After roughly a year of suffering with PPPd and possibly vestibular migraine ( my therapist suggested I might have VM too since I suffer from migraines) it took two months of Dr Yo’s somatic tracking combined with Vestibular Rehab I had in person in London where I live to get my symptoms down by 80-90% ! I’m absolutely grateful for you ! For me these two approaches allowed me to ease into moving ( vestibular rehab ) and let go of the terrifying fear and spiralling down whenever the symptoms became very intense . Somatic tracking help me so much and I’ve suffered 24/7 with literally all possible symptoms including the weirdest trampoline walking and pulsating in my head . Honestly it’s been hell and I’m thrilled with my progress having to gone back to gym and pretty much ‘ normal life ‘ . I’m sure I will br back to 100% soon ! Thank you
Oh man. I hope I can say the same thing later this year! I've had PPPD for over 10 years and couldn't figure out what was wrong. NO doctor ever sent me to an audiologist or neurologist... I switched careers so I could work from home and stay in bed when I'm too dizzy. Such a nightmare. Congrats! This gives me hope. I don't know anyone else with it.
@@suzannemartin6817 Hi, Suzanne. I’d love to make a suggestion for you. I have pppd, but screen issues not so much. I think it’s because of a site I look at often and really enjoy. If you download the free, google earth, and ”travel” on it often, it might desensitize you. Please feel free anytime to ask me specifics. I’ve looked at most countries, going down the streets, looking in buildings etc. When I need to lay down, I tend to look at it. My favorite place is Venice!
You mean issue with a tv or computer? I don’t think so (still trying to figure out triggers-I know for sure lack of sleep and bright sun). Haven’t figured out the less obvious ones. However, I had a horrible time switching to progressive lenses while using the computer.
@@suzannemartin6817 thank you ☺️ Yes absolutely, I was feeling dizzy AF scrolling phone , looking at computer screen and even looking at my blinds in the window .. supermarket was hell and I feel like falling just walking between the isles .. I found that the VDR cancellation exercise helped me most with these symptoms
Ì had a possible brain virus ( never received diagnosis) bùt left with unbalanced ,uncoordinated, wobbly eyed life....30years now) obviously I've had no help....of the medical kind.....but through you a light has come! on!!
I had horrible dizziness after returning from a cruise for about 3 months. I found your information and this changed the course of my symptoms. I told my brain that we were done being dizzy, and after several weeks the symptoms finally subsided. This was not an easy process, but giving myself a consistent and gentle message that I was ok and the dizziness was not ok finally worked. I cannot thank you enough for the help I found in your videos. I am so grateful!! Thank you!!
After dealing with constant dizziness and brain fog for over 14 years, having countless tests and imaging tests done, a million different drs and being told nothing is wrong with me, Mayo Clinic finally diagnosed me 2 years ago with pppd. They prescribed Zoloft but that didn’t work so I’ve been living with it. Started doing some more digging and found your videos, I’m going to start today. This gives me hope while I wait for my VRT to start. THANK YOU!
I couldn't agree more. Once I started somatic tracking it took me a couple weeks until I saw a difference. I'm feeling soooo much better. I still use it probably every other day and find it so helpful. If you haven't done it yet, I urge you all to try it!
Thank you Dr. Yo, I don't know what would had happened with all of us, if you didn't explain to us. Thank you for your work, you save us everyday. Especially all the people who are alone on this, without any support!
Excellent. Somatic tracking was the bedrock of my healing. This was an very useful explanation of your approaches. I still practice tracking regularly for a variety things, even just emotions or somatic stress. Great stuff. Thanks Yo for everything.
Hi, just want to let you know, that your somatic tracking videos work also wonderfull for chronic fatigue/long covid, and fibromyalgia. They help me so much. Thank you so much for your work.
