In the age of Amazon delivery, being able to go somewhere to get you hands on something and see if you REALLY like it (ESPECIALLY when youre building a computer that will last 5 years'ish), this is just an indispensable opportunity.

I've only been to Micro Center once when I was in Chicago on holiday, it made me super jealous because there's pretty much nothing like that at all near me in Australia.
Nothing like that near 90% of us in the US either. Lived in South Florida for first 36 years of my life and that was a 12+ hour drive from one. Now I'm in Alabama and it's still a 4 hour drive so I've never been. If they had cards at retail price I'd probably make the trip. For now my i9-10850k is gpu-less and looks like it'll be that way for awhile.

It’s so refreshing to see a tech store use their tech to make an unmatched shopping experience, everything I imagined when I was little that we could do with tech in stores is just…a reality here. I wish I wasn’t so far from a MicroCenter
As someone who has one MicroCenter within 20 minutes of where I live and another about 45 minutes in another direction, I can confirm that having all those GPUs in stock, and ESPECIALLY at or near MSRP is a huge fluke that Jay got ridiculously lucky with. These things just aren't there for most stores. I don't know if MC held stock specifically for the GRO of this location or put them in there since they knew Jay would be filming this or what, but this is not representative of most stores. By a huge longshot.
He was in the store before the re-opening according to one of his tweets. Doesn't seem like he had filmed yet, but given nobody else was visible in this video that's entirely possible. My guess is they held stock for the reopening and he filmed before any was able to be purchased.
100000% agreed. I had been to my local Microcenter here in Denver 5 times looking for a GPU. Every single time all they had were server GPU's, or $1600 6900 XT's or 3080ti's
Brings back memories of the Sears tools section back in the late '60's - early -'70's. I remember going there as a teenager and drooling at any and every tool a kid could ever want or need to work on their muscle car.
As someone who is new to the pc building world, I had no idea how lucky I was to have this exact location within an hour drive. I assumed a store this popular would be widely available.
The fact they didn't have a billion locations is likely why they survived the online shopping purge of brick and mortar stores. CompUsa, Fry's, Circuit City all gone. Microcenter persisted and even with less overall demand for brick and mortar, the demand that was left went to microcenter. Even some of the primarily online shops bit the dust like Tiger Direct. I have two Microcenters within a reasonable distance from me. One 20 mins away and one 45 mins away, lol. At one time I had Microcenter, CompUSA, Fry's and a Tiger Direct Warehouse store all within a 20min drive.
Jay: "I see every GPU SKU in stock!" Jay, five minutes before: "The store hasn't actually opened yet." Hmmm... There's just something here... I can't quite put my finger on it...
@@ricardogaona2146 come back and let us know what is real. Also I agree it is suspect because the whole video was nothing but a long ad in which I still love this kind of content as long as it's honest.
The editing is impressive, all the effort to edit in the GPUs on the empty shelves must have taking a long time. Wait... what do you mean it wasn't edited.
One of the best things about Micro Center is the guys in the build your own section. They generally know what they're talking about and know what goes with what. A completely different experience than what you used to get with Fry's.
same. especially for those MSRP graphics cards. I wish I could get a 3060 Ti. anywhere under a 1000 euros ffs. it's insane how opportunistic every single store is. it's pretty much a miracle that in MicroCenter they aren't selling them for double the MSRP.
Knew that would happen. Was there a couple weeks ago and didn't see half much of what's in this video. They probably air-freighted what they needed for the grand re-opening. But the place is always mobbed, let alone this time I'm of year. I went there in June for one thing and it turned out to be the nvidia release day for the 3000 series. Must have been over 500 people in the parking lot.
@@GMO5 I left work at about noon yesterday. They had a shipment of over 40 Asus 3090 white edition come in early Friday morning. I was able to get one. They also had a bunch of GIGABYTE 3080s left over.

