I don't think any of the impossible chests were made that way on purpose, more likely is that either the spawn coordinates were entered incorrectly or the chests were accessible at one point in development but as they reshaped the geography in some areas those chests ended up with spawn coordinates that were no longer possible to reach through normal means

I consider this THE MOST epic moment in the life of the game. This is some "super-convoluted playground rumor BS"- level riggamaroll, but it's actually REAL! The man, the myth, the legend, Kleric, strikes again!
I think that the best moment in BOTW is the discover of the memory storage glitch, from the begining of the game poeple want to get the bow of light and now with this glitch you can have the bow of light outside the battle vs Ganon legit (without using hack) *and* without any drawbacks (drawbacks like, impossible to save, Ganon still here invisible shrine ...)
i’m just now attempting learning some speed running glitches and just glitches in general and seeing stuff like this being accomplished makes me realize i have a long way to go
Most of (besides one) of these glitches are useless in speedruning. Windbombing, btbing and shield clipping are much more useful (also fall damage cancels and scope clips)
These glitches all build on each other and they’re not that hard to pull off, all you need to do is to practice them. Besides, this being accomplished was not because of glitches, but because of the incredibly precise steps that you need to take in order to achieve it.
Same here! After seeing the trailer for BotW 2, I figured there might be a chance that the glitches would work there too, so I might as well get good before it releases. My windbombs are still the worst, but I'm getting the hang of it!

Yeah, you do need to do all these precise steps, but the steps themselves consist of various glitches. for those wondering why an impossible chest containing an early item exists, this is very likely some remnant of very early testing the devs were doing for the behaviour of chests or something like that. there are some other games that have seemingly non sensical pieces of props, map pieces or some sort of interactable placed out of bounds in places you really were never supposed to be, that were found later by either glitching or data mining/modding by the community. again, these are leftovers from WAAAAY early in development when they were testing basic map and engine functions.
Absolutely cool stuff. All those brainstorming in the server with El Duende and LetMeThinkOfAUsername really paid off for the most elusive amber in the game :) Congrats on the achievement! Next is the Shock Arrow, hopefully!
@@john_jarvis It sits above the overworld’s height ceiling. It takes almost half an hour of moon jumping just to get the arrow to register on the Sheikah Sensor. I would say the out of bounds of the out of bounds
@@john_jarvis There aren't many times you can collect elemental arrows without them being in a chest, but it's probably like with the shock arrows stuck in the trees and the ground on Ploymus Mountain near the Lynel. He didn't actually shoot them, they're coded to spawn there. I think there are a few more stuck in trees along the path to Zora's Domain.

There is a known glitch to make the Gambling mini game chests empty, and you can tell the game doesn't know exactly what to do with them because it just gives you the message "Your inventory is full" and then closes.

This reminds me of Fermat's Last Theorem. In that, mathematicians pursued a seemingly impossible proof, spending disproprotionately huge amounts of effort relative to the value of the proof itself. They mostly did it for the sense of academic personal reward (though it did spawn fringe benefits.) Similarly, here, Kleric is spending ungodly amounts of effort for something of seemingly little value, simply to see if it can be done. Whilst this might seem pointless, it's exactly motivations like this, in other contexts, which are responsible for some of our greatest progress. I wonder if some folks watching this miss that point. But I say, Bravo!

They probably just accidentally spawned a chest in the wrong place, or did something that made the chest inaccessible, and then forgot to fix it. Considering BOTW has like, over 1300 chests, you can't blame Nintendo for placing 5 or 6 in places "impossible" to get to.

Actually, this Link has probably already saved her a couple times, only to be booted out into ruined Hyrule once again. He no longer makes such mundane goals, since his world is made of lies.

This was extremely impressive. I don't even know how to do the Olly Clip you used to get in the ground!
To do a Olly Clip You have to have full stamina or more and then shield surf bullet time and when you land on the ground imediately spam jump when links body looks wierd spam jump 3 time in a row and then when link clips let go of bullet time if you want to now more go to klerics youtube channel the who made this video and go to his video
Do what the above comment said but activate moon jump as well, as it makes it easier to do and you don’t have to mash like at all

I remember a dev saying they can’t have empty chests in the game. So an item has to be placed in it. Wish they were weird ‘test’ items.
There is a known glitch to make the Gambling mini game chests empty, and you can tell the game doesn't know exactly what to do with them because it just gives you the message "Your inventory is full" and then closes.

I mean, this chest is inaccessible by accident. The map was probably different, with the devs likely forgetting to move the chest after changing it.

This reminds me of Fermat's Last Theorem. In that, mathematicians pursued a seemingly impossible proof, spending disproprotionately huge amounts of effort relative to the value of the proof itself. They mostly did it for the sense of academic personal reward (though it did spawn fringe benefits.) Similarly, here, Kleric is spending ungodly amounts of effort for something of seemingly little value, simply to see if it can be done. Whilst this might seem pointless, it's exactly motivations like this, in other contexts, which are responsible for some of our greatest progress. I wonder if some folks watching this miss that point. Probably just a placeholder for nintendo to just copy and paste the chest where ever it's needed and change the item inside.
They probably just accidentally spawned a chest in the wrong place, or did something that made the chest inaccessible, and then forgot to fix it. Considering BOTW has like, over 1300 chests, you can't blame Nintendo for placing 5 or 6 in places "impossible" to get to.
