    If you're willing to make a video on the whole wiring process, im pretty sure a few of us here would sit down to watch it. How one person wires up a ECU, isnt the same as everyone else

      100% , ive watched skid factory since the start... but i still have been too scared to wire my haltech into my 1jz which ive had all the bits for , for well over 2 years now 😂 , im mechanically inclined but as far as wiring goes basic, can get a motor running if there is a detailed write up on a not dead forum when its basic like colour to colour splicing of 2 looms lol but thats it

    • @ChristopherHallett
      @ChristopherHallett 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@michaellukies1319 You've gotta break it down into individual parts that you can make one at a time, then bundle them up and make it into a loom at the end. Like, wire up the coils, one at a time. Then wire up the injectors, also one at a time. Congrats, you're a third of the way done already and it only took one afternoon!

    Just a thought for you to ponder Scotty, wouldn't it be better to have the thermocoupler amplifier in the engine bay to plug the eight thermocouplers into. That way anytime the motor has to come out, you can leave the manifolds on engine and leave all of sensors in the manifolds and be easier to unplug them from amplifier and lay the leads and plugs over engine than remove all the sensors and have to reposition them to correct depth and direction into manifolds every time. Be neater wiring with only one amplifier lead and plug going into cabin instead of eight leads and plugs. Just my observation. Love your work mate!!

    Scotty a couple of things about your wiring. I would seriously reconsider the placement of the thermocouple amplifier. One I don't think those leads look long enough to reach the drivers side front bank, across the back of the firewall, inside and back to the amplifier, and two if there is a convenient spot in the engine bay you would only need to run one wire inside instead of eight. Second thing I would caution you on the CAN bus hub.
    In the video you plugged the Haltech dash into the hub and talked about hiding the wiring... This is more than likely going to lead to electrical signal heartache and CAN bus problems. People far smarter than me explain why. I strongly recommend that you look at a video called "CAN Bus: A Beginners Guide Part 1" by Hardware Electronics to find out exactly why this is going to cause you issues. The two videos (part 1 & 2) are a valuable watch, but 22:44 of the first video explains quickly why this is a very bad idea.

    • @STREETMACHINETV
      @STREETMACHINETV  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The thermocouple leads are 2.3m long, they'll be plenty long enough.

    • @DodgyBrothersEngineering
      @DodgyBrothersEngineering 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@STREETMACHINETV OK only look about 6ft max in the packet (not even). But will still probably use what you have there pretty fast. Rough numbers from front cylinder back to the firewall say 70cm (roughly) add another 100cms (roughly) from firewall across to where the grommet hole is in the firewall, then you have to come back the other direction say another 60cms. I don't think you are going to have a lot to spare on that front drivers side bank (unless you plan to drill a hole in the middle of the firewall for the probes.