Bruh, seeing Jay have a 3080 in his cart instead of having an associate bring it to the front for him was the most unbelievable thing about this video.
@@FunKaYxxD1sCOYep. The one a few hours from me is putting them about 250% over MSRP. Even checking online micro centers everywhere are scalping. This video seems like an advertisement
In Austin Evans is the same, but they are sponsored by the store as well, were everything looks neat and easy. As it seeks the employees open those windows before shooting (speculation)
I really wish something like this was available here in the UK. As much as I like being able to order next day i'd love to go into a store that's competitive on prices and actually see the productions in-person.
1 hour? aren't you sure people will not just camp in front of the store before opening and just raid 1 min after opening, leaving everything empty 15 min after opening? xD
Thank you for re inspiring my interest in technology. I was cooking before the pandemic but got layed off and didn't know what to do, I built a new pc and took up freelance work fixing and upgrading friends computers. Just recently I landed a job as an A+ technician at microcenter in denver while studying for my compTIA A+ certification. You and several other youtubers really reignited a passion I had forgotten about since high school. Just wanted to say thanks.
Awesome story! Have any 3080s or TIs in stock? I might try to make it down tomorrow at some point. Do they sell out every day or what’s the word? Thank you so much!! Might have you build me a PC!🍻🍻
Problem is that you can't buy everything online according to reviews: headphones? Once I wanted noise cancelling ones decided to buy Bose QC35. Ended with Sennheiser PX550 cause Bose caused weird feeling like pressure on ears and being underwater which was extremelly unfortable. Other time I wanted good enough headphones. Was decided to buy ATH40 something, ended with Grado cause they offered more clear sound. Similar story with keyboards or chair. But today nothing is on the display in PC shops. Well ... except a few phones maybe. And headphone shop did not survive covid.
Yeah is so sad that Germany doesn't really has such awesome shops about computers. We had a much smaller one called "Zur 48", was my favorite shop of all but sadly got closed many years ago 😭
I was in PC Heaven the day JayzTwoCents was there! Shaking Jays hand and meeting the crew was really a dream come true. I want the comment section to know that Micro Center is awesome but Jay, Phil, Nic, AJ, and the PC community are even cooler. Thanks for being so kind and approachable, guys!
I have one just 5 minutes from my house and my dad used to take me there when I was a kid many many times. I'd spend a whole hour as a kid going up and down the game aisle looking at all the covers and reading the backs of the boxes and everything. My dad would do the same thing just all over the rest of the store haha. Good times. It was the best and it's still fun to this day for me LOL
When you come like every week and you reread the back of boxes that you've read before and then just holding on to the boxes for no real reason while reading something else that caught your eye.
I grew up with a Microcenter 15 minutes from me, it wasn't until I got older that I found out just how lucky I was as a kid growing up in STEM classes to have such a store THAT close
I was there yesterday around 2 p.m. through an insider tip. I was able to pick up a 30 series for my brother. Last year I was lucky enough to pick up a 3090 🦄. I love this store it truly is heaven.
The prices are fair and even cheaper compared to most other places at least in my opinion. The website does update however it lags behind keeping up with actual inventory coming in and out because as they put them on the shelves they fly out the shelves. I literally watched inventory disappear in a matter of 10 minutes. For the lower tier cards of course, they still had quite a few 3090s and quite a bit of AMD.
I grew up 5 minutes from this microcenter so I thought it was no big deal that we had them - but apparently it's the only one in SoCal! Super excited to go in and see the new layout this weekend!
Not all microcenter's are created equal. The one about 45 minutes from me is the only one within a hundred miles and the best nvidia GPU it had a 1660 Super for just under $500
I lived near this one for 5 years and it's the reason I got into PCs. I would have never gotten into it if I never went there and looked around and what you can do with a custom PC
Never had a problem finding an associate at Micro Center, They are literally every where and I have been shopping at MC since they opened their first store in Columbus, OH. years and years ago.
Same, Cincinnati MC when it’s not a weekend, there’s always like 6-8 just standing around. On weekends it’s insane packed and that’s when it’s hard to get someone cause they’re all busy as hell.
I have fond memories of when MicroCenter and I were first getting into 3D Printing- -Small selection in the back corner by the bathrooms. -More selection taking over the entire back corner. -A little more selection moved up to one section of the printer ink and toner aisle. -More selection and two sections of the ink and toner aisle. -The trip when someone realized it was getting big enough to need organization and... ... walking down the aisle felt like walking down a rainbow. -It was obvious there were a lot of printers running when filament took over a full half of the ink and toner aisle. Then I moved and now MicroCenter is about two hours away instead of just 20 minutes :(

