      Amen! I’ve dealt with dizziness off and on for 20 years and no dr ever told me any this. Every test showed I was “normal” which isn’t helpful when symptoms continue. I’ve just watched a couple of Yonit’s videos and feel more informed than I ever have. Now I actually have a plan to deal with my issues. Only found her a month ago but now I have hope that I can stop my attacks.

    I’m so glad I came across you early on in my dizziness journey because I have been implementing all of these strategies for a while and I am now about 80% recovered from my vestibular symptoms. This is a good reminder to try to apply these principles more to my pain symptoms, which seem to be lingering around longer.

    After 3 years of mdds I slowly started not to avoid things that can trigger me - like car, train, plane, swimming (!), even elevators etc etc. It was a hard and a step by step process. I think it is very very hard not to fear them, when they actually (could) make your symptoms worse. BUT sometimes it does not affect my symptoms, so I believe these experiences make it easier not to fear these potential triggers (I hope I described it in a right way cause English is not my mother tongue). So what I wanted to say: even when something did triggered you, don’t stop trying, cause there will be a moment, when it won’t effect your little monster in your head at at all :)

    As a 23 year old professional dancer, neural circuit dizziness has taken over my life for over three months now. I haven’t been able to dance & do my job, habit #3 has been the most difficult part for me. This head dropping sensation is basically the only symptom that has persisted for over the past 3 months, and it’s very frustrating not being able to put a stop to it once and for all. I just want to get my life back😢

    This also applies to chronic pain and ME/CFS, as well as Interstitial Cystitis, IBS, etc. - and also works for them. Little structurally wrong, it's the crocodile brain overreacting. I've gone back to performing, ignoring the anxiety I began having before it after Covid and sitting with it in somatic tracking. I am doing exercises I thought caused "injuries" - AND eating what I thought was "high histamine" when I realized that the itchiness and burning heat increased with stress and repressed feelings, and NOT high-histamine foods. It was a delight to have the first guacamole and humous in ages - and dark chocolate was a revelation after 2 years! Thanks, Dr. Yo!

My lightheaded feelings are markedly improved, yet now I’m flaring rather severely with chronic digestive issues. I realize my brain has just shifted symptoms, now I will check the list you’ve included here, and think psychologically about what’s really going on that I’ve not addressed. What a great video, this probably applies to bunch of other symptoms caused by stress. My personal problem with this approach (with the first habit specifically) is that I don't have much trust in doctors where I live. This always makes me fear that they might've missed something or simply dismissed me because I look young and healthy to them, so there is no need to dig deeper or even properly reassure that I'm fine..

    I’ve had this horrible “illness” for nearly 4 years now 3 of those chronically, I have got better not fully but definitely better, still have daily symptoms but a lot less, the more I think about it the I’m convinced it’s down to stress, trauma, personality type (for me anyway).. this is a excellent piece of advice and although not easy to do wen your symptoms are at the worst it definitely works, I’ve had to force myself to do “normal” stuff bit by bit, there’s things I still don’t do but that will come next.

    Hello Dr Yo.Always a pleasure seeing you.
    I don’t understand one thing though. And this has happened many times. I would be in my routine and will be feeling really good when all of a sudden bam…this onset of symptoms from absolutely no where. I wouldn’t even be doing anything remotely stressful when I start feeling a little off.
    I mean am I missing something?
    I am driving,cycling,running,working everyday. Some days are good and some are not. But the not so good days I really don’t know where the trigger comes from.

    • @TheSteadyCoach
      @TheSteadyCoach  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Vijay, stress has latency and is cumulative. It does not immediately cause symptoms. Internal stress is also not something that you're always going to be consciously aware of.

  • @kaylaberry7983
    @kaylaberry7983 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have started brain Retraining where I don’t avoid as much as I was afraid of but some days the symptoms and new symptoms are so intense and then the next day I’m feeling more like myself. Dizziness was definitely one of my worst symptoms, but I’m moving around easier and noticing the dizziness comes and goes mora and more. Boundaries, self care, and paying attention to my self-critical internal talk has been a huge game changer. Some days I’m overwhelmed by the changes and I have to stay neutral to not freak out my nervous system even more. I do have endocrine issues with no thyroid and my cortisol keeps going up she down but I think this is part of my body finally letting go and trying to find its balance again.

      @@TheSteadyCoach thank you so much! I did want to ask if it is worse to take a day of rest and literally lay around all day? The reason I ask is because I feel like I get deconditioned so easily and like the dizziness is so much worse the next day. I also feel like if I sleep on my back I am more dizzy the next day so I have to be mindful and sleep on my side even though I still wake up on my back.

