  • @isaac_aren

The Kingdom of Hyrule in botw was definitely aware of other civilizations and even considered them a threat. The Akkala Citadel is clearly set up to be a coastal defence fort. The cannons face away from Hyrule, the main gate does face Hyrule, the high cliff is towards the sea. Hyrule knew about something and were scared of it

Fort hateno is set up in a similar fashion as well. As seen in age of calamity the buildings of the fort were all within the walls as they should be. The fort also sits at a choke point making it easier to defend and the only reason that necluda isn't completely overrun. The only other way to invade hyrule by sea is from the south but lake hylia and the faron jungle would slow progress and the bridge could be used as a temporary defense and could even be destroyed in a last ditch effort. but seeing as the citadel is in akkala, the biggest threat probably comes from the northeast and could also give the reason nothing has been built other than the ruins, which could have been outposts to warn for an attack, same as robbie's lab which is a lighthouse and who, other than another civilization, would be coming to akkala by sea.
The defense strategies set up by the kingdom also seem to disregard the northern and western parts, which do have a deadly trench between them, but does give way to no or friendly neighbors to those directions. I say no as there are no ways across nor any signs of a crossing point however sea is a possibility.
Basically the entire country of hyrule would be dependent on sea trade and would probably need a decent navy which isn't seen at all indicating that a fairly large evacuation could have happened an those people are lost forever at sea or in another country surrounding hyrule. No links to the north or west indicate a possible land in those directions and there is a sea to the south of the gerudo desert.
Written all at once probably come back to clean it up.

I have very little proof for my theory and I don’think it's to convincing but have you noticed that we barely see any Zonai in the cutscenes? We only see Rauru and Mineru. What if the Zonai had fought with kingdoms outside Hyrule? I don’t think this theory will get anywhere but you never know.

On a related topic, I've toyed with the idea that the New Hyrule of Spirit Tracks and the expanded Hyrule of The Adventure of Link to have been timeline counterparts and, otherwise, the same location. Since Link fell in battle against Ganondorf in the Downfall Timeline, the Sages had to seal Ganondorf on their own, hence the villages in the expanded Hyrule being named after them, whereas, in the Adult Timeline, Link was victorious, had a statue of himself in Hyrule Castle, and, rather than villages named after the Sages, we saw the rise of two of their successors. Not a theory in and of itself, but something I've chewed on a few times over the years.

There is some evidence of the Mushroom Kingdom and other lands from other Nintendo games being all in the same world. In Link's Awakening there are several enemies and other NPCs that are basically one for one copies of Mario characters like spinies, goombas, cheep cheeps, piranha plants and shy guys, in one dungeon there are even enemies that look and act like Kirby. So if the Wind Fish is able to dream of all these beings from the Mushroom Kingdom and beyond it is possible he has actually encountered them before and that's where the reference for them to be in his dream came from.

I am honored to be picked for your video! Like honestly, it gave me butterflies!
But you know, I’m surprised no one mentioned this but, the Industrial New Hyrule from Spirit Tracks! I know it would really count, but the land had to have exist in some form before the flood and possibly before Hyrule itself! Going by memory of the Wind Waker ending, I think they headed either south or west. So it could be out there somewhere.
I will also dig further into my previous comments with that: the kingdom north of Death Mountain in Zelda 2 could be the start of a new Hyrule by the survivors of the downfall. Possibly the same rough area as Hytopia, but a different time. Its not out of the realm of possibility that some have fled the Calamity and started a new settlement beyond the borders. Terry kingdom!
Additionally, Zelda 2 features 2 great continents to the east, the eastern border of BOTW you can also see distance land too.
Finally, I know they were on a doomsday time crunch, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the King and Race Leaders hadn’t considered kingdom expansion with the divine beasts.
Vah Naboris could lead settlers across and beyond the desert.
Vah Medoh soar over the northern canyon.
Vah Ruta is able to submerge like a submarine, leading way beyond the sea!
Maybe for future lore, if the Divine Beast still work. Haha.

