mins before going on 🤟
Mind blowing. You never know when you’ll get a real rare moment. And John freakin shreds that solo.
It's not supposed to be shred, the song is meant to be restrained

Sí, Josh Klinghoffer en la batería!
i think,it was actually just audio, with some "Still":-) image...
WHAAAAA...Ian Curtis must be dancing his ass off in heaven!!!!
He be turning in his grave to this

Thought they might do a Manchester derived cover, nice touch from the boys. Going to see them in London on Saturday and I cannot wait!
You are a legend for getting this, thank you!!! It was mind blowing live!
Same! It literally made me cry! It was a beautiful intro to an amazing gig!

Absolutely the greatest intro on this Tour. No doubt! I'm speechless. Thx so much for share!!! 🙏🏻 🎸🔥✊🏻
Intro? That's the first song they played while in Manchester? Class acts!

Brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing this!
At 3:15 Chad Smith looses a stick, a flying stick!!!
He did some crazy stick throws when he played with Iggy Pop live... I was amazed by that.
Great performance!!

Jesus christ, I would scream to death if i hear it live

wow, legendary cover
The y are covering a Manchester band in Manchester.
Chills !
The ultimate tribute....sort of understated with no vocals, but sort of massive with such a ton of musical vocals!
That was not understated, what did you listen to? Over drumming and over shredding a song that's meant to be restrained.
Top! No words!
Just love this song ♥️♥️♥️🇨🇦
Demasiado bueno
the girl that screamed “CHE CAZZO STO SENTENDO” in italian HAHAAHHAHAHA