I was so surprised at what they did with the store man it was insane it felt like it went from a giant closet hub to tech warehouse heaven. i was almost trying to figure out if they defied physics because even if you were at the old store and you just imagined the walls being torn down you still wouldn't imagine it to be this big or anything like what we see now lol.
Well, you wouldn't want the rain to get your new motherboard wet as you walk to your car in the parking lot. Micro Center seems to have thought of everything.
This place is truly a dream. I was there two weeks ago after a 3 hour drive. They were the closest place I could find that had 120mm x 15mm fans for my radiator. Ended up walking out with two Noctua 15mm fans, an argb controller, and my new fave keyboard ASUS ROG Strix Flare (Cherry MX Red) and it was actually on sale! The customer service is top notch too.
I am absolutely jealous of that Micro Center. I was at my local place the other day and the GPU shelves were basically clear. I'd have had to get a $2000 AMD or a $2000 Nvidia if I was getting a GPU there.
Love how they overstocked this store knowing this video was being made. I can tell you NEITHER micro center in my area has nearly as much gpu stock. Not even before the shortages.
indeed, this video made me doublecheck my local (st davids) store. They still have next to nothing at least as far as gpu's, and what they have is massively overpriced (and i do mean massively-how is that even legal btw?).
@@Iamzee1_ @Sniper Tank alright, I'll head up there this weekend and see in person. But I've been there a couple times in the last few months and all they had were very low end (730s, 1030s) or amd cards for two or three times MSRP (which again, I don't get how that's legal. Isn't it illegal for a store to basically scalp products? I have a friend who's into sneakers and there are stores that got in big trouble for doing that with sneaks)
I live 5 minutes away from the one in NJ. they never have cards in and when they do they're gone that same morning in 2 seconds. every time you see a youtuber show gpu stock in a microcenter it's because they invited them right after they got a shipment and the store is closed. you will never ever walk into any microcenter during the day and find stock for current gpu's. Except maybe ridiculously overpriced 6900XT's or something like that but even then they don't last more then a day or 2.

I minutes away from a Micro Center for the first 17 years of my life, and my cousin in a neighboring state also lived near one, so I always thought it was a normal thing to have near you. Didn't realize how lucky we were until people started sharing those memes where it showed the "Build Your Own PC" sign and didn't realize it was a real place.