Do you think Hyrule was once the home of a long, forgotten civilization...The Zonai Tribe?
I've done some research and I noticed some Zonai architectures around in Hyrule. There mostly found in the Faron Region, but you can find some of their relics outside of the Faron Region.
I even noticed that in the first trailer of The Legend of Zelda Botw 2, there was a shot of a carving in a wall that could be depicting Ganondorf himself, riding with his loyal, monstrous horse, wielding his iconic, brutal trident into battle, but I even realised that there other horsemen riding with him. It could be the Gerudo because Ganondorf is the only other Gerudo that has a horse, meaning the females could have joined with him, but when I looked closely on the textures, it had some Zonai patterns, even on Ganondorf also.
It would make sense that the Zonai Tribe found a 'God', but was betrayed and were slaughtered by Ganondorf himself. It would explain the reason why they vanished suddenly thousands of years ago. Perhaps Ganondorf, was a False God.
There is an armour set in Botw called "The Barbarian Set". It raises the wearer's strength to have more power, and when I looked closely, it shocked me. In Botw 2, we see Ganondorf as more of a skeletal mummy with long, flaming red hair. And the Barbarian Helmet is very close connected to Ganondorf's appearance, a humanoid skull, fangs and curved horns, similar to Ganon's Horns, but it even includes long, crimson red hear, very similar to Ganondorf's long red hair. The rest of the set is almost made out of skeletal materials, a lot similar to Ganondorf's appearance as a skeleton.
It's possible that the Zonai crafted this behemoth armour, to look like Ganondorf himself, and to be considered as their God, but were betrayed by the Gerudo King himself, leaving behind their relics forgotten in Hyrule.
I hope this helps you Hyrule Gamer, and keep up your channel! :)

I know koholint is a dream by the wind fish. I think its likely they border and people have said breath of the wild converges the timeliness. So its very likely IMO

I was exploring west Eldin the other day when I noticed something. There is a whole forest of dead trees there. It’s probably the most heavily forested part of Eldin even if the trees are dead. And there are ruins there too. Hylian ruins with the characteristic small stone bricks, arches and small windows, a settlement prosperous enough to be built in stone.
But the ground there is the grey of cooled lava. What was once a pleasant, shady wood with a decent sized stone settlement (possibly surrounded by who knows how many wooden houses) was destroyed by a death mountain lava flow. Macabre really.

I remember in the Zelda 2 comics but out by Valiant Comics forever ago, west outside of Hyrule was a kingdom named Calatia, where Link was originally from. This would have been before almost all the lore was built up, so I doubt it's canon. I always liked it, though.

What if the world around and including Hyrule is similar to Tolkien's world? The Goddesses and Creators being part of the world just secluded in a protected segment, like the cloud barrier but also perhaps on the edges of the land itself. Like in Tolkien's world, the world is flat and the Valar are off in the untouchable West to create order and combat evil in the world. So what if the borders of Hyrule really is all there is to the world? Instead of viewing Hyrule as one kingdom of many races, Hyrule is simply the Kingdom of Men as the dominant force of the continent. Or even what if Hyrule is but one land-locked sandbox experiment for the Goddesses? There might be several iterations of "Hyrule" beyond the borders. Either a LoTR or Matrix twist lol

As for the outer lands of Zelda 2, those are part of Hyrule as well. The area you explore in Zelda 1 is referred to as Lesser Hyrule in Zelda 2 material, and makes up the area at the base of Death Mountain. The rest of the map is Greater Hyrule.
Termina is consistently referred to as a parallel world in most official media, except for the Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia which states it's an artificial land created by Majora's Mask from the memories of Link, Skull Kid, and itself. But the same group that wrote the encyclopedia put that forward as a fan theory decades ago, and there are lots of mistakes in both that book and the Mario Encyclopedia they wrote, so I don't put much weight in it.
I am almost certain that Hytopia, Labrynna, and Holodrum are out there, or at least their ruins. Koholint probably isn't, though, since the Wind Fish's skeleton is in Gerudo Desert. And while I know it's not likely due to being written off as terrible unofficial media at this point, I'd like to think Gamelon, Koridai, and Tolemac could possibly be there.

IF I recall correctly, Niko tells the tale of how Zelda(Tetra) and Link sailed until they found a 'new land' to settle in and establish a new kingdom of Hyrule, whilst the old one remains under the sea (cue music here). Anjean the Lokomo had met Tetra when she first arrived, I think, so that presupposes some kind of civilization that was there before....They have their own lore with the spirits of good and the demon king they sealed under the tower of spirits.....

