    The Santa Cruz will be remembered for its uniqueness. The Tuscon is just like any other SUV on the road. Both are great. If you ask a general consensus of what's more preferrable, most men will say the Santa Cruz is more preferrable whereas most women would choose the Tuscon. If you live a more rugged lifestyle, the Santa Cruz is the best option, if you live a more posh lifestyle the Tuscon is the best option.

      Agreed. I have a Santa Cruz and use it more for utility. Hauling, loading.
      The Tuscon can haul and load (not to the same scale as the Santa Cruz, but my wife feels more content in an suv Tuscon.
      The men want the Cruz, the women want the Tuscon.

    The higher trims have lovely heated leather-wrapped steering wheels. Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooove mine all through our Canadian winters. (Which are definitely colder than yours!) I do prefer the knobs and buttons of the base center stack over the all-touch stuff in the Limited. Hoping that when we replace my wife's train wreck of an Equinox (2020 and hasn't made it through a single winter without issues yet!) with a Tuscon PHEV. The Tucson is really nice. trade the car in for a new 2023 Jeep compass with the new 2.0l turbo, I bet if you wait a year '24+ it will be a hybrid ev too, nag the engineers for jeep and it will happen they finally put a 2.0 turbo in and their 4xe design uses the new system, tic toc it's coming.

    Can you get the wheel trimmed in leather aftermarket?

  • @chadecoen
    @chadecoen ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you say you put a 4'x4' pallet in the bed? Is there 4' between the wheel wells? How'd it fit? My biggest concern with a micro truck is the occasional trip to hardware store for plywood or sheet goods flat in the bed. But even if it doesn't lay flat, still beats trying to get it in a hatch!

    • @krtwood
      @krtwood ปีที่แล้ว

      No you can't. Have to go to a Ridgeline or full size truck for that. Both the Santa Cruz and Maverick are designed to be able to put the tailgate at an angle to support full sheets of plywood level with the top of the wheel wells.

    Wow, trading from one poorly built vehicle to another poorly built vehicle? These two vehicles combined will not last as long as one Toyota.
    Hyundai GDI engines are garbage.
    The gas mileage on newer cars have not improved significantly in the last 2 decades. Let’s not be penny wise, dollar stupid!

    Hyundai/KIA have had too many serious design flaws & major recalls for my taste, & I've read that getting them to honor their warranty on various developed problems is sometimes a major undertaking. So, I just don't trust the two sibling brands. Also, the styling tends to be odd, over-the-top and/or off-putting in some manner.

    When the Santa Cruz transmission fails, it goes into what Hyundai calls 'limp' mode, you speed will drop to 20 mph... VERY DANGEROUS on highways, or any road. You take it in to Hyundai service they will tell you, they never have problems with this car, and no, there are no recalls. THERE ARE RECALLS ON THAT TRANSMISSION.... Contact your State's Attorney General and the BBB, Im in California and my Attorney General has been very helpful... unlike Hyundai. Is you own one of these, I recommend sell it before... either the transmission goes out, or the work gets out that these are lemons... and the value drops. Im betting Hyundai will terminate this transmission or the Santa Cruz all together... Besides, Toyota is coming out with their sub-compact Truck for 2024.

    I say just buy a Ford instead. Hyundai does not stand behind their products and only Hyundai and Kia have vehicles that 10 year olds can quickly steal with a screw driver and the end of a USB cable due to not having an immobilizer in the cars (my old 2000 no option Ford Escort had an engine immobilizer and yet a modern hyundai does not)