Yonit you are amazing with your understanding of what it’s like to have NCD and your continuing support to help suffers is so inspiring. Bugger to the naysayers I believe you so dedicated to helping us
Thank you, this was really useful. I always separated my physical ailments and mental health issues but now I see the interconnection and how it’s essential to rewire our brain to heal our body. What really helped was learning how to IDENTIFY the emotions that arise - is it fear, is it powerlessness, is it frustration? And then letting those emotions run through you as they arise, and honour them, acknowledging them gently. I’m still feeling symptoms of MdDS 4.5months after a cruise and I was severely depressed for a while because I thought I’d never recover. But now I have hope that I WILL get better one day 😊
Dr. Yonit Arthur, I just want you to know how grateful I am to have found you! Your somatic tracking meditations played such a crucial role in my recovery. I had dizziness for 5 months and it was such a terrible thing to go through. Your videos helped me so much! Thank you thank you!!
You seemed to have come out of nowhere, but I'm sure grateful for your video posts! Finally someone is talking what's really causing my dizziness and what to do about it! Thank you!
I've gotten really good at leaning into the symptoms when I get triggered. Where I'm struggling is when I wake up with my symptoms already off the chart. I've been noticing how anxious I am when I first wake up, whether in morning, during the night and from a nap. So much that it's hard to regulate my breathing to calm down, though other times breathing exercises work well for me. I think I m coming to terms with just how much and how many years anxiety/hypervigilance was "normal" for me.
You could try the cold water skill. It's a DBT skill but it also helps calm the nervous system down. For me it's more intense and therefore more effective when things are really heightened. Just google cold water skill DBT or TIPP skills and you can learn more about it.
Since listening to your videos I have questioned, is my dizziness affecting my balance? Very little. Is it affecting my cognition. No. I am in no danger so when I feel it I have taken the attitude of 'how dare you try to interfere with me . Piss off!' I'm getting better. No more nauseousness. No dizziness at home now and only some in busy public places but this is also improving. I am more curious about it now than fearful and worried. It is what it is and I'm ok. Thank you so much for your help and encouraging others towards their absolute recovery.❤
After going through ups an downs with dizziness in the last 1 1/2 years with a very bad first months and a lot of examinations that found no physical reason, I am glad that I found your channel and found so much accordance in your videos with my problems. I have started the process by myself by just giving a ****, like start running again and fought my way back in a normal life. As a father of 3 I want and have to be active and firm as a rock. Hopefully this is the next step. Of course there are good an bad days now (more good days fortunately) but this helps me deal with bad days. Today I was out for lunch and when going back to my workplace there was this very intense feeling of walking a trampoline or a thick map and I thought "Well, here you are again, but I have to return to work. I know you want to tell me something so I'll keep an eye on having a better posture." Walked back, and worked. Just in this moment I am standing on a balance board in front of a height adjustable desk. I can take my hands of and its no problem to keep my balance. I can brush my teeth with eyes closed standing on one leg for 20 seconds. I don't have problems with my balance, I only have the feeling of loosing balance or dizziness but in fact, the rest of my bode hasn't. Knowing its just a feeling and accepting as such is so crucial, like the mentioned fear of monsters under your bed. The feeling is there, but the monsters aren't. But sometimes, when its bad, you have to look under your bed to be sure and then your feeling fine again. This videos raised my awareness of somatic tracking and it both helps and give a better quality in daily life, thank you.
I feel the same like i feel constantly freezed up , can't hold my balance , i just feel like lying i am not comfortable after getting up How to lift the spirit up when u feel constantly tired , dizzy unsteady imbalanced
I am new to your channel and appreciate you very much. I think I am having a reaction to the senior flu shot over a week ago. Have had vertigo badly at first but still having dizziness and stearing to the right as I walk. An Ent said I have silent migraines but I did not feel comfortable taking the strong meds. Praying this will help. Thank you for your course I’m going through too.
Everything you say is extremely helpful for me. No one else I have been to has any solution . Thank you . I am so grateful for your advice. I wonder if you notice that the room you give you presentations in is very busy with stuff so I can only listen to you. Just a suggestion to consider. Thank you for all the good you do to help us with this condition.