I can definitely see the Mushroom Kingdom as being in the same universe as Hyrule, especially due to the fact that ever since the first legend of Zelda game in 1986, there have been elements from each game in each other's game. For instance, the same blocks that Mario has to climb in order to jump onto the flagpole in Super Mario Bros are present in every dungeon in LOZ1, 3, and the gameboy games. We've seen some Mario enemies like chain chomps in Zelda dungeons. The Warp Whistle in Mario 3 is ripped right out of LoZ1. Link has even joined in on the Mario Kart fun. Hell, he brought his Master Cycle!

There is a great possibility of the Mushroom Kingdom being on the same planet as Hyrule. Even so much as to be neighbouring kingdoms. Labrynna, Holodrum, and Koholint would most likely be along the borders with the mix of Mario and Zelda enemies. Even if you argue that Koholint was a dream, there's still the fact that the Wind Fish dreamt up the goombas, piranha plants, spinies, boos, etc. Wait... I was going to argue about the wind fish having seen those creatures as it swam the oceans prior to being put to sleep, but now I'm thinking, what if all of Mario's games take place within a dream world? A dream world Link ended upon waking up the wind fish...

The Mushroom Kingdom being in the Zelda universe isn't too farfetched either.
Link's awakening features enemies from Mario like the Bob-omb and Goomba, as well as some novelty jokes that nod toward the little fat plumber, like Tarin being a mushroom hunter and transforming to a Tanuki or Raccoon. While all if the events of Link's Awakening did happen within the dream of the Wind Fish, that doesn't mean it's out the window, because the Wind Fish is still a resident of Hyrule for the most part. What could've made him dream about creatures and entities from an entirely different universe? Answer, they're somewhere in the same universe and the Wind Fish has seen them.
I read somewhere about another speculation that Link's Awakening is not just a dream by the Wind Fish, but a dream that amalgamates everything the Wind Fish has witnessed in its lifetime into one island. Wouldn't be far off either, aside from the heavily influence Mario references, Animal Village reminds me of Animal Crossing as well.(Yes I know Animal Crossing came after the first Link's Awakening, but Animal Crossing probably had its inspiration *from* Link's Awakening.)
There's also the Mario paintings in the Hyrule Castle in Ocarina of Time which also point to the Mushroom Kingdom being a known location to the Hylians. Since that isn't a dream sequence like the events of Link's Awakening, we know for a fact that it's something that has to be canon to the universe. A lot of people just like to say it's Nintendo references but, I'm more inclined to just say it's part of the world somewhere and the Royal Family know about it.

Your guess is as good as mine, but these are definitely disproven:
I'm pretty sure Termina was confirmed to be an alternate world in the "Collector's Edition" for the Gamecube, in the game description of Majora's Mask, which some people seem to not realize. (I'll have to check, I'll quote it when I read it)
Koholint Island is most likely just a figment in a dream.
Lorule, is definitely an alternate Hyrule, along with the Dark World
Edit with the Majora's Mask description: "While it was a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask was clearly a Zelda of a different color, as Link wandered into a three-day journey in a *mysterious parallel world."*
This proves Termina is a parallel world, as stated by Nintendo themselves.

  • @PurpTurt99
    @PurpTurt99 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I mean surely, another thing to consider though is the timeline split from old hyrule, the flooding, and the discovery of the continent that becomes new hyrule. It’s also not consistently defined what hyrule geographically is. It seems to be a continent in some stuff but just a country with land borders in others, and although officially called the kingdom of hyrule, is more like a union of several kingdoms seeing as the zoras, gerudo, and Gorons all have their own kings or are chiefdoms, maybe considered subjects of the king of hyrule but not actually hylians, but that sounds a bit imperialismy. Points to the existence of other tribes, chiefdoms or kingdoms out there that would constitute a country.

To me, the GEOGRAPHY of Termina exists in the far west of Hyrule, but no one settled there. In another timeline, similar to Lorule, Hylians renouced the Triforce, and settled to a place far beyound temptation or knowledge of it existence, creating Termina. So that'd make 3 different worlds, Hyrule, where the Triforce is worshipped, Lorule, where the Triforce was destroyed from desperation, and Termina, where the Triforce and anything godly was abandonned and civilisation started anew beyond the mountains of Hebra and Snowpeak, and the cragged steppe of Ikana.

