I bought the Signia three weeks ago and feel that I made the right decision. I looked at the RX and they wanted nine thousand dollars over MSRP and I bought the Signia for three thousand under MSRP. Lexus had cars in stock and I waited five months for the Signia because I wanted the bronze color with saddle interior with limited trim. During the five month wait the market slowed down and inventory piled up not to mention I bought towards the end of December which seems like the best time to buy.
You giving the RX a point for having a larger screen seems absolutely stupid considering the RX has the climate controls at the bottom and the useable screen size is essentially identical.
Positioning the climate controls at the bottom of the center console is annoying and unsafe. Perhaps you are supposed to use the voice activated controls if the car is equipped with that. But shouting at the car and expecting it to do what you want is just a little weird to me.
Lexus is on another level in terms of materials and services. I’d rather opt for a Lexus if it’s my personal ride. I currently drive a Toyota because it’s a hauler and reliable zero issue after 4 years and 106K miles but runs like brand new off dealer’s lot.
I would lean toward the Crown Signia. My bias is based on a love for wagons, including my current 2012 TSX Wagon which is an excellent daily driver featuring the K24z3....one of the best four-bangers Honda ever made. That said, either of these Toyotas would make for a satisfying and reliable next step. Great comparative review!
Very good comparison, good job. The sitting position for Signia seems lower than RX, like a Wagon as you said. If you adjust in higher position, my head will touch to the top. If it adjusts to the lower position, the vision is not as goog as RX. its my concern.
I'm sticking with our Venza Limited Hybrid. It has things that the Signia and RX don't have or you have to pay extra for. And we're averaging 40 mpg after 3 years. Seats are comfortable, the ride is nice and quiet. Just wish we could have got a tan interior with the Blueprint blue exterior.

As soon as my wife’s Outback wears out we’ll be replacing it with the Crown Signia AWD. Why not have Lexus quality at a Toyota price? I know that I’ll be driving my 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs until I die and I’m quite sure that my wife will still be using it to plow the 5-7 feet of snow every winter off our private road and our driveway until she too passes away.
Thanks for the comparison!! Honestly was excited when the Signia arrived as I currently have an Outback and was possibly thinking an upgrade to the Rx hybrid would be a consideration for the next. However, the Signia has no spare...that is my drawback.
the RX has decent ground clearance unlike the signia and weight about 250 lbs more. I think it's more important to tell these differences than a bigger screen or heated seats, like a lot of folks in youtube say in the comments.
I feel the crown insignia is same Mazda cx-50 . The Japanese auto makers sharing tech and platforms . That's the reason Subaru and Mazda are launching hybrids
The Crown is more the hybrid outback thay people have wanted forever so I see it catching a whole new category of buyers compared to another model year of RX
I guess it’s also worth noting that from the factory, the RX does have tinted windows for the rear passengers, which the Crown Signia doesn’t even despite it being a wagon. That may not matter to a lot of people but the Subaru Outback also is considered a wagon even though it’s not really marketed as one, it has tints from the factory as well and I’m sure that’s a main competitor to the signia.
I bought the Signia Limited and love my tan leather and the JBL sound system but I’m sure I would have loved the Mark Levinson sound system more but Toyota dealers where I live offer new tires for lifeof the car if you buy the extended warranty on the car so I couldn’t pass that up. I’d have to disagree with the statement that Drew said, the Toyota has more physical climate controls than the Lexus, not sure how that was mistaken. The Lexus had basically all the adjustments besides the temperature as haptic buttons at the base of the screen, the Toyotas is actual buttons that are not part of the screen.
As far as I see it, not a fair comparison: For example, you would not compare Audi and VW, although both are from the same company. Lexus is a luxury vehicle and Toyota is not. Despite that Crown Signia is above regular Toyota and is very nice, it is still does not have a plushness of Lexus. Also, I believe that price is major decisive factor here. $10K delta is 20% of Crown Signia MSRP and is huge difference for price-conscious customer. And Lexus customers typically do not cross-shop between Lexus and Toyota.
You’d be surprised, considering how some of the Toyota vehicles come close to Lexus standards. And I do think that Audi is the luxury version of VW just like Lexus is the luxury version of Toyota.

It’s a nice feature to have
The crown is 95% interior of the Lexus, your paying for the name, Also Lexus pricing starts you off with Nulux fake leather, you can get real leather on the Toyota but it will still be a little less than the Lexus, it’s not really worth it just you saying you got a Lexus, them jokers Toyota created that luxury brand 😅
I would get the lexus and negotiated it down to the crown price.

Ha Ha Ha Ha
Toyota for me. Money is not an object..when it comes to food...but not cars. And driving around L.A with big possibility of getting scratch or dent, luxury car is pointless to me.
Wrong.
Neither of them in general 😂
exactly, buy the new k5
@ you mean Sorento or Santa Fe hybrid
@@naveenthemachine no n!gha the k5 😡
@@basedondennis the k5 base engine is no longer turbo which is a nice improvement
@@naveenthemachine exaaactly, yall toyota owners are prolly on yo knees crying wishin yall had a better car 😭😭
CVT? No thanks.
it’s honestly not that bad
Sorry for not knowing. What about CVT?
@@robertohernandez-carrion3862 its a really unreliable transmission that doesnt even shift gears. Mostly found on japanese and korean cars.
@@maddaxsaya.3477 trust me its bad
@@speechless647 i have a lexus hybrid with the cvt, never had issues, just kept up with fluid changes, only thing that would bother is not hearing gear shifts but not bad at all
I don't understand Toyota's current philosophy it makes no sense undercutting your luxury brand. What's the point of having a Lexus if you can get a Crown??? They've done this with the Sequoia and Land Cruiser.
The point is options. Their giving people options. Remember only 15000 Signias are even expected to be sold. Let the people decide what they want.
@@J_Starr007 the Land Cruiser has a dreadful interior and the sequoia and tundra have really bad fit finish and materials even on their expensive trim levels
I drove these vehicles last month.
The signia was awful inside. Tight. Poor views out the windows. Felt hard to see over the hood.
It was the same price as the new 2024 rx350h I test drove. The rx350h is way better. Smoother. Quieter. More room.
But for the money - I’m going for a 2025 grand highlander nightshade.
@ get a telluride instead. Much nicer just as roomy and more comfortable too and you have a v6
@@americandude3825 I disagree. I test drove both as well. CS has ample space inside, is actually more luxurious than the Lexus (they use genuine leather for starters), it handles better and imo looks way better, and costs less. Plus cheaper to insure and I can use unleaded fuel.
Test drove them both. Signia sucks compared to rav4 XSE and neither compare to rx350h as far as comfort and quietness/smoothness.
RAV4 has more head room and higher cargo room. Not as quiet.
I would not consider the signia AT ALL after driving one.
The Rav has 2 cu ft more space or 5% but the signa has more floor area and can hold a 6-1/2' item laying flat
I have driven both to and I own the Signia a far superior car and I got 4K off it and no way will you get that off the Rav
@ mos I could get off a rav4 XSE is about $2000 from my salesman who does fleet sales and is the third highest salesman for Toyota in the U.S.
