What you're essentially saying about the power band going from stage 1 to stage 2 is that stage 2 has a significantly stronger mid range torque band. For me, when I went from stage 1 to stage 2, I thought the power difference was VERY noticeable. @@Demoaccount-i2k yes intercooler is necessary for stage 2 if you want to make consistent power and not strain your turbo / engine . These engines heat soak quickly , a good intercooler will resolve that issue . When you have an upgraded intercooler, you are bringing the charge air temps down to near ambient which is denser more oxygenated air, which is more power. An intake however you could get away with because the stock air boxes are pretty good on these cars, but I would suggest a turbo inlet and air box upgrade at least .

I’m looking at 2018 s3 ie stage 2 already on it with everything. Say is 400hp 426ftrq I’m looking for decent nice sport car and decent quick. Can has 64k and he asking 33k
Is that Canadian? Right now in my area (near Toronto in Ontario Canada) you can find low mileage 2020s for less than 33k USD, I’d prefer finding a well maintained one that’s never been tuned and mod it myself, just for a bit more peace of mind, but that’s just my opinion
a stage 2 s3 is plenty quick though haha and I came from a 455hp/tq v8 Camaro
@@JayChesterman that is here in us Colorado local to me. Says has all work done and info on it that’s a 2018 if look up 2020 here a lot more money
I personally would stay away from ANY tuned S3. You dont know how beat up it is, how hard it was driven. Buy one stock, never tuned, and do it yourself.@@BrendanDalponte
@@xxsekoxx yes I understand that but also save a good amount of money
to go stage 1 what do you need i have a 2016 s3 stock ?
you’ll need an intake and the stage 1 software from one of the tuners, if you just get the stage 1 ecu tune you’ll have to run the low torque tune, but if you purchase the DSG (transmission) tune as well you’ll be able run the high torque tune
@@JayChestermanthanks and for stage 2 ?
@@MiguelMendoza-re3nr stage two you need a downpipe and then the stage 2 tune, the dsg tune is required as well though, an intercooler is recommended but I don’t have one and havent had any issues
@@JayChesterman appreciate the help definitely want too go stage 1 here soon
@@MiguelMendoza-re3nr no problem man! and you’ll love stage 1 for sure, the car goes from a quick car to a fast car haha
