Before working on the rear brakes it is necessary to put the car into "brake maintenance mode". This disengages the electronic brake release and makes the car rear brakes safe to work on.
Thank you for this video Nigel. The manual way worked exactly as your video shows. We have a 2019 Mondeo automatic and made changing the rear pads seamless
It's the newer Fords that this manual method doesn't seem to work on. Mine is a 2017 with Bush Button start. Tried the manual way for 30 minutes but nothing. Downloaded ForScan and bought a Vlinker ELM327 cable and it worked from LapTop no problem....Enter and Exit Parking Brake Service mode options are there.
Awesome tutorial, mate can I ask do you know how to put the tire pressure on the dash board as you have? I have the TPMS however does not show me the pressure on single tires. But alert me when tires are flat.
Using the menu selector on the steering wheel. Back all the way out and then down until you get to Driver assist. The last one in the list is Tyre monitor. Enter and enter Tyre pressure. Voila!
Just done it on my Mondeo took m15 mins to get my head around the video but worked. Great video. Thanks mate. Cheers

Thanks for the reply. Mine’s a 2018 but with key ignition. At least the Forscan method works.
Hi, Nigel when you put the car in Maintenance mode can you turn the ignition off to work on the car?
Yes

@@NigelEaland I will try mate, but I think I only have the reset option. That asks me to push down to reset.
@@coolissimo69 I think you can enable the pressure gauge in the menu by using the Forscan program. I haven’t tried it.
What is your ODB USB adapter please?
ELMconfig USB bbflyOBD BF32302 USB FTDI chip compatible HS-CAN / MS-CAN for Forscans OBD2 amzn.eu/d/ipXeHPQ