The rest of the world simply agreeing to have no contact with Hyrule and is neighbouring countries until they sort out their issues. Within the hundred year gap of BotW we already see the Sheikah tribe fracture into two clans, who is to say that other the hundred of thousands of years that large groups of Sheikah haven't gone on to start other nations where they were free of the Triforce and Ganon.

My theory is that Termina is in fact real and exists on the opposite side of the continent from Hyrule.
Obviously Hyrule is on a large land mass so there are different coasts and such, Termina is on the far west coast since the Bay is on the West. What I believe could have happened was that at one point in Hyrule's history, the kingdom decided that it was time to expand its reach and colonize the other coast so that way they have access to even more resources. This can easily explain why we see in the original version of majora's mask we see symbols of the triforce on some surfaces and why the guards have similar armor. And over the long years, without frequent contact with Hyrule as the people used to have, they also changed their religion over time. It isn't uncommon for cities that have sprung up in different parts of the land to have their religion slightly change over time, Hell that's what happened to the Abrahamic Religions. I say this because the people in Termina worship the goddess of time, just like Hyrule, but they do not worship the other 3 goddesses.
One last thing to note about Link teleporting to Termina, let us remember that the Lost Woods also have gateways to Zora's Domain and Goron City even though they are clearly nowhere near the Woods. So who's to say that didn't also happen when Link fell into Termina.

I actually once made a giant map of hyrule based on botw, and combined abunch of differnent lands to it. I had new hyrule, labrynna, and holodrum on their own single continent across the sea. AoL was to the north. unfortunatly, i forgot to include hytopia :(

Termina is short for terminal, like airport terminal. A world that links all other worlds it seems?
Think of the woods in A Nightmare Before Christmas, with all the doors leading to other worlds.

Terminal also means the end of something. It could be referring to Termina's moon coming down

One of the things I'm certain of is other "Ganon"s... like, not literal boar monsters, but demon kings/queens/etc. that were created by Demise's curse... okay, so I'm not fully 100% certain, but still XD
TL;DR for what's below: theory time.
Okay, so, I have this theory about Minish Cap... in the very beginning, when Vaati takes the Picori Sword and opens the chest, a bunch of spirits fly out... and suddenly, there are monsters in Hyrule! (Oh, and, by the way, there were exactly 8 spirits flying out, which is a common number of bosses and dungeons in the series, but there are only 5 dungeons in this specific game.)
My theory is that Demise's curse took *immediate* effect, rather than waiting centuries until OoT, and thus began the Era of Chaos. During that time, the Minish helped the Hylians seal the 8 spirits into the chest and Picori Sword. Thus began the Era of Prosperity.
And how does the Era of Prosperity end, and the Force Era begin? With the Minish Cap. Vaati opens the chest, releases the 8 Curses of Demise, loosing uncountable evils upon Hyrule that were never truly cleansed. How does the Force Era end? With the Hyrule Unification War... and the beginning of OoT. The beginning of Ganondorf.
Vaati released 8 Curses upon Hyrule, of which Ganon was only one. We can guess at other Curses' names, such as Malladus or Bellum. Hell, even Majora might be a Curse, if Termina isn't an AU... but that still leaves at least 4 Curses left unnamed. 4 beings as strong as Ganon, with their own histories and personalities, just as old as Ganon.

Hey HyruleGamer. How is your day going? I found an idea for a short/video. The shrines on top of the dueling peaks. The Shee Vaneer shrine and the Shee Venath shrine. They are both on the dueling peaks. One is on top of one peak and the other one is on top of the other peak. Are the monks of those shrines Brothers?