This is excellent and appeared just when I was making a “new years” resolution to commit to daily somatic tracking to help me recover from my dizziness (and other related) symptoms. I’m new at this and have only scratched the surface of somatic tracking, but have grasped how central this is to recovery, so this video is perfect!
Hi Dr YO .I" Naomi Frrom South Africa, i"ve been watching your videos so inspiring and giving hope and healing.I have problem with Balance but Vertogo has decreased and i have fear going outside to walk
I'm so glad you've decided to post this video. I almost gave up on doing somatic tracking because I thought its just doesn't work for me. I made excuses and avoided exercises for some time, feeling like I'm walking in darkness wanting a visual manual for me to follow that will just make me get rid of all the symptoms. I'm easily swayed by the symptoms and its difficult not to pay so much attention to them while having intense emotional distress. Your support and explanations are giving me a friendly push to get back on my feet. The 3rd method is what I'd love to find out more in depth. I have many questions throughout the day since symptoms constantly come up like unannounced attacks at all times. Its so difficult not to focus on them, although I'm aware that I shouldn't.
I’ve found that once you understand the concept it is easy to apply even without using formal guidance like a video or audio recording. And it’s helpful not only with physical symptoms but feelings/reactions to life on a daily basis in general. Thanks for your great work.
Yonit - you really are the best support i have come across and cant thank you enough for all the wonderful information you have supplied , super knowledgeable and a polished clear communicator . Keep up the good work and once again many thanks - i will prevail with your help I am sure of it
Last April when I found Dr Yo, I started somatic tracking. Its a game changer. Combined with body scans, you will definitely be on the road to recovery.❤
You WILL prevail, Stewart. This is so extremely kind of you, I am very grateful for your support. I will keep you in mind and make sure I keep trying to organize my thoughts in a way that helps you move forward with your recovery!
Yes! This is the way for me! After 3 years, finally on the right track. Read the book The way out from Alan Gordon. Iam already getting so much better in 2 weeks. And now here more explained in this video by you. Super. You are great for doing this ❤
Dr. Yo, I am financially dependent on my mom, after my two brain surgeries and now have heightened pppd. She has recently said that I have to write her monthly progress reports on my healing. (To somehow speed it up!) This is extremely not helpful, as I told her it just puts added pressure on me. Stress and lack of sleep make me feel so much worse. I told her this and she said that she doesn’t care. Would you be ok with sharing with me why being non judgmental and not forceful is the only way to recover? She doesn’t understand how stress and a heightened nervous system will only keep me in this dizzy loop. Maybe hearing it from you might get her to see the light? I feel trapped, Dr. Yo. All I want, is to feel better, but this is my recovery, not hers, and it takes time. I’ve had pppd for years. Having her hear from a professional would carry more weight, than me, to her. Can you please help, with a short paragraph? Thank you.
Great info as always! Quick question: what kind of somatic tracking do you recommend when I experience dizziness mostly in the stores while I’m walking. Thank you!
Hello Dr. Yonit, I’m not sure if I have just pppd or a combined disorder. I’m taking beta blockers since 2020-first Inderal (propranolol) and now since 2 weeks Concor (Bisoprolol), which also might cause dizziness, even though the medicians never ever mentioned this as a possible cause! I think it’s a shame. They say they just don’t know where it comes from 😠 i presume I might have a combination of both issues though. Do you think the approach with the somatic tracking would be adequate for me too?? Thanx in advance!
They gave me blood pressure calcium channel blocker...I wonder too if it makes me worse. Was having random bp spikes...same time dealing with scarey dizzy stuff. Which came first chicken or the egg I feel. Have to keep bp at a good level so feel Catch22. Gonna try somatic tracking anyway!
