This maybe an unpopular opinion, but I see nothing wrong with Misty having Blastoise, Erika having Venusaur, and blaine having Charizard or even Brock having Rhydon
Just found your channel recently and love the content. Pokémon theory crafting is such a fun topic and you make it very entertaining. Love the vid and keep it up!
I feel like a lot of the pokemon who hold off their evolution for the next gym badge probably should evolve at that point. After like level 30 regardless of type tlan unevolved pooemon is just so weak it wouldn't challenge the player at all.
@@TheEliteZee And the effect of Toxic never missing when a Poison-type uses it didn't come until Gen 6. If this is supposed to be a copy of FRLG with Gen 3 mechanics, that mechanic wouldn't exist.
While I have a negative impression towards people that are bashing on GF for not doingthe gym scaling, I love this video. The only thing I question, with only 151 Pokémon in the dex, why are people against species overlap, Giovanni and Brock have used Onix, and Blue overlaps with multiple Pokémon with gym leaders.
This is awesome! Love the content. Cant wait to see the other region gym leaders. For the TMs, maybe a good compromise would be to ha e a decent utility TM. Like Toxic would be good no matter when you get it. Not extremely game breaking early but not useless late game. Thinking of 7 more TMs is the hard part lol. Maybe also include a "national rematch" team. Pretty much a team that suits them without having only pokemon from their respective regions. Koga with Drapion for example.
This is a good idea but there are a ton of frustrating mistakes . Why avoid duplicates? The Kanto gym leaders aren’t just type specialists, they are more specific than that. Koga *never* uses the Nido lines because he’s the Ninja dude who uses the muk/weezing lines like that’s his thing. Misty should have two Starmie. Blaine shouldn’t have Arcanine. Etc.
You know gamefreak was a very small team with a low budget back then right this is way to hard for them to have possibly implemented in the original games
1:35 Always gotta say whenever someone says brings this up, your argument is exactly why they would never do this. Pokemon is such a big franchise, and the games make up such a low percentage of that profit (like 5% max last I checked) that the games are not going to prioritize things like this tbh. I think TCG Pocket may have made more profit than Scar/Vi at this point? On topic though Giovanni would be a big issue in this. He's important to the plot and thus must be fought last. However, he's in the very first town, so a lot of unsuspecting players would try to fight him first. Any opinions on a fix?
Giovanni does sabotage this whole thing since he’s tied into the plot. If I really had to come up for a way around this then I’d say to add a mandatory final battle with him after you collect all of the badges.
@TheEliteZee I think the argument could be made to just keep him as the final gym leader and not have him scale. The player will fight him periodically throughout the story already. I don't see him going easy on new trainers lol. "Go bulbasaur!" "Nidoqueen, Hyperbeam" Lol
As of two weeks ago, TCG Pocket scored up 200K in gross revenue. Compared to Pokemon RBY for the Virtual Console, aka the least profitable mainline release, which got 19M in gross revenue, it's not even a competition. You gotta remember, barely anyone in the fanbase cares about TCG, comparatively speaking.
Yeah but FrLg are faithful to Gen 1 to the point where no Johto/Hoenn pokemon exist in the game at all until you get the National Dex, even blocking evolutions that should take place. Plus it doesn’t make since for me at least as to why a rock the leader should use Steelix. Maybe for a post game rematch, he should finally evolve the Onix into Steelix, but besides that, it shouldn’t be done

I really like this concept. It’s like the trainers themselves are evolving in a way!
Are you flippin? Giga drain and Psychic on the first gym?
3:44 Hmmmmm, I don't think that name is quite right...
Ah yes... Lt. Erika

7:47 Venonat evolves into Venomoth at level 31, why is Koga able to have it
Darn, I can’t believe I let that slip through the cracks

I really like this video! I hope you do this with the other generations too
Great video man
That's a lot of self-destructs lol
3:51 damn, Erika has been making gains recently

I would have Psyduck for Misty’s early gyms over Krabby, but everything else is perfect!

Lol
You just have to go through the entirety of Silph Co without a gym badge, simple.

why didnt you replaced elctrodes self destruct with explosion?
I was expecting Mistys Seaking to get replaced by Gyarados by the time she’d be the 8th gym leader.