I've always been very surprised there isn't one in Seattle with how tech-centric WA state is. Congrats to the people who are lucky enough to have one nearby. I wonder if any of those GPUs are left at this time.
I hope that Microcenter sooner than later spreads out to have a store somewhere central in the Netherlands. Even if it's only one I would go there 100% of the time I wanted something tech.
Really don’t think they’ll expand to Europe (or even outside of the U.S. - maybe Canada if lucky as it’s a neighboring country). They only have like 20 stores in the U.S., which is not a lot. Like at all. Looks like they aren’t even expanding in the states
Glad to see Micro Center getting some recognition! A month ago I did a new PC build and bought 100 percent of the parts from the Dallas, TX Micro Center. Sure, I could have saved a little buying the parts online but preferred to buy local for both convenience (in case of return/exchange) and also to support Micro Center. The Micro Center staff were exceptionally friendly and showed a genuine interest in my project and offering advice.
Last time I went to MicroCenter in Dallas the store looked trashed, everything looked like it was thrown around which was disappointing, but at least it had the Monitor I was looking for
Well, they would have "more recognition" if they had more stores. They would completely destroy Best Buy and their slim pickings here in TN. And other than BB, there is literally nothing but a few private companies that mostly do business to business computer contracting or pre-build sales around the colleges, not PC builds for individuals. TN borders 8 states and is the major transport hub for the east and west coast, and 3 of the border states have Microcenters, but not within reasonable driving distance.
I just made the hour n a half drive today to this Micro Center after seeing this video yesterday. I arrived and waited in line for them to open and there were no 3000 series GPUs. My heart is broken...
I honestly needed this video. It helped me out a lot because I’m driving 6 hours to the micro center in Dallas, Texas next weekend. This video gives me so much more excitement for my build.
There's no way they have gpus in stock, I go to the Tustin store almost every other week and the gpu shelves are always completely empty except for 6900xts and 6700xts both at very inflated prices
Just visited this MicroCenter after seeing your video Jayz. One word. "Wow". As you said, the store was packed with inventory at great prices. My son and I drove a long way to get there, but it was worth it. Thanks for making us aware of PC Heaven. My son loves that PC Build. That will be a PC Heaven for some lucky winner. Keep doing what do.
So Jay I gotta say, I went to my very first Micro Center because of this video and it just happens to be the same one in Tustin, unfortunately it wasn't PC Heaven for me because I went on Black Friday. It was hell, but silver lining is I won the raffle to buy a GPU and I got myself a 3060 ti. So thanks for making this video, I wish I got time to enjoy the store more but with the crowds it was impossible lol I've got my PSU and GPU now so I'm well on my way to building my first PC with the parts that I pick myself.
@@Jay-wm5cf I was at mine all night from Thursday night until Friday morning, it wasn't until early in the morning that the staff announced that it would be a raffle 300 30 series GPUs. That's why suddenly there were thousands of people once the news spread. I just lucked out.
Best time to go to Microcenter is on a non-holiday weekday morning (preferably Tuesday/Wednesday). Which unfortunately is hard for me because I'd have to take paid time off from my job and leave my house at like 4am to get to the nearest store when it opens. 😄
I'd love to have a Microcenter, or even a decent computer parts store in the Seattle area. That there is so much of that industry in this area, and we have zero stores is ridiculous.
I have one north of me in Dallas and one south of me near Houston both about 1n half from me. Seem to me you should buy some real-estate and open a computer store like micro center but small scale
I just went to the Micro Center in Denver for the 1st time yesterday. It was incredible. It is about an hour from me, but they do price matching and I would rather buy local than Amazon. If they have it, I will get it from them. I spent a couple of hours there and I usually hate shopping in stores.
A really great point on supporting local tech over Amazon, when a local option exists. I'm close to the Tustin store and love going there to browse, though I haven't seen the remodel yet. Sooon! 🍺😁
I was shocked when I saw you there! I finished watching one of your videos and headed to Micro Center and there you were! So awesome to see you in person *although I was to afraid to speak to you* Thank you for the amazing content!
Micro Center was one of the first things I became aware of when I moved to Kansas City back in 2000. It already had legendary status, but I had never heard of it. Twenty years later, it's my favorite store to visit, and only fifteen minutes away. :D
I've been wishing I had a Microcenter near me for like 10 years (Google said the closet one is 3.5 hours away in NY). Turns out there is one about 45 minutes away, just went for the first time (twice in 2 days) and so far it's been awesome.
Thanks to the Denver store having RX6600s in stock last month I was finally able to get out of GPU hell. Granted it was a 5 hour drive, but it was well worth it. An RX6600 was a huge step above what I was using, a 7850. I would recommend Micro Center to anyone within decent drive from one. It truly is PC heaven.
I snagged my 6700xt on a random Saturday trip up from the Springs a month or so ago. Wasn't even planning on a GPU that day, went in for a new board/cpu.
I was in the exact store Jay filmed in about 9 hours ago.....it was garbage, couldn't find anything with aisles mislabeled....layout sucks, employees were rude. Doesn't make me want to go back.
went to microcenter randomly that morning not knowing it was a grand re-opening and happen to see ya at the end of your recording LOL. Couldn't believe how much stuff they had in stock.
I keep hearing about Micro Center, but never been to one. I looked at their locations, and they have one in Cincinnati, about two hours away from me. I have an old pre-built with a nice case I want to rebuild,so I think I will be making a trip up there soon.
I live near the Micro Center outside of Philadelphia, they are currently doing a pretty significant expansion as well. Maybe not quite to this scale but I can't wait to see the end result still!
That's awesome, last time I was there they were in the middle of tearing up everything, it was just a couple months ago, I had no idea they were taking the rebuild this far, hopefully their custom water cooling section is bigger, it was very weak before, I could spend all day browsing around that place
it's crazy that this is being appreciated when back in the day you had to go to the store to get anything 😂 but now a day most store's don't have anything you need, and the employee's recommend you to order it online 😂
I've been to both microcenters in Maryland in the last couple weeks and they don't have GPU stock or prices anywhere near that good. Don't expect Jayz experience to be replicated elsewhere.
That's because they literally diverted the stock from other stores to that one so it would be fully stocked for their GRAND REOPENING! That and that one store has more stock than any of the others.
Just bullshit AMD cards if they do mostly. But i got lucky 2 diff occsions in Parkville got a 3070 once and 3090 another time. And I drove 2 hours to do it. But thats 2 outta 9 times and I got there around 5am. Love the new GPU policly tho or else I prob woulda got nothin
circa 1992...went into the Micro Center in Columbus, Ohio. I rode up the escalator and it was like going into heaven as I saw a freshly built gaming rig demoing Rebel Assault! I've loved Micro Center ever since! Loved the mom and pop shops too, but they have all basically dried up.
I agree. I've never been to one. There's only 1 in California and its in SoCal. For those of us in NorCal, it would be at least a 6-7 hour drive. We had 2 Fry's Electronics within a 45 mile radius of my town before they went out of business. Now, we only have some BestBuys that have a meager selection of computer hardware, even before the pandemic.
I chuckled seeing Phil in the reflection of a shelf window having to hold the camera up to Jay height to film him. Too bad the giant video card doesn't come in white to match.
Every retailer should build an app like that where you can request help and it will tell them where you are. A few months back I went to Best Buy and I wanted a lens that was in a locked case and waited for 20 minutes and asked 3 different associates if they could send help to the camera section and help never came so I went to found a manager and told him how pissed I was. Ended up buying the lens from a different retailer all together.