I been having strange balance dizziness and pressure on left side with ear pain and pressure on one side for three months, I was scared thought I was dying, they did check ups and scans and ruled out any life threatening condition and told me it's vertigo and might be bppv, I tried doing manouvers for it like epley and sumersaut but didn't work and said I might feel room spinning when do it but it actually makes me feel better and knew right away it's not bppv because when I stand, room doesn't spin, instead it's unsteady off balance feeling and back of head spins feels like I'm gonna fall, I suffer from health anxiety when I have scary symptom and google up my symptoms and that gives me panic attacks and makes symptoms worse, it feels so scary because head spins and feels like being pulled to the left side, it affected everyday life that I can't get out of my house because the panic attacks feelings that I might fall with any little standing or walking movements I make, and it causes that it's so debilitating that this causes depression, but when I ride a bike or a fast moving motion or being in a car, I don't feel the dizziness or off balance, but when stop riding bike or car stops, the dizziness starts up again and when standing still I will fall because of the off balance and unsteadyness down , I can literally fall because feel the pressure in my head and I'm rocking and can't control balance, what could it be because always think I'm dying everyday😥😢😢
You are not alone. Others like me with daily stuff. I just keep going day by day. Dr. Yonit is trying to help us step away from this...be kind to yourself. I try small challenges daily. Take good care of you!❤
@jameneye2121 I have some of the EXACT same symptoms as you! Feeling pulled to the left. Hard to sit of straight because of feels like something on the right side of me is pushing me left. Better when driving, but horrible at traffic lights or traffic. If my car stops in an area where I feel there is no “escape” such as being blocked by other cars around me or with high walls on the said of me I get dizzy and panic. New one for me is stopping the car at a light on a slant/hill. I am just starting this journey with Dr Yo a vestibular therapists and CBT therapy. I am optimistic that we can heal.
Hi I have bppv and possible vestibular migraine or pppd for over a year. I seem to be triggered often when in the shower. I think I’m sensitive to the water hitting me. Do you have any tips for this and is it common to be triggered by the shower? I get really anxious now about it. Thanks Louise x
Thank you Dr. Y for this video. I do somatic tracking since 1 month, however I feel that I am not progressing as my dizziness is so strong every day I have to work in the open space office or take the public transport with loads of movement and noise for getting to work. My only thought then is an existential one („if I don‘t get away with the dizziness I will lose my job as I cannot perform it 100% for the dizzy feeling and the concentration problems at work“). So how can I convince my poor brain and nervous system not to overrate the dizziness feeling if it is connected with job loss threat? Please advise. Thank you
First of all thank you for what you do for us dizzy people!! Wanted to ask if you think that trying to live your normal life like going to work, going out with friends , running errands etc… can help with recovery? Of course applying everything you teach us. I feel like maybe a combination of these things would be useful. I’m trying to live life as normally, but worry that living my normal life might affect my recovery. I have really good days and then get discouraged with a bad day, it’s so confusing.
Absolutely yes!! Huge part of recovery! The dizziness sucks but it can’t hurt you. Live your life as fully as you can, and be kind to yourself and don’t blame yourself when you have bad days. It’s normal.
Question. So usually one particular symptom sends me straight into a panic attack. Today (I've been practicing these methods for a week or so now) I used some of my new tools when the sensation hit. I didn't fly into a panic and retreat 🎉 but I did notice that I had a very blank and off feeling that lasted a while. Not sure if it was lingering doubt or anxiety. Maybe some dissociation. Idk. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
I live in the uk and my major trigger at the moment seems to be changes in pressure. I can go from feeling ok to feeling like my head is in a vice within an hour….I practise somatic tracking, take meds and supplements but this element seems to be sticking my recovery…..any advice as to how/if this can be overcome?? Loving the new podcast too! ❤️
Has anyone in the recovery process begun to MISS an easier symptom? This happened to me. I started to mildly like the symptom of feeling as if I was on top of a wheel that I couldn’t get off of. I started to see it was pretty safe and even easy to deal with, or use to my advantage. So… my brain took it away 😅 Now it’s found new ways to scare me.