Please rest assured that this is all a matter of finding a better way- more self care, more support, more self compassion- and it does not need to be perfect. There are life stressors that cannot be avoided, but you can change how they affect you internally. th-cam.com/video/LodqWgKvUvw/w-d-xo.html

    Well.....I've watched a few of your VIDS and this concept is entirely new to me. I say this with GREAT excitement because I've suffered from dizziness for nearly 30 years. My story is way too long to share here, but I 'totally get' your concept about the brain wrongly predicting......I mean it drives me absolutely crazy when I can tell my brain to STFU with its predictions and of course my brain wins and sends me into a spiral, sometimes a violent dizzy puking spiral. Anyhow....I shocked I have not heard of this concept before.....of course no ENT doctor advised me of this concept either. Cheers!

    i wanted to ask if we shouldn't really do vrt as it is only helpful in some cases then what should we do like if we don't have any emotions that are underlying and causing these symptoms/ sensations like is there a step by step guide? ive gotten through half or your free course but am still not sure where to begin because i don't really have any underlying emotions that make me feel this except for the fear and anxiousness of the dizziness itself. also when do we know that vrt is not for us or is helping us?

    • @TheSteadyCoach
      @TheSteadyCoach  ปีที่แล้ว

      The course talks all about emotions in Steps 5 and 6. VRT helps some people but I expect it to help within 6-8 weeks (even if someone is not 100% better) and for someone to make gradual progress. If someone is not getting better in that time, it's probably not the best course of action.

      @@Божидар-з7ф took around 3-4 months after i accepted it, maybe even less (i thought i might never recover). I would say physiotherapy helped the most, pressure point therapy around neck shoulder back helped the most. I was too tensed and stressed for my body to recover. Also stopped caring at one point, so the less you concentrate the faster you recover.

    I have been struggling with vestibular migraine for a year after C shot. I have incorporated Migrane Care by BioCeuticals (my neurologist recommended, it includes high strength magnesium and B vitamins). I did detox with Zeolite and probiotics and healed within a month. Detox and Gut repair made the biggest difference. We all have heavy metals and they interfere with our nerves, creating neurological disorders. Hope this will help someone who lost hope as I did many times.

      Great question. The first 12 weeks of VRT can be super helpful for people, but if they're not getting better and have PPPD/neural circuit dizziness, it can be that the VRT is reinforcing the idea that there is something physically wrong. In general, I don't do VRT with my clients unless they are extremely afraid of movement.

I know we can try and say its just a sensation and not be fearful but in the moment that doesn't really work and actually adds to the stress/anxiousness and makes the symptoms feel more powerful and intense. please help because there have been so many events that i have missed in the past 3 years and regret that because i didn't do anything and now i have events coming up but feel this way

I had minor symptoms like bobbing/swaying and lightheadedness in stores and busy places prior to becoming pregnant, and since being pregnant it’s just about gotten 100 times more intense and more symptoms appear. I also struggled with ETD prior to pregnancy, and believe that’s worse now too. Any advice? Would love your input as all I’ve gotten from doctors I’d use Flonase

      Very much related- danger mode/fight flight leads to tension and changes in blood flow in your head/neck. These are not dangerous, but they can lead to temporary dysfunction in the ventilation system for your middle ear.

    • @charlottec2627
      @charlottec2627 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your eyes being misaligned is a very real thing. It can really help you, if you truly have misaligned eyes. Its all about the signals being sent to your brain. They are all connected

      There is some overlap but a few big differences. 1) the course and all this info on my channel is free 2) we do NOT focus only on positive associations/affirmations. That often sets people up for shame and disappointment when they don't work. 3) There is a much bigger emphasis on emotional work and understanding one's past patterns, stressors and current maladaptive emotional strategies.

    I love this series of videos and am following the free course as well as the workbook. I have been applying the principles I have learned to reduce my level of danger associated with dizziness, and it seems to be helping. Thank you!
    But I have other symptoms from post-concussion, notably with vision as well as cognitive changes. The first advice in this video is to stop relying on conventional medicine's approach to solve dizziness. But now I'm confused. Do I discontinue therapy for the other symptoms too (vision and speech therapy)? Like the dizziness, there is no obvious medical reason for them other than being symptoms originally triggered by concussion (14 months ago). Any general advice from others who have succeeded in using the principles offered here to resolve multiple symptoms would be greatly appreciated.

    • @TheSteadyCoach
      @TheSteadyCoach  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ron! "Neural circuit dizziness" really should be called "neural circuit symptoms" because almost everyone here has visual issues as well as many other bizarre and seemingly disconnected symptoms. I hesitate to give you advice since I am not personally working with you, but if you are not progressing as expected with your therapy, it is time to consider the option that all of these symptoms are neural circuit related. If I were you, I would ask your vision therapist and your speech therapist if they feel that your symptoms are still being caused by the original concussion and if you are making the progress they would have expected from someone who had a concussion.
