Jay, I do this all the time when building a PC with a custom loop: Take the tubes off the CPU block, grab your blower vac and blast air through the block while you do your initial boot up test. I am an electrical engineer and I have done some work on the 12VHPR cable. PCI-SIG state that the 12VHPR connector can handle 600W max load, After measuring the pins, as well as the fact that the connector pins are thin wall folded metal, the entire connector realistically is only able to handle 450Watts of continuous load. The 12VHPR has as many conductors as 2 regular 6 pin GPU/PCIe power connectors, however, the pin to cable connector is 14% smaller in size than the traditional PCIe power plugs, reducing the current carrying capacity by the same amount. 4090's with a single 12VHPR connector are running against the limit, running more than 450 watts through this connector is asking for disaster
the montage at the end was awesome. lol jay comes into screen drinking a water bottle and moves out of the way when he notices hes in the shot. lol good stuff. dope build. love the mega man theme.
Even with all those tubes and fans giving so much effort to keep an overclocked PC cool, there can still be evidence of error, especially if the components are not routed properly.
WOW! Did Jay just admit to being a noob at this? What is the world coming to! 😉😆🤣 Seriously, though. Fantastic looking build! Glad the fix turned out to be easy!!
2 Things I have to say. 1st. I am loving the build videos. 2nd. The editing and montage footage was awesome. The production of this series was very entertaining. The end build with the flames was sick.
Really nice build. Pity about the... unfortunate accident shall we say. Looks like what the Uni Fans want is an end piece that clips on over the exposed pins and looks like the two illuminated sides, just for cases like that where you can see the "front" of the fan.
This was fun. ... Glad to see Mega Man power up! ... (20:00) Preforming a diode test on the power connectors on the motherboard can diagnose a short pretty quick. Also using a multimeter to preform a DC Voltage test on the PSU or board power connectors can rule out any power problems pretty fast and reliable.
Sucks about the board (I did similar once, ugh), but man the build came out GREAT, Jay, I love it (and I normally dislike figurines in a PC, but that WORKS).
I like the way the CPU block looks in acetal with the lighting. It kind of reminds me of my old XSPC Raystorm that I hung on to for way too long just because I loved how it looked.
Jay! Jay! JAYYYYYYY! Use SignalRGB and you only need 1 program to control ALLL the RGB! You get more finite control of the RGB's and you have way more options of designs to use. Pretty sweet looking build though... That white reflecting the colors looks really good. I have almost as much RGB in my build, but it's almost all black inside and doesn't look nearly as good.
I LIKE THE CABLES!!!!! 😮 How lucky would someone be to have a friend like Jay!!!??? This PC is one of my favorite ones you've done!! 15/10 SIX stars, three thumbs up!!! 😂😂😂 Both my vehicles are white with black accents so you can tell how much builds like this clean speak to me!!!
Someone commented this before, but if you could stack in an effect for the RAM to fill a health bar and weapon bar when you turn it on that would be pretty slick.
super cool, but this is partially why I gave up building custom pcs myself. Plus cost. Again, super cool build you are doing and it is nice you are showing some of the pitfalls people can run into!

SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! - AMAZING WORK!!!!!! And PHIL TOO!!! - That montage was EXCELLENT!!! (as always) I am REALLY digging that close up scope thing you got... VERY UNIQUE!!!
it still amazes me how much storage you can fit in such a little card. I remember my buddy getting the very first one terabyte storage device we had ever seen. this was not too long after 2000 since we were stuck on rpg maker 2000 and that's why he got it, for storage for making games. he paid around $500 and if I remember correctly it was two spin disk drives that showed up as one external storage device.
This is the stuff. I once paid Microcenter to tell me I plugged the front IO incorrectly. It was so frustrating to diagnose. The result, 90% ITX rebuild to move a connection one pin over.