Can this help with nervous system disregulation causing many symptoms not just dizziness. Unavoidable past and present chronic stress making it so much worse and feel hopeless and like it went too far but trying not to be like that. I’d love to talk to you
I am not a neck specialist so I can’t speak to your specific case but many people I’ve worked with with the same diagnosis did not actually have symptoms from the instability despite having it, they turned out to be neural circuit issues.
Dr. Yonit, I experience symptoms while being and walking outside (not so much while sitting in my own home). Would it be most effective for me to do your somatic tracking exercises while walking outside then? I definitely developed a fear of going out and I'm hoping to finally break the avoidance cycle you mentioned in this video.
I think she actually has a somatic walking video up. I could be mistaken, but I think I've used it myself because I like to walk, but I'm always nervous I'll get dizzy.
Hi Doctor . I was diagnosed with unilateral hypofunction 4 months back . My symptoms are pretty much the same . Vrt hasn’t helped much yet , doing it for last 2 months . Could this be pppd because I doubt it as my symptoms are pretty much the same .
I'm watching this video as part of the free course and this is not my first time watching it, but I feel like I still don't understand somatic tracking, and unfortunately that frustrates me to the point of my symptoms getting worse. I just don't understand how to do it. Can anyone help me?
Consider checking out Jim Prussack and Tanner Murtagh, both on TH-cam. You can also try the Curable app (6 weeks free with code curable.com/thesteadycoach). All of them have different ways of explaining it that might help.
You actually see people heal from this? Not just manage but heal? I have long COVID and I’m thinking it is viral damage not neural circuitry? Could you do a video on this?
Hi Erin, yes, please feel free to listen to some of the success stories on my page and you can hear that they do heal. You may be interested in this particular success story th-cam.com/video/EDCTmQQhRI8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Yv808Xy4Z5xA5npn

Then I have an episode, just listening your voice resolve the fear and give me a hope that it will pass!
It's interesting how similar this is to meditation and how we approach painful or unpleasant sensations or feelings in meditation practice.
Hi, I guess I can apply this also for Long covid related symptoms, I also feel dizzy all the time and some other neurological issues.
Invaluable information!
So informative. Such great advice!
Thank you, again:)
Thank u so much 3rd somatic tracking is really good, thank I doctor ❤️ 😊
Hey Dr. Yo! Was wondering if you can make a list of a lot of the books you suggest to read !!
Excellent explanation. 👌
Thank you very much
Thank you.
I am sorry you are going through this Jeanne. You may consider sharing this video with her th-cam.com/video/9aRdJw2DXNI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=XpX8Nt5Wq9q91N2h
@@deb2531 Yes have had all of the same symptoms. Keeping hope to heal soon. Dr Yo is the way to go!
You may find answers to your questions in this video th-cam.com/video/StYWlDFkFjM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fOxCUSR5qymmsipL
The barometric pressure is bad for me too! Big trigger.
Hello, i have a question do i start with somatic tracking number one? Or any one? And how often to do daily?
Can this help with nervous system disregulation causing many symptoms not just dizziness. Unavoidable past and present chronic stress making it so much worse and feel hopeless and like it went too far but trying not to be like that. I’d love to talk to you
How does nystagmis figure into all this? My jumpy eyes make me off balance and dizzy.
What about with physical problems? I have atlantoaxial instability that causes the dizziness. Will somatic tracking still help?
Is this just relaxing into whatever you're feeling and not trying to get rid of it
Hi Doctor . I was diagnosed with unilateral hypofunction 4 months back . My symptoms are pretty much the same . Vrt hasn’t helped much yet , doing it for last 2 months . Could this be pppd because I doubt it as my symptoms are pretty much the same .
Is there any way to work with you? Are you taking patients?I’ve done a lot throughout 18 months. I’m also in FL.
Please my website for more information on how to work with me and my services thesteadycoach.com/
All of them have different ways of explaining it that might help.
every time I get vertigo, or the falling sensation I always grab on to something or someone