ARE there any other countries/kingdoms in the Zelda world? And if so, why aren't they *constantly warring with Hyrule* to gain access to that _sweet, sweet, magical wish-granting Triforce treat?_
*-Temina?* Alt reality/dream, depending on who you ask.
    *-Lorule?* Alt reality.
    *-Twilight Realm?* Alt reality.
    *-Koholint Island?* Fishy.
    *-Sacred Realm?* Alt reality.
    *-Silent Realm?* Alt reality.
*-Holodrum and Labrynna?* Again, alt realities *per various wikis.* These may be real lands, but it is entirely debatable as Link is only able to visit these lands via Triforce Teleportation.
*-Ordona Province?* Same reality, but does not have its own power structure, is beholden to Hyrule (gifting the Hyrule royal family the Ordon Sword), and is most likely a part of Hyrule as it's called a "province".
*-Hytopia?* Same reality, but gets assimilated into Hyrule (per the Encyclopedia) despite almost everyone possessing phenomenal magic - just like the varied "kingdoms" around Hyrule shortly before the start of Ocarina of Time.
*-Land of the Spirits of Good?* If there was a country or people still here, Tetra & Link slaughtered/subjugated them all in just a few years, as Castles & Kingdoms takes time to build and Spirit Tracks happens only 100 years after Wind Waker.
_-Mushroom Kingdom?_ Per Mario Odyssey, there does not seem to be a land mass matching Hyrule on that particular planet.
Then there are items like the Cane of Somaria which are said to come from other lands, but these are mostly one-off items that _imply other lands once existed_ but there's no guarantee that they _still do._ Heck, "Somaria" may have been an ancient name for the Eastern Hills before it became part of Hyrule for all anyone knows.
Hyrule is a kingdom that has intentionally stunted/limited its technological development throughout its entire history. Would other peoples in other kingdoms/countries limit themselves the same way for similar reasons...or are they just not organized...or _are they not even out there?_
As an example, in the 100 years after the Calamity in BotW...where are the foreign explorers? The diplomats investigating the sudden silence? The foreign soldiers sent to fill the sudden power vacuum or evidence that they came and left after seeing big-&-ugly over the castle? The foreign danger seekers? The scavengers and thieves out to take whatever they can find? _Any_ evidence of a foreign power looking to claim the Triforce for their own _even with_ big-&-ugly floating around?
Is it possible...that there are no other countries in the world containing Hyrule? Did nearly NO other land develop its own country/kingdom/empire? The Triforce is a *wish-granting MacGuffin capable of re-writing reality* - if it were real every nation on Earth would destroy the world a thousand times over in their attempt to gain it for themselves, with the thought that they can just wish the world NOT a radioactive wasteland once they have it.
Or, as with Hytopia, do other lands have their own power/super-relics/magical-nukes and don't want/need to bother with an all-powerful Triforce? It's not as though Hyrule exists within its own microcosm, as we can see its expansion in Adventure of Link & Spirit Tracks. On the other hand, did other countries once exist but were wished away to protect Hyrule? Is this something that someone in Hyrule's history actually did? Zelda when she was first starting Hyrule post Skyward Sword? Hylia (or a follower of her on her orders as she couldn't use the Triforce herself) in the times before Skyward Sword? Ganondorf after he gained part of the Triforce in Ocarina of Time? The "Triforce using monarchs" as described in the "downfall timeline" after Tri Force Heroes but before the original game?
The last seems the most likely to me if we're going down this rabbit hole, as the Triforce had been hidden away before events in A Link Between Worlds but in Hyrule itself well before events in the first game. Could such a wish, to "topple all other countries" or "peace from foreign invasion", actually topple all countries across the three timelines? How did those monarchs who are listed as using the Triforce in the timeline/Adventure of Link's manual actually use it? We know there are other people out there thanks to Lurelin Village, _but not other organized countries._
On that note, the cannons at Akkala Citadel could exist to battle human invaders and/or monster invaders. Yet it's at such an odd location to intercept an eastern invasion as it cedes a _lot_ of land for it to act as a point of defense, and does nothing as an early warning location of invasion for the residents/monarchy of Central Hyrule. You'd think it would be situated at/near the coast if it were to fight/deter eastern invasion or even sea pirates. It's a military installation at a location that makes little militaristic sense, much like Snowpeak Ruins. These locations do nothing to prove, nor disprove, other countries existing beyond Hyrule's supposed borders. And there does not seem to be similar outposts otherwise in Hyrule in Breath of the Wild for the other cardinal directions, either.
_This is all (mostly - some editing occurred) from a comment I left in another video of a similar subject by Dr Wily - __th-cam.com/video/QX7BgaHtres_/w-d-xo.html

I think Termina is definitely some kind of parallel world, especially after Link Between Worlds. I think Lorule and Termina are in the same place.
I don't really care how they go about the additional lands thing, but I really want Nintendo to include races from previous games that haven't been used much. When the first trailer was revealed I thought it would be cool if the Subrosans made a return. Or the Mogma.
I ultimately just would like to see more subterranean areas in the game as well as the skylands.
