I also have a s3 8v. I would pair the car with an Audi RS3 8v resonator and muffler. Deeper sound in combination with a down pipe. Its a better choice than an aftermarket exhaust. They all sound like a fart cannon😂 For me i would go directly from stock to stage 2, im a mechanic so i can do the work myself.

Hi guys I’ve a question if you could help I have an 8v with stage 1 and ram air intake running 365bhp and 504nm could I upgrade th exhaust and intercooler and keep stage 1 tune ? Would I get more hp and torque ? And would it benefit the engine keeping stage 1 with the upgrades ? Cheers
@@gordy7868 hey man! the intercooler won’t add horsepower or torque, but it will technically boost performance by helping to reduce heat soak in the event you’re doing hard driving on a really hot day or doing back to back pulls (these cars are known for heat soak which will temporarily reduce power) you can definitely run an upgraded intercooler and exhaust and stay on the stage 1 tune though

Yeah i got stage 1 with a cts intake and a turbo elbow, res delete and opened and unplugged exhaust valves and it takes off so fast feels like something could break i got the turbo elbow last and paired it properly with the intake and it was very noticeable difference
In the UK you can get stage 2 but the decat downpipe is illegal for UK public roads, as removal of the cat leaves the car breaking emissions legal limits, which would be picked up at the MOT. I'd love to know how people keep stage 2 on the road, as id love to get it for my S3..

put a Borla cat back on it and keep the vibrant resonator. The Borla paired with a downpipe and vibrant resonator sounds amazing. I have it on my 8v A3 and it's not too loud, the drone is not terrible but it's present on the highway.
So it's similar to the RS3. Stage 1 is worth it but from Stage 1 -> Stage 2 costs $$$$ and the HP gain is not THAT significant so it's not worth to some people.

Technically a Stage 2 with all the bolt ons (turbo inlet, intake, downpipe and intercooler) is muchh easier on the turbo and will make your car perform way better no matter the conditions. Will be more reliable on the long run.
@@ImpatWiFi before the mods i was probably around 20 and after I’m around 19 I get bad mileage because 99% of my driving is 5 minute trips around town in stop/go traffic so I’m not a great point of reference Driving style will also heavily impact, you’re most likely going to have a heavier foot once you’re stage 1/2 just because it’s way more fun haha
That's a pretty generous number if I'm being honest, but definitely possible with the stock is38 assuming you have really good fuel and full bolt ons. 90% of stage 2 EA888.3s make low 300s to the wheel, but easily mid 300s for torque.
yeah my bad, according to IE there was a change in the S3 starting in 2019 for the remainder of the 8v gen (2021) that allows them to squeeze out a bit more power from their stage 2 tune I was confusing that with the facelift

I have a s3 8v 2019 but i got 381hp with stage 1 ECU and TCU tune. is this dangerous? it was done on a dyno. i drive this tune for 1 year now 20k miles.
@@janjanssen9953 not “dangerous”, as long as you take care of the car you should be good! having the car tuned is increasing the risk of something going wrong but these cars have shown to overall be very reliable at stage 1 and 2

@@MatthewMatt-p7g yeah it’s a bit of a trek from here haha you’ll love the car for sure, in terms of what to expect from ownership my experience so far in the past 2 years has been amazing I’ve had no issues (aside from a small coolant leak I caused by not tightening a clamp enough when installing the IE intake As long as you make sure you do your maintenance you should be good! One thing to look for though would be the water pump, it’s been a known issue on the MQB platform, although mines held up thus far and I’ve been stage 2 for coming up to a year now
@JayChesterman yes. The waterpump is definitely an issue. I have an S3 and my girl has an A3 2.0, and I've had to do the waterpump on both cars. I'm no mechanic, but if you follow the videos on here that show you step by step how to change them, you will save a ton of money. The waterpump itself is not expensive, it's the labor. It took me about 4 hours to do each car when it was time for it. No issues ever since.

that’s the same setup I had on stage 1 except I had my valves plugged in, it’s actually crazy how much power this car gains from that stage 1 tune
love my full stage 2 just went in to finish off the last bolt on's for stage 2 the APR charge pipes. only thing left is fuel system and hybrid turbo.

2017-2020 are all similar 8V facelift. 2016 had different headlights.

But in the netherlands we have 98 and 102 fuel and the tuner adjusted the tune on that octane. maybe that has something to do with the higher hp.

i'm not familiar with stage 1+ but it's most likely just a stage 1 tune paired with the TCU tune to allow for the high torque map (for DSG cars)
I'm assuming he might be talking about stage 1 flex fuel eith an ethanol mix

that’s if you get an upgraded intercooler, you could get an intercooler on stage 1 as well if you wanted to maximize performance