Wow what an amazing build. That said, based on only what i already know, i could sell your friend crap in a shitstorm. Love the vids thanks for your time. I'm building my first pc rn so I genuinely appreciate the content and have subbed.
when you close the latch, there is tension locked in the cpu bracket. When you then removed the four screws holding the bracket, the screws sometimes can get stuck in the hole because of said tension and the screw thread can damage the screw hole. Check the four screw holes you may find some damage which may damaged the motherboard. make sure you DO NOT close the latch when you remove the cpu bracket.

20:57 This is sick! The hero holding the card is SCK! The b-roll is SCK! The whole build is SiiiiiCK!!!
He didn't get mad because it wasn't his $300 for a new motherboard.
His friend was so chill about it 😂I wish upon stars for a friendship like that…actually any friendship. Someone love me 😢
At 19:04 I loved how Jay realized a B-roll was being shot and quickly moved out of the frame
Jay! Jay!
How lucky would someone be to have a friend like Jay!!!??? This PC is one of my favorite ones you've done!! 15/10 SIX stars, three thumbs up!!! 😂😂😂 Both my vehicles are white with black accents so you can tell how much builds like this clean speak to me!!!
Someone commented this before, but if you could stack in an effect for the RAM to fill a health bar and weapon bar when you turn it on that would be pretty slick.
I barely understand what this man is saying but it’s entertaining watching him have fun
Nice track for B-roll and editing for the digital atchoo bit
super cool, but this is partially why I gave up building custom pcs myself. Plus cost. Again, super cool build you are doing and it is nice you are showing some of the pitfalls people can run into!
Fluid plates look so neat and they also cover unwanted airflow paths sealing the box in a beautiful way
That is a sweet build. It's always good to see you finish one of these, warts difficulties and all! I'm in a Fractal North, which I really like, although it isn't the best choice for a water cooled build. It's going to become a water cooled build.
This Mega Man Series of Build Videos has been so cool to watch. Thanks Jay and what an awesome result.
Yeah it's pretty crazy. I bought an upgrade disc for my steamdeck. M.2 2230 with 2tb. It's the size of a large sd-card.
This is the stuff. I once paid Microcenter to tell me I plugged the front IO incorrectly. It was so frustrating to diagnose. The result, 90% ITX rebuild to move a connection one pin over.
Probably my favorite build to date, and I’m not even a mega man fan. The fire scene with the ram lighting was just *chefs kiss* ahh
Wow what an amazing build.
That said, based on only what i already know, i could sell your friend crap in a shitstorm.
Love the vids thanks for your time. I'm building my first pc rn so I genuinely appreciate the content and have subbed.
That was some sexy B-roll, Phil! Great music selection too, and I loved the comedic bit of Jay walking into the shot 😂
The build looks so nice, I really like the white lighting with the blue effect moving through it.
I think that looks really nice with the blue and white lighting. Its a whole theme and works.
Great build Jay. Thank you for taking us on the journey. I hope your buddy likes it. I know I do :)
A hard CMOS reset could fix that motherboard.
Custom liquid cooled pcs always look so cool. I don't think ill ever have one tho lmao. On a side note, your friend seems very wholesome! :)
For those wondering the montage music is Ninja Skills by Ava Low
happy to see you're very honest with your clients Jay. thumbs up!
Turned out awesome! Very much looking forward to my next build with hard tubing! Cheers!
when you close the latch, there is tension locked in the cpu bracket. When you then removed the four screws holding the bracket, the screws sometimes can get stuck in the hole because of said tension and the screw thread can damage the screw hole. Check the four screw holes you may find some damage which may damaged the motherboard. make sure you DO NOT close the latch when you remove the cpu bracket.
this build is by far my most favorite build ive ever seen seriously, I myself love the megaman x series , i myself used to enjoy playing megaman x series and megaman legends on the playstation 1. I love how beautiful and vibrant and slick this build looks😁 I love it , Amazing job Jay, You killed it ! I am so Envious of this build.