I don't know if MC held stock specifically for the GRO of this location or put them in there since they knew Jay would be filming this or what, but this is not representative of most stores. By a huge longshot.
As someone who frequents the Tustin store, those shelves are literally always empty

So the website must be lying about stock?
All that really matters is price, stock is everywhere now.

I have fond memories of when MicroCenter and I were first getting into 3D Printing-
-Small selection in the back corner by the bathrooms.

We need a MicroCentre here in the UK, even a UK warehouse shipping parts via the website would be a great thing.

Jay: "I need a new bending cord. Ours got stuck in the ceiling, don't ask."
Me: "... But now I gotta know..."
Jays explaining how big the store is while an employee is running in the background just to get across the massive store in under 5 mins lol
time stamp???
I've been wishing I had a Microcenter near me for like 10 years (Google said the closet one is 3.5 hours away in NY). Turns out there is one about 45 minutes away, just went for the first time (twice in 2 days) and so far it's been awesome.
Thanks to the Denver store having RX6600s in stock last month I was finally able to get out of GPU hell. Granted it was a 5 hour drive, but it was well worth it. An RX6600 was a huge step above what I was using, a 7850. I would recommend Micro Center to anyone within decent drive from one. It truly is PC heaven.
Bingo dude, I was able to get out of GPU hell for $329!
that's tough. Being in ohio I'm within 2.5 hours from 3 separate stores
Those cards sold out as soon as they opened the door. It was in stock for 10min.
Do they not do the lottery anymore?
I keep hearing about Micro Center, but never been to one. I looked at their locations, and they have one in Cincinnati, about two hours away from me. I have an old pre-built with a nice case I want to rebuild,so I think I will be making a trip up there soon.
Come to seattle please or tri cities. Micro center
Tri cities represent! Couldn’t agree more
I live near the Micro Center outside of Philadelphia, they are currently doing a pretty significant expansion as well. Maybe not quite to this scale but I can't wait to see the end result still!
It'd be cool for the Microcenter in Overland Park Kansas to get this sort of love, place is always freaking busy and rather small for the location.
Never been to the one here in MN
I 100% agree with you.
They need to just build an all new location here in ks 👌
I just got my 12700k and 3080 Ti PC built last week. Got all my parts from MicroCenter and they were all in stock.
@@robertmccracken6930 I figured that, but wanted people to have realistic expectations
If I didn’t already hav a GPU I’d run out and get one now lol
They REALLY NEED TO build more Microcenters they need to do one here in Burlington NC! :)
Just any micro center in NC
Agreed. Closest one is in Fairfax.
Milwaukee or Green Bay too.
Totally agree 👍
i almost cried when i saw the wall of GPUs at decent prices...
I chuckled seeing Phil in the reflection of a shelf window having to hold the camera up to Jay height to film him. Too bad the giant video card doesn't come in white to match.
9:21 for those who missed it. got me dyin over here
Every retailer should build an app like that where you can request help and it will tell them where you are. A few months back I went to Best Buy and I wanted a lens that was in a locked case and waited for 20 minutes and asked 3 different associates if they could send help to the camera section and help never came so I went to found a manager and told him how pissed I was. Ended up buying the lens from a different retailer all together.
